Can't say enough good things about this store. I make the trip over from VT every couple weeks to restock on Noodles, Kimchi, and FRESH BABY BOK CHOI! (Seriously step up your Ramen game with noodles and Broth, or packaged Ramen!) They will help you find what you need fo a recipe, or what makes a good substitute. If you don't see what you need, Ask! What a pleasant surprise to find such an authentic, reasonably priced Asian market in Lebanon, NH. Yipings offers a wide selection of noodles, rice, Asian sauces, oils and spices that makes cooking authentic Asian food in the Upper Valley much easier! Because things are not as organized as they might be, you do sometimes have to look in several areas of the store to find what you are looking for, but chances are, that it is there! This place probably saved my life (or at the very least my taste buds) while I was living in Lebanon the last few years. So grateful there is an Asian market here. The place is small, but they pack so much in. The couple of times I've asked about a product that they didn't have in, they went ahead and ordered them for my next visit. Decent selection of many different types of Asian foods and spices. I'd just be curious as to how old of the items are though, especially the frozen meats. Some items like the fish balls were terribly freezer burned. Other items looked really good such as the fresh vegetables like bok choi and ginger. read more

Oh this was rather exciting. A friend and I decided to explore West Lebanon just for the heck of it on a Sunday morning, and it turns out that the most life we really saw in West Leb was in Yiping's Asian Market... Yiping's is a bit tiny and cramped, but pretty similar to Asian markets back at home (California) for me. They've got a very solid variety of your standard Asian snacks and goodies (Hello Panda, Pocky, Shin Ramen, mochi, etc). I was pleasantly surprised. I was honestly a bit iffy about the freshness of some of the produce and some of the snacks, which is why I'm downgrading it. Yiping's doesn't seem like it gets much business, but to be fair, West Leb is a pretty empty town... Giving it 3 stars since it's at least an Asian market in the area with a fairly decent selection of goods. The freshness is questionable, but I did see the people working there bringing in fresh vegetables.. so maybe the produce and veggies are fresh? Not bad if you really need an Asian fix. Otherwise, Amazon prime is always an option for students... read more

During a recent jaunt up to Lebanon, we had a little time to kill and decided to check out this little Asian market, a type we sorely miss from our time in California. The mister and I weren't expecting too much, frankly, but were quite pleasantly surprised! Not only could we pick up hard-to-find staples like besam (gram flour used in Indian cooking) and big bags of Japanese and basmati rice, but also interesting ramen (artificial pickled vegetable beef flavor! Chapagetti!) and newfound loves (mehti puri!) I wouldn't say anything was on the cheap side -- some of the prices made us wince and walk on (sorry, lumpia). Also the bag of basmati we settled on was quite stale smelling when we opened it. But as long as you're not expecting Yipings to supplant your weekly Market Basket trip, it's fine for the special culinary needs that pop up. read more

I discovered Yiping's when I joined a Chinese cooking group during the pandemic and was amazed at how many things they stock! All of the sauces, dry ingredients, etc. but also fresh asian produce (hello lotus root!) frozen spring roll wrappers, fresh noodles and tons more. It's an hour away from me but definitely worth a special trip. read more

The prices are very competitive, and I'm happy this place exists to fill nearly all of my needs when cooking Asian cuisine. First, the phone number on their website is disconnected. Then, I drove all the way over there today (they say they open at 10:00) and got there at 11:00, and it was closed. Yipings is a great asian market--better than anything north of Boston and better than many big city markets in that, along with Chinese/Korean/Japanese staples, it also stocks South Asian supplies from jaggery to paneer! It's popularity with Dartmouth students and UV scensters has added a recent boost to its core clientele, and the selection seems to be growing by the day! read more

Smallish market but a very nice selection of Asian products, especially for our neck of the woods. We shop here regularly, rather than ordering on-line (it's nice to be able to support a local business). It can be something of a treasure hunt to find a particular item, since the organization on the shelves leaves a little to be desired, but that's part of the fun of shopping here (we always discover something new to try). Prices generally are as good or better than the larger grocery stores (even on-line, once you factor in shipping, and, yes, we check regularly), at least for pantry items (sauces, noodles, etc.). Fresh produce can be a little pricey. The owners usually are friendly and helpful, when you just can't find something. One negative is that most items do not have a price on them, but we just take them up front to be scanned at the register, before we decide. Someone mentioned in an earlier review that they did not carry durian, but saw some in one of the refrigerators, when we were there a couple of days ago (not my cup of tea, but interesting to see it there), so maybe they read their reviews and adjust, or maybe it was just a timing thing.
