My beloved cat of 17 years was in bad shape (no thanks to Park Animal Hospital, long story) and had to be euthanized. Yosemite Pet Hospital was very kind from the start. I was allowed to be with my Sasha until she passed, and I was allowed to stay with her for a little while after (so I could be sure that her spirit attached to me). My cat came to me in a dream that night and she is happy, she is with me. Thank you Dr. Madrazo and all the staff for your support. This hospital is very nice. Avoid this scammy vet at all costs. They charge at least 30% more than other vets in town. They push unnecessary tests and procedures (they have a woman call and patronizingly say "your baby" over and over to try to milk money out of you). I took my 2 year old indoor cat in for a simple infection in Nov. One day and $2050 later, she's on antibiotics. She's better... then dead two days later. I called them to get answers. Of course they had the "your baby" girl call me back to try to milk more money out of me. The fake concern was honestly insulting. I ended up having to take her to another vet (wonderful staff at Mountainview) and she had to immediately be put down... 3 days after leaving Yosemite Pet Hospital. Our 8 yr old female maltipoo who was a rescue at 11 months old has been under the care of Dr, Madroza for about 5 years . She has helped her through several health conditions and a surgery and she is feeling great at 8 yrs. I can't say enough about the caring staff that calls her by name when we enter the clinic. She is a dog that's extremely hyper so I can see her being hard to deal with but there is no exception to causing this level of bruising on an animal as a professional. Like others here, Dr. M and I didn't always agree on the amount of testing and medication (I consistently opted for less), but after initially sensing pushback, I found her accepting of our decisions. When it came time to decide on euthanasia Dr. M was gentle and supportive, not pushing us in one direction or another, but offering her observations of other clients in similar situations. Vet techs and front staff were always courteous and professional. We've had experience (albeit limited) with another vet in the area and found the costs comparable between both practices. 4-stars as scheduled visits consistently involved a 15-30 minute wait beyond the appointment time to be seen. read more

My husband took our 20+ year old cat in today to be euthanized. She has been failing and not eating for a couple days. Today she was not able to stand. She has been seen at Yosemite Pet Hospital previously. Dr. Madrazo agreed that it was time to euthanize her. Shocked to learn that our cost for the service was $661.50. That included a $6.50 senior citizen discount! So generous. We used an emergency vet hospital in a neighboring city and paid under $200 for the same service for our dog. Very disappointed and frankly angry to be charged that much. Will never use Dr Madrazo's services again and will never recommend Yosemite Pet hospital. I am grateful for the wonderful staff at Yosemite Pet Hospital. I've taken two of my dogs for check-ups and when it's been an emergency and they have helped my dogs out. Dr. Kissel has been super helpful and definitely see how much she wants to help my dogs out with various options and gives solutions. The only negative I can say now is, they are not open on the weekends. Just recently my dog was popping a lot if blood. I called them on short notice they said they would see if the Doctor would be able to assist me because she was with her last patient. I called again and was told that I had to bring her another time because she had to leave. But then, they came through, they called and gave me medication for my dog which helped her a lot. I've worked in the veterinary field for 8 years all over southern and Northern California, at Emergancy hospitals all the way down to tiny private one doctor hospitals and I have NEVER come across such an unorganized and terrible office. They do not return your phone calls, your emails, or your prescription fill requests for WEEKS letting your pet SUFFER and then do all they can to gouge you for money. I've been there one time and won't be going anywhere else. What an awesome Vet and support staff. I went to Yosemite for the first time last Tuesday where Dr. Madrazo spent a significant amount of time talking to me and diagnosing my girl, Mila. She knew things were serious but kept things calm, gave me no false hopes while at the same time being full of empathy and comfort. Her techs and front desk staff are fantastic as well. Costs are very similar to what I have experienced elsewhere, maybe even a bit less. I am not sure if they would have spent as much time if my pet wasn't so serious. But then I would not expect them to, if the pet is healthy. In addition when Dr. Madrazo called me back to follow up on test results - she spoke to me for over 20 mins going over the results and options. I ended up having to take my pup to ER on Friday, where unfortunately we had to euthanize her, but all of Dr. Madrazo's initial diagnosis' were confirmed there. Office space is super neat and clean and they have plenty of parking. She is definitely my new vet going forward and I highly highly recommend her. read more

