Took my wife and daughter tonight for dessert and my daughter loved the Salted Caramel yogurt. The vibe is cool and the guys working were very helpful. Smart owners, they have their employees handle the sample cups for you. My daughter added two toppings and her yogurt still cost less than $4.00 so I was pleasantly surprised by the value. The only thing I would suggest would be that they post the cost per ounce, I couldn't find it posted anywhere. read more

We have been to this Yogurt Beach at least two dozen times. It's usually kids working - nice, hard working, respectable kids. The toppings are always full and never seem like old crap sitting out all day - and we generally hit them up at night. It's always clean and welcoming too. I am not one to leave poor reviews but I feel some things need to be handled. Last night my daughter and I went to this Yogurt Beach after hitting the gym, we got our yogurt and as I headed toward the register my heart sank as I realized my wallet was not in my bag. We'd already filled out cups with yogurt or I would have left and gone home to get it. I immediately called my son and asked him to bring it to me. When I got to the register I explained my dilemma to the nice young man and told him my son was coming to pay for it, and I also asked if I should leave the yogurt at the register until my son arrived? He said not to worry, to go ahead and sit down and eat it and that my son could pay as soon as he arrived. I was very apologetic, grateful and embarrassed about this situation! A few minutes later we were sitting down and an older short lady employee walked over flapping a receipt at me and said "who're the people who still need to pay?" (Loud enough for everyone around to hear) I said, "oh! It's me, I'm sorry, my son is on his way to pay for it" She went on to say, "next time we can't do this" I said, "I know I am sorry but the other employee said it was ok" She said "yeah but he's new, we can't do this". I said again that I was sorry but it was an accident, I forgot my wallet. At that point we were eating said yogurt so it wouldn't melt and I was very caught off guard as to how to react. I wanted to ask what should we have done instead, just set the yogurt down and walked out? Thrown it away? Accidents happen and at least I was doing my part to handle it. I was really embarrassed that she called me out in front of other customers and also that she was reprimanding the nice young man who helped me for his "mistake." I don't know if she is the owner or manager but don't ever forget your wallet of you go here as it's not allowed!!!! This location doesn't seem to honor their posted hours of operation. Tonight they closed twenty minutes before tthe posted closing time. The two young teenage girls behind the counter wouldn't look up from their phones. MMMMMMM.... all I can say. Frozen yogurt is awesome and Yogurt Beach always has a huge verity in the flavor and are constantly changing it up. I am a big fan of the oatmeal flavored, but they are not having that again until July! This visit I got the new peanut butter flavor with kiwi, mangos, and dark chocolate chips for my husband and I to share. It was delicious! Some friends, my husband and I decided to come here for a late night desert and appreciate the late summer hours! Open till 11! The staff are always so friendly asking right away if there is anything we want to try! We played Cards Against Humanity in the shop while enjoying our delicious frozen yogurt and the staff just smiled as they worked. Went after dinner for desert. They had my favorite peanut butter chocolate so I was super excited. There were pretty basic flavors and gluten free flavors so that is nice to accommodate everyone. The toppings had a ton of the basics from candy bars to gummies. Be careful with how much you get because they weight them. The table was sticky I think one of the staff could of wiped them down when people left. Otherwise great place for desert after dinner. read more

Yogurt beach is one of the better frozen yogurt places that I've tried in the Reno/Sparks area. The place is clean. They have new flavors all the time. The topping selection is great and they have a lot of fruit toppings. The price per oz. seems to be right on par with most other places. The seating is fairly limited so I usually get mine to go. The location is close to my house so its not melted when I get home. The staff is usually pretty nice but most times they are very busy. read more

The kids and I love going to yogurt beach! They always have delicious yogurt and a bunch if toppings to choose from. The people are always friendly and they never seem annoyed when you ask for samples. They are always wiping down the topping area so it stays clean. The place is always busy and sometimes they don't get to wiping down the tables fast enough. All in all we love this place and will continue to come here often! read more

CLEAN! The pictures here don't do this place justice. It was beyond packed when we arrived. We were greeted by an employee -seriously?! Asking if we wanted to try anything. The fruit was separate from all the candy toppings and looked clean and fresh. WARNING for peanut allergy folks. The first couple bins of candy toppings do have nuts. My husband and I love frozen yogurt whether it is 95 degrees outside or 37 degrees outside. This location is closest to us so it is the one we frequent the most. The staff seems to be ever changing, but the people they hire are always friendly and quick to ask if you would like to taste a flavor of yogurt. They usually have a large selection of flavors (at least a dozen to choose from) and most of them are pretty good. They have fruity flavors and then more "exotic" flavors such as Cake Batter or Cookies & Cream. They also have seasonal flavors such as Santa's Hot Chocolate with Peppermint. My husband was lamenting that they did not have just plain chocolate, but settled for the chocolate custard which he said was better than he remembered. Of course they have about every topping you can think of: fresh fruit, nuts, candy, cereal, hot fudge, sprinkles, mochi, etc. They also offer floats and shakes. They also have canned soda and bottled water available for purchase. I like their frozen yogurt, but for whatever reason I have to limit my consumption or I end up with an upset stomach (not just from over indulging). The shop is always clean though I do find the tables to be a bit sticky. Not sure if this is because they need to be wiped down better or if it is the coating on the table top. The last two times we went, we sat at the same table and it felt sticky both times. However, the yogurt dispensers and toppings bar are always clean, appealing, and well stocked. Highly recommend Yogurt Beach if you are looking for a sweet, frozen treat! read more

