Dr. Salazar and her team are incredibly kind and warm, but unfortunately the quality of the lens fittings were subpar. There were too many follow-up appointments needed over the first couple of years for each of my annual keratoconus fittings to give me the confidence to return as a patient. She ultimately wanted to charge me for a follow-up, rather than take accountability of the poor fitting. read more

This business presented an estimate for services that was inconsistent with my insurance policy and more expensive. Even after acknowledging the inconsistency, their offer was for me to pay the higher fee or part ways. I chose to part ways. - One the office staff presented the full breakdown of the costs based on my insurance benefits. The initial estimate showed that I was responsible for the entire cost of the contact lens exam. I explained that my insurance covers a portion of the exam and was told that "this is just the way the billing shows up on our end". - I showed the office staff my insurance benefits which specified an allowance, $0 deductible, and additional discount on contact lens exam. - At that point, a different person presented a new estimate. The instruction from the insurance company specifically said "Take the 15% discount before applying the allowance." This was printed on the paper the staff was presenting to me. The amount present by staff was incorrect and took the discount after the allowance, which resulted in a higher overall fee. I asked that this be corrected to match the insurance policy. The staff informed me that this is again simply the way the billing was showing up on the insurance portal. I asked to speak with someone else who could help resolve this issue. - Another office staff came to explain to me that they spoke to the billing manager and they acknowledge the policy (and the print out we were both looking at) says that the discount is supposed to be taken before the allowance, but the difference is only about $20 and my choice was to either accept paying the additional fee or part ways since the billing system could not be fixed. - I chose to part ways since, in principle, I should not have to pay for the discrepancy between Delaney Eye Center's and the insurance company's billing systems. - I wrote a review on another platform about this issue, and Dr. Salazar's response was to dismiss my claim saying that I did not come to the clinic (I did) and that my insurance calculation was inaccurate (it was not. The staff themselves admitted it was accurate.). Super disappointed by the process and the leader's response. A simple apology would have been more effective. read more

I've been coming to this facility for about two years. Every time I come, they are welcoming, kind and attentive. I never feel rushed. Marissa is amazing, as is Dr. Salazar. I would give everyone a shout out by name, but unfortunately, I don't know everyone's name. They are amazing with both of my sons, one of which is autistic. CAUTION TO ALL - read my story. I went back to Delaney Eye Center last September because I wanted a tint added to my indoor glasses that I had purchased from them the previous year. I have a severe light sensitivity from a brain injury. I was seen by Dr. Crockett. When the prescription came back, the right eye was blurry. I had to go back so that Dr. Salazar could correct the prescription. I asked if I could go to the next level up on the tint because I wasn't getting much relief from the very light tint that was added. She agreed. When the glasses came back the second time, I was unable to read my computer screen at work the next day. I had to go back again. Dr. Salazar said that she would have to pay for this redo because the lab only gives her one. I didn't understand until just recently that the reason I couldn't see my computer screen was because they mistakenly had the lab polarize my lenses. It was always understood that these glasses were for indoor use, at work on a computer. They certainly would have known that the reason I couldn't see my computer screen was because they had my indoor glasses polarized. However, they did not inform me of that fact. I was made financially responsible for their mistake. After Dr. Salazar stated that she would have to pay for this redo, Tommy then came in and told me I had to pay for it. He gave me a speech about how they're not trying to make any more money off me and it would be "at cost." He convinced me to keep the original lenses as a sunglass and get a second pair "at cost." I still spent $700 on the second pair of glasses so I seriously doubt that was their cost. The first redo was because their new doctor got the prescription wrong, the second redo was because they polarized my indoor work glasses. Both redos were because of THEIR mistakes. I should never have been made financially responsible for their mistake. Then, my mother discovered that I could order Theraspecs online which provide a tint specially designed for light sensitivities like mine. I decided to trash the lenses that I had just spent over $600 on in the sunglasses that I never wanted. I had previously requested a copy of my prescription when I picked up my glasses up from Delaney Eye Center. So, to send my order in online to Theraspecs, I just needed the two measurements that go along with the glasses about pupillary distance. I called Delaney Eye Center and requested this information. I got a huge run around from the receptionist who kept putting me on hold. She told me they don't have it because it's specific to the glasses. I told her it's the same glasses they just sold me new lenses for a few months ago. She didn't know what to say at that point. Then Tommy got on the phone. Suddenly, it's also specific to the lens, but if I want to come in, "for a fee" they can give me my measurement. I was shocked and appalled. I just finished telling him that I realized the reason I couldn't see my computer screen was because they had my indoor glasses polarized and that just a few months later, I am trashing these $600 lenses that are no good for me and he still refused to give me my measurements without wanting even more money out of me. I hung up on him. I will never return to Delaney Eye Center. I would seriously caution anyone who is considering going there. They certainly don't seem to care about doing right by their patients. read more

I don't know who the other reviewer is, but have to wonder if he/she was at the same optometrist. My wife and were patients of Dr. Salazar at Visionworks for a couple of years prior to her establishing her own Delaney Eye Center business. We were so satisfied with her care that we moved our optometry care to her new office. It's a smaller office so that there are no long waits, service is personalized (they actually know who you are), with no pressure insofar as buying frames there, nor are prescriptions withheld. In fact, my wife was given her reading glasses prescription immediately whereby she could take advantage of a sales on frames at another provider. Overall, we're very pleased with both Delaney Eye Center, Dr. Salazar, their service, pricing and integrity. It's also nice that in this particular time of COVID, you're NOT sitting in an office packed with other people waiting to be served. read more

I don't usually leave reviews for anything but Dr.Salazar and staff are a big fresh of breath air! super friendly, don't know if anyone else feels this way but they really felt like family. As cliche as that sounds. I came across Delaney Eye Center by researching online to find contacts for my eye disease (Keratoconus). I have to say I'm super blessed and lucky to stumble across them. Especially since Dr.Salazar has the same eye condition and knows exactly what it's like. I always look forward to seeing them and don't plan on going anywhere else even if I live an hour away. 10/10. I would not recommend this business . They purposely did not give me my script after my exam. They withheld it to try to get me to order my contacts from them. Every time I requested the script they kept trying to sell me . Then when they finally sent the script . It was incomplete. They didn't send me my eye glass script . Then when I went to order contacts they had a hold on my Ins benefits. Then I realized without my knowledge they took part of my benefits towards my exam. They assumed I would order from them and I would never realize . VSP Ins is investigating them for these unethical business practices . This Dr is bad news . They will take advantage of you and pressure you. DO NOT TRUST THEM ! read more

Took the whole family today to Delaney Eye Center for complete eye exams and to pick out new glasses. It was a phenomenal experience for the adults and kids. The office is brand new and beautiful- You walk in knowing it is clean and safe. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, and even Dr Salazar came out and greeted us. Dr. Salazar's exam utilized state of the art technology so we did not have to get dilated and make the kids miserable. The exam was great and thorough, and I loved that Dr Salazar talked to my kids through the whole exam, explaining each step and even showing them the digital image of the optic nerve and letting them learn a little about the eye . The eyeglass selection was beautiful and the glasses "expert", Jay, was so incredibly helpful. We have found our new home for eye care. I highly recommend Dr Salazar and Delaney Eye Center. Also - it is only 1 mile from i-4 so easy access from anywhere in Orlando. read more
