Was visiting Long Beach. Used Yelp. Walked over from my hotel. Absolutely LOVED it. Nice welcoming vibe. Took a practice with Lizzy. She was AWESOME. And I love their padded floor. Great yoga studio find.

The new Yogalution studio opened on redondo between broadway and vista. There's a private lot for parking (see right side for designated spaces). Dharma is the one who started yoga on the bluff. There is a wellness center here with massage therapists, alternate healings and wellness. There's Kirtan every last Friday of the month and lots of yoga events such as sound baths, yoga dance, studies of yoga scriptures, all night gong events, ecstatic dance. Dharma also hosts retreats in Hawaii and will go to India in January 2023. I've only checked out a few instructors so far as I'm a mama of 3 but can't wait to check out more. This is donation based yoga (pretty cool concept); a minimum of $7 (suggested donation is $15-20 per class). I posted the current schedule there's 42+ classes a week. Most days there are classes from 7am to 745pm at night (7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, 4:30pm, 6pm, 7:45pm). The weekends have less to have time for workshops and teacher trainings. (Yoga on the bluff is everyday at 11am on ocean and junipero). You can also email to see about hosting yoga events in the nice outdoor space - definitely a spot to check out for yoga in Long Beach!

ahhh Yogalution- An accessible, affordable, and incredibly safe space yoga studio that builds commUNITY. They've modernized yoga in a way that is identifiable for present day practice all the while honoring its south asian roots. Their free 'yoga on the bluff' classes was the perfect segway for me to explore their yoga teacher training program. I can't say I wasn't hesitant at first but my ego was checked quick. I was thrilled to learn that this was course was indeed lead by women of color and filled with a diverse group of students! More importantly, race aside... the deeper I dove into this course the clearer it became that Dharma and Marlene were simiply BORN to do this. This is their soul's purpose, their life mission, they were put on this earth especially for this! The passion they have to share this knowledge is inspirational and I'm so grateful that I didn't let my personal predjudices get in the way of the opportunity to experience their genuine teachings. For TEN YEARS I held off on pursuing YTT and I'm so glad I waited because this program was truly everything I was looking for. At first I really just wanted someone to tell me if I was doing the poses right, but I also wanted to learn more about yoga's roots and how to honor the culture that it came from. I just want to emphasize what an amazing job they did of that. They weren't preachy, they didn't force any beliefs on anyone, they simply provided the perspective and left it to our personal interpretation. I'm beyong grateful and honored to be a Peace Warrior by the divine teachings of Dharma & Marlene of the Yogalution Movement. I can't thank them enough for this experience and encouraging me to take their teachings and sprinkle my own flavor into it! I'm looking forward to sharing this light with the world. I hope I make you proud!

It really helped regulate my nervous system And I very much appreciated. Franz and the way he helped guide beginners. What I did not appreciate was a woman who was also a beginner and craved support on an almost competitive level. She was very much attended to and a bit of a trauma dumper. I left for a while because of her, she just kept showing up in my space, but that was my choice to leave. Fast forward to the pandemic I did try to rejoin online and I was met with that same woman who I did try to extend an Olive branch to, since she was struggling and kept "showing up". She was the same trauma dumper, yet didn't remember me. But something that came to light is that I was not allowed to join the book group that she had created. As I got better, I thought about going back in spite of this woman, but then I saw that she is part of faculty Ultimately I decided that a group that would support someone with that behavior, in the way that they did is not the right group for me. I probably should have and I thought about contacting leaders in this group, but at that time, my nervous system was not in a place to defend myself and it's somehow felt small and petty. Better to let her have her way. However, six years later, I see that this is not the Buddhist way, which is the way they follow. I was not shown loving kindness in a time when I really needed it.

The sessions run about 90-minutes all together and they offer various package options from one-time sessions to more opportunities to return for free with the package. You can purchase and make appointments directly on their website as well as through ClassPass. When my friends and I arrived, we were welcomed by Ananta, who checked us in, had us sign waivers online and offered us tea. He led us in the breathwork session first, which was an invigorating yet relaxing experience at the same time. Immediately after the session, Ananta led us to the cold plunge where he gently encouraged us to dip in for about 2-minutes. The water was about 40 degrees and my feet were tingling and nearly numb by the time I got out. We did it though and it awakened our senses and got our blood circulating! We then, had the option of dipping in the hot tub or going in the saunas. I warmed up in the jacuzzi, then spent some time in the outdoor barrel steam sauna and infrared sauna. Before I knew it, our 90-minute session came to an end. They have showers for us to rinse off and I left with glowing skin and a lighter spirit. I will definitely be back for more healing and rejuvenation! Free street parking in the residential neighborhood.

A Hidden Oasis in Long Beach - Pure Paradise for Mind & Body…read more I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, it's a true hidden gem in the heart of Long Beach that feels like you've been transported far, far away. As soon as you walk in, the energy shifts. It's calm. Peaceful. Inviting. The kind of space where you instantly feel your shoulders drop and your mind start to slow down. They've created what feels like a tropical wellness retreat, but without ever leaving the city. The cold plunge alone is worth the visit. It's crisp, clean, and absolutely invigorating, and if you've read up on the benefits (reduced inflammation, better sleep, mood boosts), you'll appreciate just how much good it's doing while you shiver! Pair that with their sauna lineup, a traditional hot sauna, a jacuzzi, and beautifully lit infrared saunas and you've got everything you need to detox, decompress, and reset. They also guide you through breathing techniques that help deepen the whole experience. After just one session, I felt like I had taken a vacation without ever stepping on a plane. Whether you're a wellness junkie or just need a few hours to reconnect with yourself, this place is an absolute must. Long Beach has a true oasis, and I'm so grateful I found it. Highly recommend.
