Finally took a bite and the milk chocolate was very creamy and smooth- The pistachio crème was also smooth- I prefer the Dubai chocolate with the crispy bits that I can bite into- these did not have them..or I noticed.. I went in to pick up the annual chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day, and I love that it's just as neat as it's always been. The strawberries are such a treat! The hubby gets a big box and the kiddos get a 6pack so they leave their dad's alone! Thought I took pics of the cutest designs on the berries: FAIL! We're also picked up a few li mini boxes for some of my son's teachers because they're great. Of course, the son was with me so rolled ice cream was necessary. This is a place you're unable to contact and nobody picks up the phone. They don't answer your emails. They're shipping price is $20 for an item that only paid like $14 for I mean come on priority mail not that damn much and like I say, I called him no answer. I emailed them to cancel the order no answer just bad customer service. They just charged me and I guess they're gonna send me the product. We came here on Wednesday and ended up chatting with Dustin for quite a while. He's one of the owners. He talk to us about his chocolates and gave us a couple of samples. The caramels were excellent! He also explained how their ice cream is individually made to order. . We said we would be back later that day but my step brother ended up in the hospital and we were at Saint Mary's all afternoon and evening. We made an effort to go by on Thursday at noon before we headed home to Southern California. Sophia warmly greeted us upon arrival and provided a great show while making our ice cream. My husband had the chocolate with Marchiano cherries and thought it was amazing. I went with the peanut butter bomb using chocolate ice cream. We also bought some caramels to take home with us. We will definitely return next time we come to visit our parents. read more

What's not to love about another Dorinda's location ? Now I'm equal distance from The Village and the Riverside Drive locations. Just like the other, you can get your chocolate and rolled ice cream fix here. Walk in the front and peruse the packaged chocolates, or check out the large case on the right for individual handmade delights. Then to the back of the shop is the rolled ice cream counter. Place your order and pick your chocolates, then pay altogether with card or cash. There's no seating inside, but on a beautiful day there is plenty of comfortable seating located all around The Village. Dorinda's has been my locally made favorite chocolate for years now. I've lost track. Always fresh with no preservatives. The sea salt caramels are the perfect gooey cube dipped in decadent dark chocolate with just the right amount of sea salt resting on top. The dark chocolate bars with cocoa nibs or sea salt are the perfect nibble in the evening. Prescored for a precise bit every time. And teaming up with Hub Coffee- Dorinda has created a crunchy sensation. There's my three favorites if you ever need a gift idea for me. :) This new location has a large parking lot on its back side for quick and easy pick ups. Love Dorinda's chocolates and they were serving up some tasty hot chocolate for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony last night. Topped with marshmallows and cinnamon, it was a warm welcome and took the chill off from our chilly Reno evenings. Lots of foot traffic at the shop in the Village at Rancharrah off of Kietzke. As far as I'm concerned Dorindas is the best chocolate in all of the United States. And believe me I have done the research including European locations such as Switzerland, Italy and France. I remember fondly when I happened upon Dorindas shop along the river in Truckee. I was walking downtown from my place there and saw the sign which wasn't really visible from the main road. I went in and met the famous Dorinda and sampled some of her chocolates maybe 10 years ago. She had closed that shop. We moved to Reno in 2018 and I saw another shop along the river walk and was beside myself with joy! This location is adorable but they are building a hideous structure literally right up not the property line. This was a parking lot so now it's tres difficile to find parking. I found a new store at the Rancharrah and it's so fabulous! Her son was working before Christmas and he was so nice. We spoke about chocolates around the world and he gave me a good education. We never stop learning! All the employees I've ever met with at both Reno locations are very kind and helpful. My most particular favorite are the chocolate covered cherries. The salted caramels run a close second. Her son told me she was Re-opening in Truckee so that's exciting news there for all her fans. I don't have any photos to share since I eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite color is purple and that's the color of the foil wrapping and the ribbons. Dorinda's is a reno local favorite and they are thriving! Their original location is off of he Truckee river, near downtown Reno. Their new location is in Rancharrah Village. Rancharrah. I'll she is a gorgeous outdoor shopping center, which is the perfect location for Dorinda's second location. Dorinda's is open from 12pm to 9pm daily. You can find all of your Dorinda's favorites! This location is open and spacious! Lots of greenery and yard games. There is ample parking. Come for Dorinda's and explore the shops. read more

Found this spot as a happy accident after visiting another business nearby. As a fat kid in denial, I had to visit. The selection was so amazing and I would have easily had one (or two or three) of each but I was able to control myself I only pick my top 5. It was not an easy decision but I am a strong man. Definitely would visit more often, good thing it is a little out of the way for me so maybe only for special occasions :) Just outside there is a fireplace and you can sit by and enjoy the creamy chocolates. It made for a good dessert, a relaxing time and a special moment with someone. read more

Dorindas has these little 1"x1" treats that run $2 a piece and are so freaking tasty. I had the peanut butter with nuts one and it was so delicious! Little on the pricey side for what you get but the taste just about trumps the cost. They had about a dozen or so different flavors when visited and the service in helping us decide which one to try was perfect. BTW Dorindas Chocolate goodness is located in the Rolled Mountain Creamery space within Ranch Harrah. Would totally stop in and try some of their other delicious small bites of goodness! read more

Never imagined the 'delish' fun of a mouthful of gorgeous wine and superior chocolates could be like this. Of the 4 pieces I tried, I had a tough time deciding which one I liked the most: Toasty Blonde or Wild Orange. It was a tie! A lovely event even with the raindrops! It was a bit tricky figuring out where your shop was, no large sign posted, so for a new local and a marketing exec., might I suggest better signage? Visited this location for the first time during Bacon, Bourbon and Brews event! The store is located in The Village at Rancharrah. It was quite busy when I went in so I took my time to look through their displays and available items for sale. Of course, I quickly found couple of things I liked! The chocolate covered mango were delicious!!! I finished the whole bag in one sitting LOL! The store was clean and the clerks were helpful. The glass display wasn't as full as I'd expect as it was towards the end of the day but still had a lot of choices. The store is a lot smaller in comparison to it's Downtown location so expect to bump into folks that want rolled ice cream. read more

Everything we got here was amazing, especially the award-winning sea salt caramels. The dark coconut, lemon and kraken candies also stood out for us. We got to meet Dorinda herself on our first visit, then stopped in again a few days later on our way back past to pick up some more caramels! read more
