Party of 7 in on 8/23 for dinner with a reservation. Called ahead to make the reservation, and the hostess that took the call was extremely helpful in setting up the reservation. In short, this place is amazing. We were vacationing in this area, we are from Rhode Island where there is an exceptional restaurant scene, and Yolked is a special place. We started with the mussels and focaccia bread. The mussels were amazing, I literally sipped the broth straight from the bowl! For entrees we had the cider brined pork chop, the street corn steak, the burger, the cod puttanesca, spaghetti and meatball, and a few poke bowls. Drinks were great, and food was amazing. No BS, the cider brined pork chop was the best pork chop over ever had (and was suggested / recommended by our server). Extremely disappointing experience. Took 45 minutes before they even took our drink order, hour and a half to finally get food. Restaurant wasn't even full at the time and one of the staff got food served to them at the bar while this was going on. Then didn't even get to finish our meal before the house lights came on and they started cleaning all around us. Didn't get offered dessert and was rushed out the door. Stop in early afternoon to get a menu to take home. Told they don't have takeout menus yet. But I noticed their restaurant paper menu so I asked if I could take a picture with my phone. Was told their menu is on line but it didn't match the menu they actually have in the restaurant. Why they couldn't give me that I don't know. So my husband and I stopped in at 4:45 and we were asked if we had a reservation. We said no. We're told no tables are available but could eat at the bar. There was not one table being used by anyone. A few people at the bar. I doubt all tables were going to be used at 4:45 or 5:00. We would have been out by 5:00 or 5:15. So we left. Second time in one day no real help in the restaurant for a customer. So we drove down the street went to another restaurant was seat immediately. Food and service was excellent. Spent more than we would have but great experience. I would think after the rather long time it took to open this restaurant they would want to make as much as possible. Absolutely the best restaurant I have been to in a year. We were visiting my sister in law in Casco from Portsmouth and she suggested this new restaurant. The inside is absolutely gorgeous with a rustic farm atmosphere. We shared crispy calamari and beef tenderloin crustini for apps. Truly the best calamari I have ever had and the beef tenderloin I could possibly have two as a dinner it was so delicious. Dinner choices were Aloha bowls (with grilled chicken instead of tuna). It was huge ..... my sister in law took half home. Of course my husband finished his entirely. I had the lemon chicken with asparagus and rice pilaf. Again, absolutely delicious. The owners are always on premises as she oversees the dining room, which is extremely busy and her husband is the chef. If you plan on being in the Windham, Maine area I would get online to reserve a table NOW! They fill up fast. Be prepared to have one of the best meals of your life! Can't wait to go back! read more

Definitely an upscale restaurant. It's a little pricey. The food is very good. We are seniors and like smaller portions. Ideal for us is where we can split a couple of courses. There are only a few items on the menu where that is possible. Most of their portions are way more than what we can eat but shy of being able to split. We don't like to take home leftovers. Their Caesar salad with chicken and a barbecue entree on the previous menu you could split three ways and was perfect for us. If you are price sensitive, it's not for you. If you' are celebrating a birthday or anniversary it's a first class winner! read more

We've been wanting to try Yolked since they started building out the restaurant. Tonight we finally had the chance to go to dinner there. It was really great! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was great. It can get a little noisy, but that isn't a bad thing - it's lively. I had the pork chop, which was delicious and beautifully prepared. My husband had the Gyro which was also great. I really like that they have some of the food truck items on the dining room menu. The wine list was outstanding - props for some interesting options that you don't find elsewhere, and the Old Fashioned Mocktail was REALLY good. Our server, Michaela, was knowledgable, professional, and really sweet. This is a great addition to the local dining scene. I can't wait to come back! read more

Tried this place out of curiosity and was surprised and impressed. The food is WONDERFUL. There's literally nothing here that isn't up to the same standard one would expect in NYC. The space is lovely and very chic. We've eaten here many times previously and really enjoyed it. On this occasion, we had a 6pm reservation and when we arrived we were quite matter-of-factly made aware that there was a 7:45pm reservation right after us. That was off-putting. I've never had that experience at a restaurant and we go out frequently, but we moved forward and went to our table. Dinner was good, the service was good although I did make the waitress aware of my food allergies and despite that, my appetizer was served with bread and the waitress did not acknowledge this. Not a huge deal, I simply didn't eat it and moved on. At the end of our dinner (7:30-ish) we were promptly reminded that there was a 7:45pm reservation and they had arrived. I found this to be exceptionally rude. We had a reservation and deserve our time for our dinner and not to be pressured to spend our money and move on. We were not lingering, we were paying our bill. We would have naturally moved on without the prompting. I fully understand the need to move things along and keep a restaurant functioning BUT the patrons matter also. I don't like feeling like the establishment just wants the money and doesn't care about the patron's experience. This did not sit well with anyone in our party. read more

We discovered Yolked food truck kind of by accident (long story) and ended up jumping in the car and driving there for dinner several weeks ago. (Yeah, it's taken awhile to get this review posted). We were excited to try this place, but in the end, it was just fine. The food just didn't feel as special to us as it feels to others. What bumped it from 3 to 4 stars for us was the person who waited on us and managed to find us again after we moved from a picnic table to chairs around a fire pit. It didn't hurt that it also happened to be a gorgeous Maine evening and we were surrounded by a very fun, friendly atmosphere. The food? We were truly were ok with the 40 minute wait, but we didn't think it should be almost cold when it finally arrived, so that was disappointing. We got the Barnyard Bowl and the Burrito - two meals that seem to be especially popular. Both tasted good, which is the definition of 4 stars. Still, good is good. Nothing to rave about. The portions were large, and since we are leftover eaters, we were able to get another full meal out of it the next day. For food truck food that just tasted "good", arrived almost cold, and was $20/meal, it was just too pricey. read more

