I held back when I shared my experience, but since the owner decided to ask me to take down my honest comment I would like to elaborate that my emotionally distraught child was having a moment after receiving bad news, and rather than demonstrate caring or concern the staff attempted to usher us out. We asked for a moment to calm the situation and we were not afforded the grace. These are difficult times. I do not recommend this place because that was a very hurtful experience. A few years back The Fray gave us "How to Save a Life". Fast forward to 2024 and a new release on Yolked Farm to Table Records titled "How to Go Out of Business Within the First Year". Yolked, I gave your milieu a try tonight out of curiosity. However, after being seated and perusing your menu I was out the door. The prices on your bill of fare are in the stratosphere for Windham, Maine. Maybe folks will shell out what you're charging in Boston or New York and maybe your market is the affluent seasonal tourista. Yet, for us who are locals who do t have deep pockets we will patronage Pat's Pizza. Your food may be other worldly and if so that's cool. If I can offer one piece of friendly advice it's to read the book, "The E-Myth". If you do you will understand why I am offering this suggestion. read more

Went for our anniversary, a poor choice in retrospect. We started with cocktails and apps., the focaccia and mini beef Wellingtons. The focaccia was ok but a very small portion for $10.00. The Beef Wellington consisted of 3 very small pieces of beef, flavorless except for the garlicky mushroom duxelle. The pastry surrounding the mix also had little flavor. The Tuna meal we both ordered was ok (6.5 out of 10), but again a VERY small portion for $49.00. Seared tuna with some chopped cucumber "salad" on top, sticky rice and ponzu on the side. Nothing imaginative to the meal or presentation. Best part of the meal was a slice of Apple caramel cake, although Apple was lacking in pieces or flavor and caramel was an afterthought drizzle. Service was very rushed and inconsistent; meal was rushed out literally when last app bite was completed ( bread was only half eaten). Server seemed not well trained on meal or meal spacing (the fast meal arrival may be a kitchen issue). I attempted to speak with a manager who came by briefly but came off as abrupt and not wanting to speak with a customer. Also, for a $200 dinner I'd expect servers in more than a Nike hoodie- a uniform color and shirt style seems more appropriate for upscale casual they are going for. Overall we came with high hopes and left very deflated, very disappointed with the experience and saying we "lived and learned,never again". read more

They charge fine dining prices but only allow 90 minutes to eat a three course meal and will ask you to leave your table as soon as your 90 minutes are up. I have never eaten at a restaurant where I was asked to get up from my table and leave. This is a terrible policy/dining model when you are charging fine dining prices. We spent almost $300 on a dinner for two and couldn't enjoy it because the service was rushed and we were constantly reminded of our time limit. I called the manager to give this feedback and she was rude and combative with me. Well this was a treat! I loved the Yolked food truck and was hoping the bricks and mortar restaurant endeavor wouldn't disappoint.....it didn't! The atmosphere is lovely and very inviting. We had reservations for 4 at 5:30 and were promptly seated. The food was really great! They were very accommodating with GF options as well. We had the mussels as an app, although I love bang island mussels, we weren't crazy about the preparation. This is only our opinion so please don't let it deter your decision. The entrees were all a home run and the portions extremely generous. Our guests claimed that the corn bread was the best they have ever had! The restaurant was busy and the service was friendly. I'm am SO EXCITED to have Yolked in Windham! My 3 friends and I had nothing short of an amazing dinner out. I really can't say enough great things. First off, yay for easy parking! No meters or garages to deal with as you would if you went into the Old Port to grab a similar quality bite to eat. The dining room is set up beautifully, giving off a calm and comfortable aura. Our waiter (Dan, I believe) had a playful and funny demeanor about him that was the perfect match for a girls night meal. The margarita was one of the best I've had. I don't know what was in there but I'm usually a flavored marg girl and this "original" marg was divine. The food.... OMG. I devoured the Street Corn Steak--straight up tore into it! The mexican flavors paired with the similarly seasoned rice and bean mixtures was perfect! I would have licked the plate if I was at home. No salt and pepper shakers are needed on the tables here because everything was executed to the highest level. Don't sleep on this place. I can't wait to go back! read more