The sign on the door says closes at 10:30pm. We showed up and walked to the door and you could see the workers hiding from us in the back room. I called to ask if they were open and they said "ohhh we close at 10pm" and I said "oh is the sign on the door and google wrong?" And he said "oh I don't know but we close at 10". Mind you we came here last week and they were open till 10:30. While we were in the parking lot at least 5 cars pulled up looking confused as to why they were closed as well. Overall, you could tell the kids worming closed early and didn't expect me to call and ask why they closed. I didn't appreciate them hiding and peeking around the corner when I walked up to the door to check the hours. You could tell the worker who answered the phone sounded like he got caught. I totally understand wanting to close early but you have all these customers making the drive out there based on their hours only to have them blow us off upon arrival. Anyway, just be careful you might be wasting gas if you try to go 30 mins before closing. read more

Thank God being addicted to yogurt doesn't make me want to sell my Mom's fine china for yogurt money and cause her to schedule and intervention. I would not be a success story. I LOVE FROZEN YOGURT, or "fro-yo" as the cool kids apparently call it. When it comes to places like U-Swirl or Yogurt Beach, you pretty much get the same product no matter where you go. "Technically." I think that Yogurt Beach has more toppings to choose from than U-Swirl- which is great. They usually have raspberries and those are my other addiction, but this review isn't about my weakened self-discipline against berries, it's about frozen yogurt. I have no idea how many toppings they have, but it's a lot. More than the average person would know what to do with, I'm sure. If you can't find what you want here - you probably don't need it anyway so stop being so hard to please! They have a whole wall of sugar-y toppings, but I'm more of a fruit guy myself so I can't exactly comment on those. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I don't put it on my yogurt, but it's great with soy milk. I would say that they have close to around 20 or so different yogurt flavors that they switch out pretty regularly, so if you're looking for something new - you can always make a return trip and be satisfied. The store is family owned - I know this because the sign out front says so and signs never lie. I can say that I've never entered the doors without being greeted, and that can be a defining moment for any type of experience like this. Everyone is very friendly, and you can sample flavors, too - so you certainly won't leave unsatisfied. P.S. try their smoothies sometime. A+! read more

Of all of the yogurt places I have tried, this one is by far my favorite. They have great flavors of ice cream. I love the pineapple/coconut swirl in the summer and the Valencia Orange/Madagascar Vanilla swirl any other time of the year. However, they have some other good flavors as well (Egg nog in the wintertime and Watermelon sorbet in the summer). What I love about their yogurt is their flavors are usually pretty accurate of what these things taste like (which makes me wonder if they actually use some of the item in their yogurt). Other places try to hard with their yogurt or don't try enough. Also, you can always count on there being different flavors whenever you go into the store. The toppings are pretty standard for most yogurt places although they seem to have two times as many of any other yogurt place. Obviously, a must go! read more

This place is awesome. I love the plethora of toppings and the 12(ish) choices of flavored yogurt. The cheesecake flavor is definitely my favorite, but I have yet to try them all. They also added more chairs for outside seating, which is really nice to relax in the sun eating 'heaven in your mouth'. My only gripe would be that the last time I went there (about a week ago,) they didn't have the cheesecake flavor. Apparently, they go through flavors all the time, so they have to transition them out. I would think cheesecake would be one of the most popular, so they should substitute something else for the new flavors, instead. Just my two cents. read more

I was pretty surprised by this little yogurt place! I loved being able to design my on little frozen yogurt sundae with all the toppings. I chose the Kona and Cheesecake flavored yogurts with cheesecake chunks, brownies, and Nilla wafers...YUMMY! Then hubby had the chocolate and Kona flavored yogurt with brownies and white chocolate chips. Once you've finished filling your bowl, you just pop on over to the register and place your bowls on the scale. The cost is .33 per ounce....we both had very full sundaes and each cost about $4.60. Just alright for me. Visiting this area I wanted to try a new place while on vacay. The flavors we're so-so.....tried multiple samples as served by staff. I didn't care for that at all. Would prefer to get my own sample from the machine and take my time deciding on a flavor rather than someone staring at me while I decide. I ended up swirling chocolate and vanilla. Both flavors very sweet and heavy. Felt like a stuffed pig afterwards. Think I swirled a little too much. I have many yogurt places to compare YB to and for me this didn't stack up to others I've been to. Also felt some of the toppings should have been better kept chilled than set out at room temp. Prices a little steep per ounce. So all in all not terrible just ok. read more