While visiting with family in the Pine Land area, we ran across a brand new brewery called NU, so we stopped in for a taste. Adjacent to the freshly painted brewery was a food truck, aptly named Yolked, since all meals are served with a freshly cooked egg. Inside the truck is a man with 20-years of restaurant experience and it shows. Each entree is served with homemade potato chips, a special treat. Our party of four chose a different entree and loved them. For example, I had a turkey BLT, one of the most delicious sandwiches I had this year. Since it was a nice summer day, we chose to sit inside with air conditioning and pair a delightful beer, Oren. Great area with majestic views and Yolked and NU for a pleasant meal. read more

I made a review of this restaurant a while back and was harassed by the owner so badly I took my review down but after seeing other people are having similar issues I decided I am going to repost it. Made reservations for the last slot that was available that night which was also the last seating. Was told they ran out of the dessert we wanted and that it was our fault and should make earlier reservations next time. I only made mention of this in my review because we watched the staff eat the dessert we wanted literally right in front of us. We were rushed towards the end of our meal since it was clear the staff wanted to go home by turning all the lights on full blast, sweeping the table around us, putting all the chairs up and turning loud music on. The owner private messaged saying that my review was unnecessary and that she doesn't have time for this nonsense online. I am all for supporting locally owned businesses but I will support the ones that respect their customers and are open to constructive criticism. If you don't want your business to fail I suggest changing your attitude. People work hard for their money and it is a shame you treat them the way you do after they spend a lot at your over priced one star restaurant. read more

Really really wanted to like and support more than we did. Went Saturday night and it was Hawaiian shirt day...so busy bar. Food Truck busy but wait not unreasonable. My first choice not available so ordered Burger. Steve ordered Pho Ga. The good ----Steve really enjoyed his dinner. Nice noddles and the broth was very favorable and had a kick to it. So good he tried to finish broth like soup. Not so impressed with mine. Fries good. Burger cooked to medium well which dried it out, topping standard and roll dry and barely grilled. Might try again on a less busy night. Almost everything $15. On high side for what we get, but guessing if you have been drinking, $ not an issue. Thank you for the reply. We will def. Try again. Only good thing about this place was the staff. The fact that everything on the menu was $18 is absurd. Literally I bought chicken fingers and French fries for eighteen friggin' dollars is ridiculous!!!! They're located in New Gloucester not Gray not Portland , but New Gloucester! After all the build up too the fries tasted like they were reheated in microwave from some place else. So . Definitely don't recommend! read more

We recently visited Yolked on a Saturday evening. The space is beautiful and cozy with perfect ambient lighting. We were attended to right away. We ordered some cocktails and the focaccia appetizer. All were delicious. For entrees I had the lemon chicken and my husband the Aloha bowl. Everything was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth tender. Even the asparagus was perfect. I tried some bites of the Aloha bowl and it was to die for. For dessert we shared the creme brulee which was dreamy. I wasn't sure I would like the pecans on top but they added the perfect candied crunch. Our service was also stellar, our waitress was very friendly and had impeccable timing. We were impressed how quickly our dishes arrived. The menu is pricey but I think worth it. I would love it if they expanded the menu a little bit, but I understand they want to keep it small. We cannot wait to come back and are thrilled to have this fine dining option in the area. read more

NU brewing is great. The food truck has great food but it's very pricey. A burger and a fistful of fries, well actually doesn't matter. Basically everything is a minimum of $15 dollars. The food is great. But it's outdoors. There's seating etc sure but this is quality restaurant pricing. Not certain I buy gourmet food truck but maybe. One beer and a burger will run almost $26 with a tip. So bring your family ok, but have a fresh credit card. read more

We stopped at Nu brewing company in New Gloucester, Maine to try their beers. Yoked food truck was at the brewery, and our teenage daughter ordered the strawberry tapioca dessert. It was delicious!!! Chunks of coconut milk cubes covered with strawberry (and a hint of basil) tapioca, fresh strawberries, and almond milk. The chef was inspired by a dessert he had in Maui. This food truck is INCREDIBLE! I got the burger with a side of truffle fries and let me tell you that those truffle fries were the BEST FRIES I have ever eaten and the burger is the best I've had in ages. Really really really terrific. I annoyed my husband all night interrupting our movie with, "Honey....my sandwich was sooooo goooooooood" every 10 minutes (this is a true story). They are also super celiac friendly and I appreciated their care and consideration of my dietary needs. 12/10 would recommend! I am considering making the 2.5 hour drive up from Boston again soon just for the burger.....mmmmmm read more

Well prepared, utterly delicious food. Had fresh hand-cut French fries which were done perfectly. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich and I had an 8 ounce burger. Although somewhat expensive for this area, the portions were quite large and both meals were excellent. We especially liked the interesting condiments - my burger had pickled onion with a fried egg, and the pulled pork had carmelized onions. The owners were very nice, and all the food is local. It's a real farm to table operation. We will definitely be making this a regular stop. The only reason this is not five stars is because it's really not "haute cuisine", but as far as food truck food, I'd definitely give it 5 stars. read more

We stopped here after visiting the Maine Wildlife Park and so glad we did! The food was fabulous - lots of yummy choices and kid friendly options too! I love that owner sources locally and composts! There was also plenty of room for the kids to run around and play while we enjoyed a craft beer from NU Brewery! I wish we had a place like this close to where we live in Maryland. Every time we go to Yolked we are impressed! The food is always great- the poutine, the chicken fingers, sea salt truffle fries, and the lobster roll during the summer. The Mac and cheese got a thumbs up from my teen last night. Last night we went again-the power was out but the food truck was still serving. A little panic when we got there- there was no power and we didn't have cash. But they were still able to take credit cards.