Took my cats here last year for a routine exam because it was nearby. The doctor and staff were knowledgeable. The pricing was average. However, it seemed to me like they just wanted to do extra tests so they could bill me for more services. One of my cats has FIV. They wanted me to get yearly blood tests for both my cats because of this, even though I already know he's positive and it really wouldn't make any difference to the care action plan. What's the point of confirming something you already know over and over again, except to line your pockets? Even if my other cat got FIV (unlikely), a blood test wouldn't change the care unless they got sick. Then I called when my cat had an emergency in the middle of a weekday and they said they couldn't do anything that day. I ended up having to take my cat to another place to put her down. They don't seem to be very readily available and I don't trust them not to push unnecessary tests on me. Will drive further for something better for my other cat. read more

My doggo Zulu LOVES going to see his friends at Yosemite Pet Hospital. He's been a regular patient since his adoption from the Camarillo Shelter in April 2019. He has digestive issues and skin allergies, not to mention that bout of giardia. So yeah, Dr. Lissel and the wonderful staff know Zulu pretty well. I'm so grateful for their consistently kind attention and patience for Zulu, who is a happy, rambunctious pitbull. Dr. Lissel always gives plenty of time to discuss concerns and possible treatments. The techs are so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Zulu gets totally excited when they come out to get him from the car, like it's a playdate! Because of Covid protocols, we drop off Zulu and are called when he's ready to be picked up. This works out well for running errands or grabbing something to eat in the meantime. I have total confidence in the care provided for my Zulu bear. Dr. Lissel thoroughly answers questions I might have about whether he needs a certain treatment, vaccine, or supplement. She and the vet techs (special shout-out to Keny!) really know their stuff. I love the staff there because they're just as attentive and will always communicate my concerns to Dr. Lissel. Ultimately, it's up to me to approve or decline recommendations, as well as to research all treatments Zulu-related, at least until I can teach my sweet boy to Google on his own. this clinic is around the corner from our house which is the reason we have gone here multiple times. initially, we were put off by the constant attempts to upsell us each time we brought a dog in. Charging us for items we didn't ask for and billing us for things that didn't make sense. my two pups, baybe and boomer got into a fight this morning with a HUGE raccoon on my patio. Boomer was unscathed. But baybe was a MESS. She has four puncture wounds and abrasions across her chest and body. Her eye was seriously hurt and obviously, she was shaken and terrified. I am completely disappointed with this place. Do not take your pet here! This place is overpriced : expensive office visits, lab tests and unnecessary tests. They ran many tests to rack my bill. And all she had was a UTI. It was last month I took my 5 year old cat for a simple urinary issue (UTI) and they charged me $1000. For an abdomen X/R they charged me $407, Blood work $217 and Urinary test $270. They also ran a Cardiac Blood test to check her heart health without my permission for the amount of $80! My cat is very healthy and does not have a heart issue. read more

