We often felt unclear on expectations, received little guidance on working with the horses, and experienced inconsistent communication. At times, interactions felt distant, which made it hard to feel fully welcomed. Our final visit to the garden club--where we were initially told it was "full" without prior notice--ultimately solidified that this wasn't the right fit for us, though we appreciated Erin stepping in to let us help. That said, Monica and Dylan were wonderful and very supportive. I genuinely believe in the mission and hope the volunteer experience continues to improve with more structure and communication.

There is a short walk from the main "west chapel" and cabins which pass this view, which definitely makes the walk enjoyable. There are many activities to choose from, which I unfortunately did not get a chance to partake in due to my fatigue (I passed out on the uncomfortable bunk bed during our free time). I heard there was paddle-boating on the lake, an archery range, a playground for younger children, a small basketball court with basketballs provided, and much more. While there are cabins available for living, you can also choose to stay in the "trains," which are located much closer to the dining area. The food is subpar, what you would expect from a camp like this much slightly better. This camp, as was pointed out to me by some friends, was in much better shape than many of these types of campsites I'd been to in the past. It's slightly smaller but perfect for a group of between 50-100 people. Mattresses are terrible, so bring a mattress pad for the picky sleepers. You will also need all of your own toiletries, bed sheets, blankets (sleeping bag) and pillow. I was only here for a weekend and I'm usually uncomfortable staying outside of my comfort zone, but this was quite nice and hopefully more events I am a part of could be held here instead.

Camp Skyline is a Christian all girls camp located in northeast Alabama on Lookout Mountain. My…read morewife spent many months researching camps that offered a variety of activities including some out of the box that include; Circus, yes, circus including all kinds of high wire activities, manners and modeling, golf, Bible study, cooking are just some. This will be our oldest daughter's sixth year and our youngest her fourth. Sessions are two weeks, not too long and not to short. We have found the staff and counselors really interested in the girls. Skyline is nearly 300 miles from our home and requires an over night stay going and coming but we feel worth the effort. Our girls consider it an important part of summer, they look forward to, they shop for it and they hate to leave when it is over. It has been a great experience for them in meeting and making new friends. None of their local friends attend so they meet girls from other places and learn about their lives. They learn how to live in close quarters with other folks that might be different from you. Costs are in line with other summer camps. We feel our girls are in good hands and will come back better people for the time spent there.

With 1 it was not very comfortable & you could feel the wood bellow. The food isn't bad it is just not my favorite. The activities are soooo fun. It's a great way to make new friends & the staff are very involved. Last but definitely not least is the wave pool & slides. The wave pool is sooo fun, the waves get so high! I would recommend the younger kids might need to have a parent with them because the waves get really high & hard! The slide is super fun & smooth so it doesn't hurt, but at the end you will more than likely have a wedgy! The view is amazing & so pretty! At night you can see the stars perfectly clearly & they are beautiful! This was a very nice place.
