Lived in Ann Arbor for six years and this is my first time here! York uses beans from Mighty Good Coffee for their coffee items. I was excited to try a sandwich and coffee here so I got "The Cali" sandwich which has smoked turkey and gouda. It also has an ample serving of avocado spread and lemon basil aioli, which made it a very tasty sandwich! However, it was pretty pricy - $12.50 for a medium sized sandwich. The dark roast drip coffee was a perfect complement to my sandwich! I would recommend this place for a light lunch as it was the perfect meal for a sunny Saturday. York has adapted to the covid life and it is giving us a new gathering place outdoors in the York Yard. There are lots of tables and many are in the shade. The new Bao Boys food truck is open and they have several different tasty Bao filled with short ribs, pork, chicken sausage, etc. If you want a Heartier meal, you can get BBQ from Ricewood inside York (online or phone orders only right now). Or you can order something from York's menu which includes beer, wine, and cocktails. It's nice to be able to mix and match from all of the above. They also have some special (masked and with distance) events like singers or pop ups. They had someone selling sno cones with or without a shot. They are also having a Spanish food truck pop up. As a foodie, I can admit that this place, I probably would have never discovered. Seeing that I don't frequent Ann Arbor much and I've never heard of this place... But after a lapse in my attention span while out doing Lyfts, I lost my wallet after it slipped out of my pocket. A VERY kind gentleman happened to notice it, picked it up and took it to his job. Not just his job, his business! The freakin owner found my wallet!! He reached out to me after noticing a receipt in my wallet which had my number on it from a purchase at a local diamond shop. Reached out to me to let me know he found it and where to go to get it. Which brought me to this fine establishment. Now to the FOOD! I got a brekkie sandwich and it was soooo good! And the inside is crowded but a mostly laid back environment. The employees were also very kind and displayed great customer service. So if you're in town, this is a place that exhibits high morals, great customer service, delicious, quality food and a friendly ambiance. This is a place to spend your hard earned money at! Thanks to @coffeeannarbor for the great recommendation. @yorkannarbor was such a great place and had lots of choices with a full bar including hot adult beverages. Check out the adult hot chocolate made with Calder Dairy chocolate milk and your choice of liquor including a coffee liqueur, full deli with @zingermansbakehouse bread, a wine shop that also sells by the glass, and pop up food windows including @ricewoodbbq and @baoboysaa . . . . @thebitetonight and I picked up some famous pimento cheese and bagel chips from Zingermans before heading over. A Rosser introduced M&Y to me as a good study spot with lots space/tables & I love it! Apparently they've expanded in the last year or so, so they have an ENTIRE back area of wine on wine on wine! We posted up for the afternoon & I had a quick lunch bite: *Mediterranean Tuna Salad ($12.5 - Ortiz Bonita Spanish tuna, sun-dried tomato, Nicoise olives, red onion, celery, scallions, lemon juice, toasted Farm Bread) - Because I'm not a big mayo fan, I love that the default tuna salad is SANS mayo. Solid sandwich - no complaints. I had it with some tasty Route 11 Dill Pickle Chips. Never had Route 11 prior to this,but they were founded in VA - reads kind of like Cape Cod chips to me. The ambiance is cool and there are plenty of tables to choose from. Not so much for brunch--ok, I'm going to say "enough" options for brunch. What was super disappointing was the food. The comté & tomato bocata was the most basic bread, cheese and two thin slices of tomato (the cook must be an artist, because gosh, the tomato slices are the thinnest I've seen in my life). They also barely touched the bread with olive oil. It was also highly priced. It was ridiculous. Next, my out-of-town friend ordered an avo toast, and it was so small, you could eat it in 4 bites. Same price: ridiculous. It was embarrassing because this was supposed to be a special brunch to catch up, but the food was subpar. The service was average. Nothing to complain about, nothing to praise. Anyway. the place is kind of cool, but if I ever go back, it would be just to have coffee or tea, and work on my computer. No. I didn't take pictures. I wish I had just to show the unimpressive food. Would I recommend this place? No. Would I go back? No. Really... there are other places where I can go, have coffee, and use my computer. First edit: I've just seen a picture of avo toast and egg that someone else posted: no, that is not what my friend was served. The avocado was the skimpiest I've seen in my life. Amazing, affordable barbecue from the Ricewood BBQ booth inside. Highly recommend the pork ribs and pork belly (tastes astoundingly like juicy, fatty brisket)! Rice part of the bowl was a bit too saucy/strong for our taste, might do a la crate or sandwich next time. From the York menu side, we got a pork & cheese charcuterie board that was a bit pricy $15 but solid, esp the cheeses. The hot cider alc drink was the star of the show that was delicious, strong and cozy. Good IPA too during happy hour. Great study area with WiFi and also outdoor fire pit and back area couch/lounge near the wine room. Will be back. read more

