There is a lot of wildlife (deer, birds, turkeys and bats at night) on the surrounding grounds that are made to feel welcomed and provide such enjoyable entertainment it was a must to sit on the back deck each night. Our room was clean and kept nice and cool for us as we visited in the month of July when it was in the mid 80-90's. After a day of exploring Yosemite that was a comforting touch. Breakfast was outstanding with everything homemade and served so nicely by the bay window in the kitchen. Trays of bird seed on the deck beckoned woodpeckers to finches. Many hummingbirds were also seen daily. Needless to say we really enjoyed our time here and will come again and recommend staying here to all who visit the area.

All the rooms have well equipped bathrooms and private outside doors. The room was very comfortable and included a coffee maker with coffee, a hot pot with teas/hot chocolate, bottled waters, a small refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. Oh, and a pool to cool off in. Bonus if you are traveling with children. The grounds are well taken care of and I found it to be a great setting to sit with my morning cup of coffee and read a good book while awaiting our lovely 9am full American style breakfast, prepared by Joy. Served on fine china. If you're planning on visiting Yosemite, as several other guests were doing, it's only about a 40 minute drive to the entrance of the park. I imagine after spending the day seeing the sights at this beautiful yet tourist packed park, coming back to Yosemite Bed and Breakfast, would be a very welcoming place to chill. There is a barbecue to grill up dinner, or you can drive back to town (Mariposa), about 10 minutes, and have dinner at several restaurants. We like the pizza at The Pizza Factory. Maybe pick one up on you're way back from the park. Clay and Joy, themselves, have frequented many bed and breakfasts in their travels and have taken the best from their experiences and turned it to Yosemite Bed and Breakfast. As I said to Clay as we were reluctantly heading back to the SF Bay Area, I wouldn't change a thing.

The morning meal is all homemade by the B&B couple along with a snack for the day. It is all delicious! During your meal, you may see a pack of wild turkeys walk around. It is quiet, beautiful, and just an hour away from Yosemite. The town offers a great variety of restaurants to sample from. My favorite was 1850 offering a local brewery selection along with some really delicious food. You should try their mac and cheese. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area or hiking in Yosemite. :)

We were booked in suite 5, which does NOT look anything like the room shown on the website. It is old, dark and dingy. Even the front door lock was loose (as mentioned by another reviewer). I had made the reservations for my friend and me, and when we walked into suite 5, we both just deflated at how junky it looked. I wanted to show my friend how it didn't look anything like the website, but their internet didn't work at all until the next morning. The outdoor area is not lit up and welcoming, but dark and deserted. We made the best of it for that night, and in the morning, I contacted the owner via text. When I said that the room looked nothing like the rooms shown on the website, the reply was, "All of our rooms are different." So why don't they show photos of all of their rooms??? They offered to move us to another room, and I requested one that looks like the one on the website. They instructed me to find the key for suite 1, and that room was great! Looked just like the website, and was exactly what we were expecting. It was weird that this room was not rented out, but yet they didn't put us in that room in the first place. I later learned that we were charged $199 for the first night junky room, and $109 for the second night room that looked like the one on the website. That was contrary to what I remembered from the price listing on the website when I made the reservation, which I believe was $159 per night. But when you receive your confirmation email, there are no prices listed at all. I know it comes out to the same price, but it's very strange that the price/total isn't listed on your confirmation email. I would have asked if I had noticed it before we arrived. I really wanted to like this inn, but next time, I'll just stay in the heated cabins in Yosemite Valley for $155/night. The one-hour drive to the valley from this place wasn't worth it for us. If you're going to stay here, ask them specifically what room you will be in and if it's one that looks like the ones on the website. If not, consider staying elsewhere. Positive: the cafe is super cute with great coffee and food and nice people!

I had my door propped open to cool off the room with the night air and a stray cat waltzed right in. It didn't stay long, but it was a cute and funny encounter. Is the cat part of the staff? There were other people there and while there is no curfew they do not give you a key since the door is normally left unlocked but of course the people locked us out and were kind of surprized when we knocked on the door at like 10pm. A nice breakfast where everyone waits for everyone. Joyce introduces everyone and conversation is made at the big table. 8:30 am is a little early for me but it was a good price for a room last minute so we did not complain. (Many B&B's around Yosemite have been closed for a while so do not rely solely on your GPS)

Our biggest issue was the "drive-through breakfast" that was advertised. There were no signs, no setup, and no instructions--nothing to suggest breakfast was actually happening, and no one explained it during check-in. We ended up missing it completely. It's a decent stay if you just need a clean place to sleep, but if you're counting on clear amenities or reliable accessibility, this location may fall short.