We are usually very happy with Yolked. The food is great, servers very nice and it's a nice atmosphere. However, the last two times were not up to their previous standards. They are not very flexible, and were not able to accommodate one additional person, so we had to sit at the bar, which negatively impacted our celebration. As a side note, their bar seats are the smallest / least comfortable seats I've ever sat in. The next time we were told we only have 1-1/2 hrs to eat as the next group is coming in, despite being on time. Steak was overcooked and they ran out of desert by 6pm. Lastly, the owner / manager doesn't talk to her customers and frankly doesn't appear very happy. Your customers are your lifeline, if you can't show up happy and cater to your customers, you might be in the wrong business, despite a great concept. read more

We went here for our 25th anniversary yesterday. The place was empty but we were still seated next to the exit door/fire exit and fire extinguisher at a table the was beyond small. Our waitress was nice but had no knowledge of the menu. We know this because while waiting for 30 mins for our food the other waiter was very vocal about the dishes we should have ordered. My Husband ordered the steak which was completely over cooked and was bite sized. I ordered the salmon which I honestly tried to not show how I felt about it. I guess I do not have a poker face. It was one of the worse dishes I have had. It looked nothing like the discription or any of the on line pictures. I will say they refunded my portion of the meal but because of the close proximity to other diners it was humiliating. Horrendous experience for our 25th anniversary. read more

If you have seen my profile - Eggs are my favorite food (in any form). So when a friend asked me if I knew about Yolked Food Truck, I screeched in glee...First of all...YOLKED. You had me a YOLK! The second aspect that convinced me that I had no choice on whether or not to try this food establishment...They are permanently located at a Brewery!!! (Nu Brewery) - Come on...right there a perfect match in my mind. The place is off the beaten path which is pretty cool. You have to be either from the area, familiar with the beer community or have researched this place on Yelp to try. Perhaps this review will get you to think about considering it. :) First point I want to highlight - the owners are hardworking, welcoming and do everything they can, to grow or locally source the food and ingredients to create their delicious food. They have earned my business by being who they are and how they run their business. The food tastes so fresh - especially the eggs - the yolk on the poutine and the burger was rich and butter tasting. The french fries - deliciously seasoned, cooked perfectly. - Not too crunchy and not too soggy. I love that they are hand cut as well. So delicious, whether they are plain or covered in delicious gravy. They also offered 3 different types of ketchup. They do have "lighter fare" - salad, ramen bowls. - See pic of winter menu I uploaded. They also have homemade ice cream if you still have room to indulge. We had (4) in our party, started with the focaccia bread which was good and served with high quality olive oil. For main courses we had the risotto with mushrooms, rosemary chicken pie, pork chop, and 3 olives chicken. All entrees were very well executed, generous portion size, and great flavors. We ordered 3 desserts which were decent but not up to the quality of the entrees. The restaurant was busy and full and extremely loud, so loud we could not have a conversation with our dining partners. The prices are expensive, made more so when 2 of us ordered ice tea which they refilled and charged us again. $20 for a couple of glasses of weak ice tea seems excessive. The food is good, but with the very loud noise level and aggressive pricing policy we wont be back. read more

The ambiance of Yolked is like no other restaurant in Windham: modern, comfortable and minimal. The food is absolutely stupendous: its the nicest spot for a semi-fancy lunch or dinner. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the food and drink options are varied and top-notch. Phenomenal food (almost too beautiful to eat-- try the scallops), and inspired cocktail menu. The service is impeccable and even though the place is always packed, we were treated like we were the only ones there. The ambiance is lovely but it is so so loud... especially when there's a party. We did get used to it but it's not easy to have a conversation. Hopefully they'll do so well that they'll be able to get a larger place soon. Reservations a must. We had dinner there last week and came away delighted with every course, as well as their Little Sebago mocktail. We started with the seared scallops and a huge watermelon salad. Our main courses were the brick chicken and an aloha bowl. We finished with the blueberry lemon cake and a rhubarb crème brûlée. The salad and entree portions are large; so we had enough of the bowl leftover to bring home for lunch the next day. We were late getting there from Cape Elizabeth, but the hostess held our reserved table. Our waiter was very informed and personable. This place rivals any of the great spots in Greater Portland we frequent and is well worth the trip over to North Windham. read more

