    Carrot Cake

Cafe in Tahoe. The order included a carrot cake and vanilla cupcake in the morning ~8/9am, and the bakery had run out of other flavors by that time which we were surprised about. +: carrot cake was solid -: out of other flavors

We were visiting a friend's family home just down the road from this quaint bakery. She had told us they open at 7am, and we took the initiative to walk there at that early hour to have our pick. My eyes widened at seeing the glass cases- how do you even choose?! The sweet cashier gave me her fave as a recommendation, so I took the Orange Morning Bun- delicious with orange zest! I thought I would eat some now and some later....NOPE! Had it all in one sitting. Also, had a turmeric latte with oatmilk and it was the BEST golden latte I've ever had. Perfect blend of spices, including the nutmeg and the cinnamon. Can't wait to be back.

Great little bakery/coffee shop in Tahoe City/Dollar Point! Our family visited 2 days in a row. The inside is small so no seats, but outside did have some chairs available. Service was very friendly and the coffee was delicious! Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

I had the vegan tahini chocochip oat cookie and blueberry banana bread for breakfast. Both were great. In fact, the bread was not sweet at all which works for me! What I did not appreciate was the service. The guy at the counter who took our orders was rude. Not sure what could be the reason. Also our empty cups that we had ordered matcha latte in fell on the floor and was kicked around before it was placed back on top of the counter again by the guy where he proceeded to fill it with ice. I had to explicitly request him to replace the cups since they had fallen and were kicked on the floor with shoes. This felt like an act of negligence on the cleanliness front. Would they prefer having coffee in a cup like that? I don't think so, then why serve it to your customers?

Tahoe bakeries are a true treasure! We tried the cinnamon roll, and one of each of the chocolate chip, butterscotch pretzel and oatbomb cookies. Everything was fresh and delicious. Next time I'm trying the pistachio donut!!! My favorite was the oat bomb cookie. They also serve lunch items! Also ordered iced coffee and iced tea - both were good! Fast service and quaint - tucked into the dollar point neighborhood. Pro tip, take your goods down to Skylandia park beach and enjoy the treats by the water! Enjoy!!

Out of the way spot with an amazing breakfast burrito. 4.5 stars Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best breakfast burrito in Tahoe City Highlights: - Breakfast burrito: delicious soft fluffy cheesy eggs and soft potato cubes that seemed simple but somehow was utterly amazing. I added sausage and came with a tasty link sliced lengthwise. Came panini pressed and piping hot. 5 stars. - Quiche: rich and smooth, the staff heat it up for us. 4 stars - Savory bacon and cheese biscuit: tasty and dense. 3.5 stars - Huge ham cheese croissant with crunchy cheese on top. 3.5 stars - Friendly upbeat staff helping me Midlights: - Just a counter inside--only a few seats outside. - Only everything bagels--none plain. Lowlights: - Parking: small lot and not many options outside of that in this spot that is by the woods not on a main street - Can get crowded: at 10am on a Sunday was no line but then after I ordered looked back and saw 12 people in line behind me! - Runs out of options: would've loved to try the chocolate croissant. Would definitely come back for another breakfast burrito and to try more goodies.

Pre-ordered some delicious cupcakes for a birthday/baby shower event. That process was super easy - was able to place the order request online. Received a confirmation response pretty quickly and called to pay the next day. We picked them up in the morning and grabbed some coffee, chai, and breakfast while we were there. Everyone we interacted with were really friendly and got us our items quickly. Super cute small walk up cafe, small group of chairs outside, dogs welcome (of course). Parking is pretty limited, recommend parking on the road and walking across to the cafe.

What cute bakery and coffee shop! All of the baked goods looked amazing, it was hard to pick just one. Everything looked fresh. We ended up with a ham and swiss croissant and a parfait. So yummy. You walk up and order your coffee and they call your name out at another window out front. There are a few chairs to sit at out front of the bakery.

The staff was able to seat us right away, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing after we were seated. We had to ask for menus, and it took quite a while for someone to take our order. In fact, the bartender ended up taking our order because no server had come by. At about 7:00 they came to take our plates off our table that were staged when we sat. I mentioned we haven't received our chicken appetizer and she said "oh yah sorry it's coming" but still walked off with the appetizer plates to put the chicken on. Our food didn't arrive until about 7:10 p.m., and one of the meals was completely incorrect. On top of that, our food came out at different times instead of being served together. The portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price point. I ordered the Mahi tacos, which had only a small amount of fish and slaw, although each taco did include a generous amount of avocado. My husband's Hawaiian BBQ which he added Kalbi beef was also a very small portion and didn't feel worth the $36 price tag. We were so hungry that we didn't even get to take photos. The hostess was very enthusiastic about clearing our table and was attentive in that regard. Lily, our server, was kind and pleasant, and honestly, I felt sorry for her because she appeared to be the only waitress working. We had to ask for our check at the end of the meal, but Lily did comp our chicken wings because of the service issues, which was appreciated. Overall, the prompt seating was a good start, but the slow service, incorrect order, staggered food delivery, and small portions relative to the prices made for a disappointing dining experience. While Lily did her best, it seemed like the restaurant may have been understaffed.

What an incredible first visit to Taste in Plymouth!…read more The restaurant itself is cozy, beautiful, and has such a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Our server, Bessie, was absolutely amazing, kind, funny, and so helpful in answering all of our questions during our first visit. Now, onto the food! The appetizers alone could have been a meal. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had, and as a girlie who doesn't usually love soup, I have to say the corn soup my husband ordered was delicious bursting with flavor and perfectly creamy. My husband chose the burger with truffle fries, and they absolutely nailed it. The bacon jam, arugula, goat cheese aioli... every bite was incredible, and the fries were amazing. I had the steak with scalloped potatoes and carrots, and as someone who typically likes her meat well done, I can honestly say this steak was excellent. Dessert was mouthwatering and packed with flavor. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of food and exceptional service we received. We visited on Saturday, the day before Father's Day and two days before my birthday. Not only did they personalize my dessert with a birthday message, but they also surprised me with a birthday card signed by the team. Then, just five days later, a handwritten thank-you card and birthday wishes arrived at my home. That is the kind of service that leaves a lasting impression. Thank you, Taste, for such a memorable first experience. We will absolutely be back!

We also added the wine pairing. The mushroom cigar was to die for. I ordered halibut for my main course. It was cooked to perfection. The hint of tarragon in the vegetables was delicious and the risotto ball was excellent. I always order Affogato. Unfortunately I forgot to order decaf.