York has been a fixture on Packard, just South of Stadium, for many years and is known for outstanding wines, unique cheeses, choice deli meats and of course great coffee. This review captures two visits...a breakfast and a takeout lunch. Since last year's pandemic, York has added a sizable patio in its side of yard for outdoor dining. This hugely popular patio is outfitted with tables covered with brightly colored canopies providing welcomed shade throughout the summer months in Tree-town. For breakfast, we did a Parmesan bagel w/ ham & eggs and York's famed Avo Toast w/ added eggs on toasted farm bread. The Avocado can be a little sloppy to eat but the taste is over the moon. Our takeout lunch included their highly-touted "The Cali" comprised of smoked Turkey, avocado spread, smoked Gouda, red onion and tomato on toasted 8-grain. With a very first bite, my wife concurred with all hype...this Sammie rocks! I ordered the "Roast Beef & Taleggio" made with rare Angus beef, Italian semisoft Taleggio cheese, red onion and arugula on a French baguette. Like the Cali, this sandwich also struck gold. The beef was absolutely top shelf. I'm throwing York the fiver based on the outstanding quality and taste of its offerings and very efficient and courteous service. read more

This is a review of getting drinks late Friday evening, so I can't attest to much more. We came here around 9 pm. Our professor suggested this spot for everyone to hang out after a long week of work and then grad classes afterwards. I went to the bar to order and the bartender took my classmates orders and did not acknowledge me even with a credit card out. After he took the orders of two people who came after me, I said excuse me to get him to look at me. I definitely didn't feel welcome. He also didn't ask what size and produced / charged me for something larger than anticipated. He swiped my card and didn't say anything, not even a thank you. The only positive was the outdoor space. The fire pit is a bit dicey, so find a heat lamp. Even still, hard to give it an extra star when one doesn't feel welcomed. read more

Really, this place is like a 4.5 stars! I've been here at least four times. Twice to do work/study, and twice to have meetings. This place is great for both. Large tables both high top and desk tables make for great meeting spaces. You can spread out all your things and really settle in for some time. High top tables are great for chatting with friends. Every time i'm here, there seems to be a lot of people, but still places to sit. By far one of the best coffee type places in Ann Arbor (besides maybe Sweetwaters) that is good for settling in and working in a group environment. Let's talk about the feel. Lots of natural lighting and overhead lights, which gives the place a cheery, warm feel. The tables and chairs are mildly uncomfortable and hard, so I wouldn't call this place cozy (like an Espresso Royale). It's more of a functional deli/coffee shop/winery/bbq place if anything. Let's talk food. Their bocattas are delicious. And i'm right now i'm munching on a pork and cheese charcaturie board that is more than satisfying for lunch. My bf had their pickle chips and roast beef sandwich which he liked. Get the pickle chips! ALSO GET THE ORANGE JUICE! It's self-made here. I don't know why, but it really hits the spot if you're looking for something tart and bright and will give you a pick me up! Things are definitely on the pricier end here, but they don't skimp out on portion sizes. My mocha is 4 dollars for a small but it's a good size for me. I have yet to try their wine/bbq here but one day i will! The service here is awesome! Super chill staff who are happy to give recommendations for people like me who get overwhelmed by choices. Parking is weird here, unless you know to park in the back. The front parking lot is small and cramped. Limited outdoor seating ,but i've seen people bring their dogs here and stay outside which is a nice option. My only complaint, is that I wish they had more plugs! If you're coming with friends, bring a power strip. Also, their bathroom is nice but REALLY dark. It's kind of weird, because you walk from a well lit airy coffee shop deli feeling into a dark bathroom like you're at some underground club. Just put some more darn lights in there! Overall, a 4.5 stars. I'm excited to come to Morgan and York. I've had nothing but positive experiences here and great conversation. I'd like to try their booze. read more