We had great experience with Dr. Medrazo. I had opportunity to re-visit this practice, as my Frenchie was having an issue with her sight. In previous visits, under different ownership, I did not feel I got the same attention as Dr. Medrazo gave in a single visit. I even got a follow up call to see how a referral visit had gone with a specialist, as Dr Medrazo is not an ophthalmological vet, but knew who to refer me to. It's confirmed, my little girl has what appears to be congenital juvenile cataract. Thank you, Dr Medrazo, for your time, care, recommendations, and know, as well as expressing your limitations. This is a terrible Vet hospital. They charge you for a large animal food / bones and give you the smaller bag or package. I looked at The bill that they had charged with my credit card. I realized that they charge me for a large 7.7 pound bag of cat food and they only gave me a 3.3 pound bag. We lost our beloved cocker in June. On our journey trying to find a cure for him Dr. Madrazo went out of her way to help us get into a cancer center. And we had never been to her. It was so appreciated since our regular vet in Moorpark said he couldn't help. Since then we now have a new puppy. Of course we went back to Dr. Madrazo. She is through and doesn't do anythingl that isn't necessary. All the while keeping our dogs best interest and well being in mind. I was recently very surprised and satisfied at how quickly Yosemite Pet Hospital was able to get my Golden Retriever in to see the doctor for her chronic ear infections. The staff is very patient and extremely courteous on the phone as well as in person. They actually listen, take notes and relay the information to the doctor. The doctor spoke with me several times and explained/reviewed a going-forward plan for my dog's allergies and symptoms stemming from the allergies. We also discussed medications and dosage amounts. Since I was very happy with the service my dog and I received and considering that I live directly across the street from Yosemite, I may have just found my new vet! I took my dog there a year ago and initially liked the staff and appreciated the vet giving me time to check in. Our dog was a rescue and seemed to have health problems. They ran many test, blood work and then recommended expensive vitamins and chews for her. She saw my dog 2x in a month due to my dog being lethargic and again did many blood test. 1 week after our 2nd visits, our pup had puppies which was a surprise to all. The vet did not catch she was pregnant. We decided to overlook this and brought our pup there the day after she had the puppies to see if she and the puppies were ok. She looked over them, recommended more test and products. Shortly after this visit she let slip that she does not know how to treat pregnant dog or help with birthing issues. The puppies were sick and died a week later. My frustration is because she was not forthcoming and did not care enough to refer me to someone who might have helped. Instead she continued doing test and selling products that were not necessary or helpful as we discovered when I found a different vet. It's ok to not know something, but pretending you do and not disclosing this is the reason for my low score. I am still haunted that if we caught the pregnancy early or get good help after the birth, we might have saved her puppies. read more

This "doctor" gave 1 year vaccines when she should of given 3 year vaccines since my dog is 10 years-old. She assured me there was no cancer from a needle biopsy, when in fact, a needle biopsy from the anal gland rarely serves a purpose and no doctor does this anymore. We were only there for about an hour and I didn't even have an appointment! This is where I took my boxer Lucy... my baby girl 8 years ago .... I thought I was getting the best care and instead I was told she needed all sorts of test that were unnecessary and quite costly . Every time I went it was a minimum of $400.00-$500.00!! I have a very healthy purebred boxer who doesn't need an X-ray of her stomach and doesn't have a heart murmur... she doesn't need a heart worm Test every time she goes in either . My biggest regret was not getting a second opinion on her heart murmur. I would recommend them over any other facility. They are in your pets' best interest and treat you like family. They saved our Cat's life when she had no other options. Dr. Lissel Madrazo is nothing short of amazing and is a person who really loves her job and cares for animals. We adopted a cat from a shelter who was healthy but shortly after fell ill with a respiratory infection, which unfortunately lead to an eye infection. Throughout the whole process Dr. Lissel was there for every step of the way, providing us with details and options for treatment for our cat. Her treatment options were very affordable, and she answered any questions that we had (plus we never felt rushed or dismissed). She called us for updates on our cat, got us in for same day appointments when our cat was having an allergic reaction, referred us to specialist when it progressed, and offered us many options. Unfortunately, our kitty had to have her eye removed but she is currently in recovery and is doing great. Dr. Lissel gave us may resources on getting the surgery and even offered to do the surgery herself if we were unable to find an affordable solution. In short, Dr. Lissel saved our cats life and let us keep our family member and will continue to help us keep her health. We thank you and most importantly, Raven (our kitty) thanks you.
