The classes range from restorative and gentle to more physically challenging- but most of the instructors use their intuitive sense to do what is needed at the time. So be open to a variety and be open to working on your mat if you are in a class that is different from your expectation. That's part of opening yourself up for positive change and growth. Attention is placed on proper alignment, ensuring safety for all students of every body type and age. Each class feels like a beautiful creation. This is Not just taking an exercise class, although you will trim down and improve balance and strength. It's an experience. I leave lighter every time; more focused, more balanced and more loving.

I have only taken classes with Gina so far, so I have a limited amount of experience with the studio's offerings, but from what I have seen I can say that Bearfoot offers solid classes for beginner and intermediate yogis. Gina's classes are slow and controlled with good explanations of alignment and balance. She strongly encourages the use of props in the correct manner - level 1 and 2 classes include bolsters, blankets and blocks. Do not expect to get overheated and sweat it out at Bearfoot - temperatures are kept at the comfortable level (something I like) and classes are set at a slower pace than most other vinyasa practices (something I like sometimes). The other thing you get with Gina's practices is a longish talk regarding her personal insights, some stuff about astrology, shamanism, and the various spiritual aspects of yoga. The latter stuff is certainly not my cup of tea, but you may feel differently - her classes are full, so apparently many people do!

He is a gifted teacher who addresses mind ,body and spirit in his own, down to earth, style. You can come as a beginner or advanced practitioner, everyone is welcome. The owner, Suzanne, is wonderful.