I went here for the first time the other week. The Bao Bun truck is by far the highlight! They get 5 stars. However the wine inside does not. We ordered a bottle and paid the $10 cork fee to get ice and wine glasses and headed outside. We later wanted another bottle and went to purchase it. When they charged us $10 again, we asked why as we already have ice and glasses and the lady said "it's because we charge for wine glasses and ice"... okay... we already have that, why do we pay twice. Her reply was "thats all I got for you". We would have paid graciously if she could give us a good reason or polite reason but she got snottier as the time past. Next time we will be skipping drinks and just getting bao buns to go. The other drinks on the menu were very overpriced for the size $12-15 for tiny little glasses of cocktail with lots of ice. The outdoor area is super cute here, but just beware of hidden fees and poor customer service. read more

When I first moved to Ann Arbor from Southern California obviously I had to relearn where all my favorite places were. Coffee in Ann Arbor is incredible but where was going to be my new place to frequent and walk around without failing to buy something? So I stumbled upon York one day when I was looking for a place to buy wine. Their wine selection from around the world is unreal, I am focusing on the French wines but haven't even begun to make a dent in their collection - which is always changing since their wine director is always bringing in new wines. Leona, one of the wine department employees, is extremely friendly and always gives me amazing recommendations. Aside from the wine department, they've got a full bar with yummy drinks and a full deli with sandwiches, coffee/latte bar, cheese boards you can order to enjoy outside in their cool yard, as well as delicious cheeses you can order for home. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the Bao truck outside (sorry, but flavors are not authentic). Needless to say, I now spend a ton of time frequenting this place I wanted to even get a job here! COVID has really made socializing and going it hard. Getting tired of being couped up, I started looking up places that had outside seating. York has just what I needed. There were multiple fire pits spread through out their outdoor area and some tents that were open. It was a very comfortable setting to be able to get out and still feel safe. I didn't really know how the place worked and no one really told you. When we walked in, I assumed we went to one counter for food, but was later told there were more than just one food counter. The negative is that when walking in, there are a bunch of staff just hanging out and talking, not being helpful. They weren't rude or mean, just would have been nice to be greeted and asked if we were first time customers so that we could learn how the place worked. I got a spiked hot chocolate and was in heaven drinking that and sitting beside a fire. I got a cheese sandwich with vegetable chutney. It was so in point. It was on a crusty bread and heated. The chutney was sweet and paired perfectly with the cheese. So good! This will be a small business I continue to support. It's cute, comfy, and has good food and drinks! read more