Since the last time I reviewed Yogurt Beach, I had to go Gluten Free (on 10/10/2012). I actually have a rather severe intolerance and get sick if I eat gluten, BUT all is well when I go to Yogurt Beach! ;) Several (most, I believe) of their flavors are Gluten Free! They have them clearly labeled at this particular Yogurt Beach, too. I'm not sure if any of the toppings are labeled gluten free, but they do have some yummy fresh fruit. You just need to consider if there may have been some cross-contamination, if that is an issue for you. We still go here often and love it every time! read more

ALOHA!! Always welcomed by the staff, this place is a really "cool" treat any time of the year. With about 14 flavors to choose from (which some rotate through to different flavors on occasion) you are bound to find something that tickles your taste buds. And that's only the beginning as you can top your frozen yogurt with about 50 different toppings...some healthier than others but what the heck, you're there to have a little (or a lot) of fun. Some of the flavors are non-fat, low-fat and gluten free. I personally am a glutton for gluten-free Madagascar Vanilla. Not because I need to be gluten-free, but because it's delicious and mixes well with my toppings, which are not gluten-free! The beach music, surfboard tables and lawn chairs outsides make Yogurt Beach a great place to sit and enjoy with the family. Great location too although ironically there are two dentistry offices within a stone's throw...just in case you get a little too greedy with the toppings. But hey, it's delicious so why not indulge a little?! Rumor has it that you can take your cup and toppings and they will mix it into a shake for you...hmmmm...Pricing is fair too (around 42 cents/ounce) and if you get your punch card you get one free after 12 I think...which seems easy to go through! All the staff is super friendly here. They lat you try the flavors before you buy. It's only .33 cents and ounce so it's an inexpensive treat. I've loved everything I've tried there, but my favorites were Vanilla Custard and Oregon Blackberry. I've never seen so many toppings in my life!! I always have to visit Yogurt Beach when my family is in town. They love it. It is a fun place and I love the surfboard tables. Fun! Anyhow, the place is clean and the yogurt flavors are good. They change them seasonally which is pretty cool. There are a lot of toppings to choose from so that makes it even better. They are always pretty busy when I have been there. Such a cute decorations. Its definitely a place where a lot of teens hang out on the weekends. They are open until 11 on Friday and Saturday! The frozen yogurt is super fresh not runny and odd tasting like some other places. All the candy and other toppings are put away nicely in all the correct bins and not all over the floor or mixed in with each other. The ladies that work here are very nice and helpful. I live in Truckee & go out of my way to visit Yogurt Beach -- even if it's late morning, I just can't resist. This shop is self-serve & they have 10-15 flavors, something to please everyone. The people who work here are always & consistently friendly-- asking if you've been there before, asking if they can provide a sample. But the real treat is the TOPPINGS. There are so many toppings -- a huge variety & surely something to satisfy everyone (Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bars, strawberries, pound cake, cheese cake, Oreos, and on & on & on). Prices are good. I can get a smallish yogurt with toppings for under $3. Go... you won't be disappointed. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to this yogurt shop. It would have been helpful if I had read the reviews before I went inside so I would not have looked so stupid when I first walked in. It is great that you go to the back of the store, pick up your bowl, be it paper or waffle, then find the flavor that you like. WOW, they had so many flavors to choose from. It was hard to choose, but when I found the cheese cake flavor with Organ blackberry in the same machine, I stopped looking. This was a great combination. The off to the toppings area. Nice selection there also. In the toppings I also did not complete my exploration of that area. I just had almonds, M&Ms and Butter-finger chunks, then off to the fresh fruit. I only used the strawberries. I was tempted to had fresh mango, but did not. As with what I read, I tried to keep my helping small. but did not succeed to well at that. Oh well it was wonderful. My only real complaint about this place is the location. I do not get into that shopping center often and have a hard time finding my way back out to the street going in the direction that I wish to go. read more

When my son and I first went into Yogurt Beach, we though we'd hit the jackpot. They have every possible topping you could possibly imagine. However, I almost think it's too much. I wonder about the freshness of the toppings; they are stored in rather large containers. As I watched my child add animal cookies, caramel cups, and hardened chocolate to his cup, I remembered that we had gone there because I thought it would be healthier than ice cream.