The first thing I noticed about the menu is that they charge $10 for a plate of focaccia bread - something most, if not all restaurants provide for free. I thought this was crazy, but another member of our party ordered it anyway. In virtually every other restaurant I've had focaccia bread, it was served with olive oil infused with spicy red pepper. At Yolked, It is served with plain olive oil - which had an unpleasant taste. I ordered the $32 spaghetti & meatball dinner. You might expect to pay that much for spaghetti in a fancy Boston eatery, but it's kind of a shock in Maine. For that price, Gordan Ramsey himself should prepare it! Sadly, this was NOT the case. Maine is not known for pasta - something I mentioned to the server, but she said it was fantastic, so I decided to try it. It was not. The tiny portion was under done, the sauce was bland and the meatball (only 1 of them), which was locally sourced (Maine beef???), was over done and dry. The dish included 3 dollops of ricotta cheese, which I don't like, so I have nothing to say about that, except that the server didn't offer anything like freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano, which one might expect for such a pricey plate of noodles. I ate maybe half of it before giving up on finding any semblance of flavor. Apparently, the waitress thought I was done because she took my plate when I wasn't looking - never asked if I was done. When I got her attention, I asked what she did with my food. She apologized and asked, "Oh, did you want to take it home?" I did ... but only to give it a proper burial. She offered me a free desert to make up for dumping my meal. I chose the chocolate chip cookie (2 for $8). It was better than my dinner, but that's really not saying much. As if all that wasn't bad enough, we had to sit at the bar because we didn't have a reservation. If you go there and sit at the bar, DO NOT sit st the the end on the left side, next to the restrooms. I did and was treated to a steam bath every few minutes. That's where the bar dishwasher is located and when emptied, the steam washes over whoever is sitting there. This happened about 6 times during the meal and neither of the people manning the bar ever apologized for it. The decor is lacking in imagination, with the possible exception of the upside down patches of grass hanging from the ceiling - which are more puzzling than anything. The staff is polite enough. Considering the taste and portion size, the food is definitely not worth what they charge. Needless to say, I do not recommend Yolked. read more

Very pleasantly surprised by how great this place is! The outside and signage does not match the beautiful interior. We felt like we were in a hip little restaurant in Portland. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The table was lovely, with real flowers and an adorable little lamp that I want for my house now. The server was mellow and knowledgeable. I had a dirty martini that was perfect. We started with the squash soup which was delicious! I had the salmon entree which was perfection. Crispy, sweet and salty all at once. We will definitely be back! I do hope they put up some sort of privacy screening (like opaque window film) at the bottom of their front windows to help reduce the lights from headlights of cars coming and going from their parking lot. It make it feel a little less exposed sitting there. Otherwise so great! read more

I had a chicken dish and my husband had a pork chop -- sounds simple -- but everything was fork tender, juicy and melted in my mouth! The wine was perfect. Dessert was perfect. Excellent farm to table restaurant in an unassuming building. Doesn't look like much from the outside, especially being in a little strip mall. But they've done a great job with the inside and the food and drinks were amazing! The mussels are some of the best I've ever had and the waiter suggested the pork chop dinner, which I was already leaning towards and I'm so glad that I got it! Highly highly recommend this restaurant in the middle of Windham! The prices are a little high, especially when you think of other offerings in Windham, but it is definitely worth it! read more

Went on May 18, everything was amazing from start to finish. The service is outstanding and the food, to die for! I was left speechless on how amazing the Lobster Linguine was. also, don't leave without getting dessert - you won't be disappointed!!! The quality of food served is the equal of anything found in Portland or Boston -- what a treat to have something like this as a local option. Greatness starts in the detail paid to small things, like the focaccia bread. Scallops were perfectly cooked, with all the other elements making a delicious dish. I was hoping this would be my go to, but guess I need to keep looking. The rural chic ambiance and wait staff are quite pleasant. They and menu prices set high expectations. My son's cocktail was not disappointing, unique and flavorful. Our meals however were just OK. He had the Street Corn Steak and I the Rosemary Chicken Pie. The steak topping was good, but the steak was a bit overdone. My pie was not a pie. It was soupy, bland chicken stew with a crust topping. A meat pie from any British pub would be far better. The staff were very apologetic but the food was really not good and not worth the money. So disappointing. I had the brick chicken and my husband had the lamb gyro.
