    My family and I have had great experiences purchasing furniture from Jordan's. We bought a couch…read moreabout a year ago and a mattress more recently. We worked with two different associates (different departments, otherwise we would have definitely worked with the same people again) and both were helpful, but not pushy. The associates did a great job of answering questions, looking up inventory, delivery dates, and product information. They also gave us space and time to try different options, think about our decisions, etc. Both experiences were very positive and we feel like we got good deals with exceptional service. The protection plans and expected lifespan of the products were also some main reasons we ended up purchasing from Jordan's. The only difficulty we had was that there seemed to be several other "shoppers" who were just hanging out or tire-kicking, which meant we had to wait a few minutes before working with a salesperson. This wasn't a big problem, but it is a testament of the atmosphere. If you have no patience for tire-kickers or kids running around, it might not be the best furniture shopping experience for you. We were fine to put up with it, but it's definitely worth noting. For both purchases, we opted for delivery because their prices are good and it was so convenient! Each time, they arrived within the scheduled window, communicated clearly, were efficient yet took the time to explain care instructions, and were respectful of our home. With the purchase of the mattress, they even removed both the old mattress and box spring included in the delivery!

    My wife and I visited Jordan's Furniture yesterday to shop for a spare bedroom set and two…read moremattresses with box springs. When we arrived, we were greeted by an employee who initially seemed interested in helping us. As we walked through the bedroom showrooms, we didn't immediately see what we were looking for, and the employee began trailing behind us with noticeably less engagement. Before long, she was on her phone and no longer paying attention. When I turned to ask her a question, she had disappeared entirely. We continued on our own and eventually found a set that might have worked for us, but there was no one available to assist. At that point, we decided to leave and return to one of the other furniture stores in the area. As we were walking out, we saw the same employee enthusiastically greeting another couple, while completely ignoring us. The lack of attention and follow‑through cost Jordan's a very significant sale, and unfortunately the experience was poor enough that we won't be returning. On the other hand, our experience at Furniture Superstore was the complete opposite, attentive, helpful, and professional. We purchased everything we needed there.

    I used to happily buy furniture (South Portland store) but these last two experiences have left me…read moreincredulous and I will not be returning. First, they delivered my brand new couch and ottoman in the pouring rain without it being fully covered. Aside from my entire wood floor being covered in water from the delivery men, the couch got water on it. Then I noticed it had tears in it so I had them take it back. The delivery man also swore twice - he was in a very bad mood, it seemed, with the rain. It was a very unpleasant experience. The manager, to "make it right" told me he would work with me on pricing if I wanted to come back in and see if there was anything I wanted so I wouldn't have to wait 3 more months. I went today and he couldn't bother to come out of his office to see me in person, despite our email communications. In addition, his sales person told me I was being "very rude". I could her her telling the manager about me after. I was definitely exasperated when I told her specifically what I needed had to be available in leather and she brings me upstairs to see a piece that she knew wasn't available in leather. I was interested in two pieces and it was such a minimal discount it was absurd. It was SUCH a bad experience I will not be going back. A friend told me how she had ordered a chair from there but when she sat on the chair it wobbled. The manager was going to send someone to look but wasn't really prepared to do anything much, but then my friend found out, through a call to the warehouse, that it arrived without legs and the warehouse put some legs on it that they had. The warehouse guy knew it wobbled, but thought it was the warehouse floor. They've gone way downhill and sadly, I won't be back.
