He was also nice enough to wait for us to arrive in order to show us our rooms and give us a tour. Very nice guy. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well decorated. I have never slept in such a comfortable bed in a hotel...the pillows and comforter are heavenly. After a great rest, we woke up to muffins and coffee in the lobby, homemade by his wife. Kayaks/canoes on the property are available to use at no charge. There is also a fire pit, cornhole, and a bookcase full of board games. Do not let this 10,000 sqft/ 40 acre property fool you - it is a very intimate location that allows you to escape from city life and reconnect with nature and your company.

It feels like a family house. I am so pleased and so blessed to have been here and experienced this place. It's very simple and you share a bathroom (there are two...go down the hall) but it's adorable. Please stay here and support this wonderful woman. She's amazing! I just met her obviously this was my first time on the island but this will hands down be a go-to. Pro tip: go to the grocery store down the street for water bottles. She keeps fresh cold water downstairs tho :) Yes the bar across the street is loud but it stops after midnight and if you're not up til midnight on vacation what are you doing? Save the festivities for the morning ;)

Let me explain... First off, the rooms share a communal bathroom. We were not told this or got any inclination of this from the website. That kind of puts a kink in things if one is planning a romantic intimate weekend. On top of it, there was a bachelorette party staying in the rest of the rooms at our end of the hall. And let me tell you, we could hear all the fun! There was no way we could use the bathroom for a shower or anything before dinner because they had taken over the place. Ugh! The topper of it all was the bar across the street. Its called Mustang Lounge. And it's a cute place to drink, hang out and dance BUT... if you feel like starting your romantic night at home any time before last call...KEEP DREAMING!!! They crank their music to a level that you can hear for BLOCKS! And yes, its loud dancing music. Don't get me wrong, that is totally my thing, but not when we had a different type of weekend in mind. Frankly, I don't know how the owners of the place get ANY SLEEP at all. Other than that the place was cozy and B&B-esk. The bed was quite comfy and the décor lilac/ purple focused. Everything was cleanly. Breakfast bagels, cereal, toast, bananas and coffee were set out till noon. Next time we might stay elsewhere.

At check in we bought our ferry tickets to go to Mackinac Island and they were discounted 4$ each, not a huge saving but was worth it. The site itself included a cute self serve coffee station and a well maintained walking path to a pretty view on the water. Our room was very clean. There was not any spot to set/store clothes, no fridge, small bathroom and the tv did not allow for any streaming/was outdated. If you are not planning to spend a lot of time in your room, this is a great stay. We did not hear our neighbors, there was a pool also. It is also within walking distance to the lumberjack show (which we did not go to but is a good location).

We never would've known to walk back there had this kind man not shared this with us. We came out here for a short getaway to see the island and check out headlands international dark sky park but this beach was way better then the park was. My boyfriend actually surprised me and proposed to me under the stars on this sweet little beach! It was perfect! This place also has a nice outdoor in ground pool. It's also really close to everything by like 5 to 10 minutes.

The owner was so kind, making our beds as we got there since she was not expecting anyone for the night. The cabin was very nice, we had 6 people in it. The lake in the morning is a must see, no boats were on the lake and it was truly serene. I definitely recommend!

We arrived in the dark, but the next morning opened the curtains to the most beautiful lake right out our front door. The owners even provide small boats for the use of the guests. We were compacting a lot of site seeing into a short time so we did not use the boats, but we sure enjoyed the beach chairs down by the lake. Everything was clean and well equipped. Marybeth and her husband went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable. This will be a destination location the next time we visit Michigan.
