    Waiting for class to start!

YDC offers a clean calming experience at their studio right off of Great East Neck Road. They have a large availability of classes and styles. One class (aptly named move your yoga hips!) has you swinging your rear around the mat, the next class you're calmly practicing your pranayama breathing and belting out some ohhhmmms. Teachers and staff are non-judgemental and friendly. If you're just beginning your practice or are a hardened yogi veteran with a few years in, there's a class and environment tailored to you. Parking can prove to be a bit difficult at times (with more popular classes) if you stray away from the church lot and try not to be such a nuisance in front of residences. Wish it was closer to home!

A center filled with peaceful, rejuvenating and positive energy. So far every time I have gone I leave feeling "a little bit better" whether for a meditation group, yoga, reiki or a combination of it all! I am doing my Reiki training here and once my back is ready I'll be back to participate in yoga classes. The prices are reasonable and worth it. Great vibes !

I just moved out to Long Island from Brooklyn a few weeks ago. I wanted to find a place to…read moreseamlessly transition my Bikram practice - and I'm so glad that I found Ash. I was immediately welcomed by the friendly and encouraging staff and felt so at home! I've taken 6 classes so far and I'm hooked. If you're a Bikram practitioner of any level, I recommend Ash - they have a variety of teachers, but they're all versed in the Bikram dialogue. Colleen, Heatherly, Marissa - whether you like the 60 minute express or if you brave the 90 minutes, they've got you covered and you'll leave sweaty and rejuvenated. The studio is well heated and there's plenty of space - I've felt amazing from the very first class! They have a ton of other heated and non-heated classes too which I'm excited to try (but I am a bit of a Bikram loyalist at the moment). Only critique would be that they don't provide towels or mats so you have to bring your own, and the shower situation isn't great - the bathroom is small so there's nowhere to comfortably get changed unless you're standing in the shower. I'm coming from Brooklyn where I'm used to towels and mats being provided and the showers being really great, but that's Brooklyn where no one has a car and everyone has to take the train after class, so it's different. I'm adjusting to the Long Island life, so this isn't turning into as much of a hassle as I thought it would be. Getting in my car sweaty isn't so bad so I've been showering at home after and it's fine! I love Ash Hot Yoga, the teachers, the other students, the atmosphere, the availability of classes, and the you-are-family, everyone-is-welcome-here vibes. I'm so glad I found them and can't wait for more.

AYAH is more than a yoga studio, Kim has created a community. I often joke that the studio is my home away from home. The AYAH studio is a beautiful, serene space; the minute you walk in you can feel the love and caring that Kim has put into it. AYAH offers classes for all levels of yogis; whether you're just starting out or have been practicing for years there is a class for you. In addition to yoga classes, Kim offers a wide variety of workshops to enhance your spiritual growth and deepen your practice. I have attended workshops regularly and have always enjoyed the experience and felt benefits received from attending were well worth my time. As for the other instructors, I can't say enough! Alexa, and Adrienne teach yin and restorative classes that are fantastic. Jenna's classes are challenging enough for the experienced yogi but still attainable for the newer practitioner. They all offer variations for poses to help you get the most from their class. Over all I highly recommend you try out a new comer special at Aloha Yoga and Healing; I guarantee you'll be signing up for the monthly membership in no time!!

I've been to Alexa's and John's yoga class and although they have different styles they are both thoughtful and just overall cool vibes. Alexa's class on Wednesday is a gentle & inspiring flow suitable for beginners & seasoned yogis alike. John's class is a strong vinyasa flow that offers modifications for beginner-intermediate. Definitely recommend this studio if you're in the area- you won't regret it.

I love the monthly aerial cocooning workshop with Tibetan tones singing bowls mediation led by Adrianna. She is an advanced wellness practitioner who guides her class safely for those who are new to aerial style yoga and ending the class with a deep sound bath meditation makes me feel truly incredible every workshop I attend. I, myself have enjoyed massages, sauna sessions and a variety of yoga classes here and feel more calm and confident after each session. I think the owner is mentally off as I have never encountered such rapid movement or as strange a classroom presentation in fifty years of yoga. I researched the teacher on line when I returned home and discovered she was the owner. She has inserted her image and bio ubiquitously including a music site when she doesn't even produce music! The self promotion was staggering, Bad vibes of a cultish sort here. Could never coddle to her ego bursting classroom narratives. Want to do some authentic yoga? Go somewhere else. It's a spiritual assault.