Love this place!! Really cool area by the campus. I got here before 7pm after a football game. They still had two food trucks- Bao Boys and Italian wraps. I got a spicy Pork Bao bun. SO GOOD. About $5 for one but great flavor and unique. Got Rissoto bites from the Italian truck. Unique item with good flavor. Came with marina sauce and a great presentation for a food truck. Parking got full but I parked in the gravel behind the food trucks. Lots of seating outside with string lights you can turn on with your phone. Went inside to get a glass of Cabernet. This was my first time venturing out to York. Great place to get a drink especially wine. With Covid appreciate the outdoor patio. DJ Myint was spinning some nice tunes. With friends and a good drink the cold does feel as cold here. Thank you for the fire pits and propane heaters. Quality menu with cheese and some Zingerman's products. Only advice the front staff seemed a little cold when mentioning first time customer. Usually receive a warm thanks, but was met with silence. Still come back. Used to love this place but have had a few bad experiences now. About a month ago I came and they made me move my car that was parked legally for their delivery truck. They literally told me to get up from my dinner. And didn't even apologize or offer me anything. It was awful. Today was probably the worst though. I came an whole hour and 15 minutes before close. The workers decided right when we came up to the line that they would stop serving cheese boards for the night. This was not listed on their Facebook page or website because I checked both before coming. I ordered drinks and the very sullen worker refused to even let us take cheese to go. I was trying to be understanding because I know it's a tough time to work but then they started drinking in the back. Kid you not an hour before close they are drinking expensive alcohol and refusing to make the cheese boards. It was soooooo bad. read more

If I actually made decent money, I would eat here all the time, alas a $14 sandwich is a rare treat. But treat indeed! My boyfriend had the roast beef and added turkey, and he raved about the meat quality. The creamy chevre sandwich was bright and filling. No sides and two sandwiches plus tip was more than $30, so it'll probably be awhile before the next time, whew! It would be helpful if they made it easier to pickup online orders. This place is an Ypsilanti gem. We went in a Friday night and the place was packed. But there was an awesome energy coming from this place and they had a DJ playing outside. Just a really fun atmosphere. The inside bar area doesn't have a lot of seating but it's a beautiful little bar and our drinks were amazing! The bartenders were very friendly and made a really good Manhattan! I tried the Monkey Business cocktail and I would definitely order it again. It's a little sweet but not syrupy or dessert-like. It had a delicious tartness to it so it was well balanced. The pineapple juice added some sweetness but the lemon juice and bitters brought out some tartness and the frothy egg white on top was sprinkled with cinnamon. Overall just a really nice cocktail. We ordered some sandwiches and were satisfied with all of them but the Reuben and Jamon were my favorites! The Jamon was simple with just butter and baguette roll but they were both really good quality and just hit the spot. The Reuben had a delicious corned beef flavor and a bit of sauerkraut but it was not overpowering! The bread was perfectly crusted as well so you get that crunch! This place has all the vibes, a chill coffee shop with a fun bar that occasionally has a bar b q food truck but always has delicious bread and jam. So why not stop in? I believe this was recently renovated and now goes by just "York", and what I can tell they expanded the seating options and have taken a step back in the "groceries". I came here for a business meeting. There is parking in the rear. It was kind of hard to find the entrance but I think they are going through with some remodeling. The place is pretty cool. There is a place to grab some coffee and even grab a bite. I was really impressed by the wine shop located in the back. There are a variety of tables to sit at both up front and in the back. There is even a small outdoor area with seating. We ordered a few coffees. The coffee was great. I also decided to grab a bottle of wine prior to leaving. I would like to visit here again and grab a bite to eat. It smelled great and they had a good menu. I look forward to visiting again. read more

First time coming here since I'm in AA for commencement weekend. It is a very cute place and is a very open space. Great for anyone who wants to grab a quick bite and read or for friends to grab a large table and play board games while enjoying a plate of charcuterie. I ordered the iced coffee- it is a bit spiced as the barista explained it is a New Orleans styled coffee. I enjoyed it because it was very strong coffee. I'm so happy we found this place! For sure my favorite spot in Ann Arbor. They have great cafe drinks, cool imported sparkling waters/sodas, great fresh food like salads and sandwiches on French baguettes, AND a food truck! We haven't been here for happy hour yet but it seems like they have rotating happy hour specials and rotating food trucks. I can't believe I lived in Ann Arbor for 2 years before finding this place. There's this great outdoor seating area which has been great for COVID times but I imagine this place was somehow even more amazing before.
