I went here once and there was a lot to see. The ambiance is perfect for studying and an afternoon gathering with friends. There are plenty of games and good places to sit. The service was very kind, I enjoyed talking to the baristas that shift. As far as my drink, I got either a caramel or a tiramisu latte I think. The coffee quality is just not there for me. It wasn't to worst and was most definitely drinkable, but I'm just spoiled in the Ann Arbor area with the coffee we have there so the bitterness and tinge to the coffee they had there stuck out to me. Great place to have a chat with a friend! Plenty of parking, lots of tables and seating, and lots of things to choose from the menu! I had a hard time choosing between the lavender honey latte, strawberry peach tea, and a fruit smoothie. They ran out of tea for the strawberry peach tea so I got a small peach mango smoothie! It was DELICIOUS!! It was a hot day and my friend and I sat near the window and I felt it got a little warm after awhile. The AC is on but not strong enough. So prob better to sit in the middle if you need cooler air like me. read more

Brewed Awakenings is Saline's "it" destination for coffee and IT is a pretty darn good thing! Brewed Awakenings is housed in a strip mall across from the Walmart and near Saline high school. In the early hours, teens flood in before school for their fancy coffee drinks, followed mid-morning by groups of veterans, mothers, and the like who gather to socialize. The vibe is comfortable with lots of seating, although it can become quite loud when filled with guests (or noisy kids). I am a fan of their brewed coffee and lattes, but the real standout is their food! Everything that I have tried from breakfast and lunch meat sandwiches to coleslaw have been super tasty! My parents live on Brewed Awakenings it seems when they visit from out-of-state, and also say that the soups are great! They also offer a wide array of baked goods. read more

This trip I had a soy vanilla latte but next time I might try one of their summer specials, a honey lavender latte. The coffee is excellent and so are all the sandwiches, wraps and baked goods but what really makes Brewed Awakenings special is their commitment to community. They make their place a great spot to hang out and meet up for small groups or a go-to to get away and study or work (there's wifi and plenty of space to spread out and separate). Find a sunny spot next to the big windows in summer or cozy up next to the fireplace in winter. My husband and I went in a few minutes before the cafe closing to kill time while waiting for our daughter to get out of a movie. As a RNY patient who can't drink whole milk or sugar, I was thrilled to find that they had hazelnut sugar free syrup, so I ordered a skim milk sugar free latte, and an oatmeal cookie for my daughter to go. Unfortunately it was definitely not what I received. I watched the young lady with pink hair pour regular vitamin D milk in the mug, and it did not taste like the torani sugar free syrup that I have on my counter. I had my husband try it to verify, which he said didn't taste like sugar free syrup, either, but maybe the coffee covered up the aftertaste. (He only drinks regular coffee.) I had him go ask to verify they used sugar free, which she stated she did. After getting sick after I got home, I can verify that it probably wasn't. It's my own fault for not having her remake it - she stated to my husband she would, but I trusted it was in fact sugar free, and I didn't want to have to wait since we had to pick up my daughter. I always enjoy going to Brewed Awakenings. It is a convenient stop for us on the way to or from the airport. The coffee here is good and my wife particularly enjoys the flavored coffees they offer. The food is actually very good as well, as we often have dinner or lunch here. Their soups are excellent, particularly the mushroom brie. The sandwiches are likewise tasty and there is a very good selection from which to choose. I particularly like the Delizioso. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. The dining area is a pleasant place to sit, eat, drink and surf. They have occasional open-mic nights with local talent for those looking for something more lively. I never would have known about this adorable cafe hidden in a strip mall off of Michigan Avenue if not for Yelp. Lots of indoor seating, WiFi, very affordable coffee drinks, a local authors corner with books and some other gift things available that support Saline organizations or schools. Not sure if anyone ever plays the piano in the corner but it's clear this is a business that is invested in its local community. This is my favorite, go-to lunch spot in Saline. Everyone is always friendly, the service is quick, and the food & drinks are yummy! I've had a variety of their special lattes and an a big fan of their chai. My favorite sandwich is, hands down, the Niccolo; the pesto is some of the best I've ever had. Just thinking about it is making me salivate! Thankfully, I'm waiting for my sandwich to be made while I write this. Don't forget to pick up a punch card! After purchasing 14 drinks, you get a free one (Max $4.40 value, which at least covers a small of any type of beverage). I always enjoy stopping in here when I go on a Walmart run nearby. They have a nice selection of homemade baked goods, and my favorite so far the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. I usually go for a make your own Sandwich which is nice to have the flexibility to get what you'd like. There is live music at Brewed Awakenings on Monday nights. I knew that, but never had a reason to be there on a Monday night until the DSL went out at our house. Hubby and I were the only two with laptops, trying to get work done. The rest were all sitting with their chairs turned toward the fireplace and the musician. We enjoyed songs from several people, one at a time, mostly on acoustic guitars amplified with a sound system. (It was a little loud at peak moments, to my sensitive ears.) They played a combination of familiar and original tunes. One man played the upright piano. Hubby said, "I wonder if it'll sound like an old west bar piano." Hey, that's what uprights sound like. He's used to his mom's baby grand. ~~~ The chai latte was my fave, until I tried my girlfriend's fave ... a peach iced tea made by Erika. This local coffee shop is sooo worth supporting! I was only in the area for two weeks and my time spent there most mornings was awesome. They're family friendly but not loud. They're cool and hip but not stuck up. They allow so many good causes and local businesses to come and promote themselves and they seem like they're always raising funds for something worthwhile! I stopped in here to get a little coffee because someone else in the house had more than their fair share that day - I won't name names. I ended up getting a pumpkin spice latte. The service is excellent, but the latte was just a little too sweet for me. I would get it again in a pinch, and definitely sit back and relax in the shop. It's not as warm as I'd like, but overall I could easily hang out and waste some time here. They let me try their soup - and it's quite delicious (in fact amazing - especially if you like mushrooms). The parking seems pretty good - though I really wasn't there during what I would expect to be the busy hours. I have taken many of my breaks at this place and I really like it. I really like the food and the coffee is good but they are a little expensive. I got a salad one day that was almost $7 and when it came out to me, I was a little shocked to see how small it was. It was almost a little small for a side salad. This is my parents' go-to place, so I end up there at least once each visit back to Michigan. The staff is great. They are super friendly and go out of their way to anticipate and accommodate their regulars. I am a tea drinker, so it's tough to really rate their barista skills since putting a bag in hot water isn't too complicated. They have a decent tea selection though. There is a TON of space with big tables and a variety of chairs, so it's a pleasant place to sit and do a little reading or work. They've also catered at my parents' place at least once. They made some great egg casseroles for my brothers' post-wedding brunch that were super tasty, the server was way fun and attentive, and from what my mom said, they did it all super cheap.
