Stayed here for a weekend in April! We were a bit worried because by the time we started planning the trip, all the lodging inside the park had been fully booked, so we were glad Yosemite View Lodge still had availability for a 5 person room. It's is actually the closest hotel outside the park! We checked in around 11:30pm and the front desk is open 24/7 which was convenient. Just a heads up that if you arrive later at night, you will probably have to park farther away and walk as the lot gets filled up quick. There are some Tesla chargers on-site. Room design was pretty cool! I have never been in a loft-style hotel room with an indoor staircase. Downstairs had the bathroom, kitchenette, TV, and a king bed, while upstairs had a TV and double bed. Room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. No AC, but there were ceiling fans which was sufficient for April. We did use the kitchenette to cook and it was a bit small which was expected. Definitely recommend checking out the game room on the property! There was billiards, ice hockey, ping pong, etc. It was very lively and we had a lot of fun! The main downside was the Wi-Fi. The connection was very weak and nothing would load on our phones which was frustrating, considering the signal in the area is already limited. Overall, despite the Wi-Fi issue, I would still consider staying here again because of the location - takes about 25 minutes to drive to Yosemite. Very convenient in case you are unable to find lodging in the park.

The only reason why people should stay here is to be close to Yosemite national Park. It's only 30 minutes away from the entrance IF there's nothing else left around to stay. BUT be warned This place has horrible Internet service and Wi-Fi even with the free Wi-Fi service they give you AND the reception area has horrible customer service. If you're checking in late, you have to ring the doorbell that is outside of the hotel in the hotel reception area that will look like it's closed. Pros: The good thing about this location is you're very close to the Merced river. They've added some Tesla superchargers, which is a nice addition and day passes to the pool and hot tub. Cons: their bathrooms and kitchen area and their bedrooms, carpet all need remodeling.. The food at the gift shop is the not best and in the past had more choices. They have a buffet style for breakfast at the restaurant that you pay $24.99 person and the food seems like it was all frozen and just reheated. I've stayed here many times in the past 10 years and I have to say their customer service has become the worst I've ever seen and you see my previous post attached. Now You don't get greeted at reception like before no welcome greeting or thank you for staying here. They're just ready to take your money. The price of the hotel has definitely increased significantly this time around. I was very disappointed that their housekeeping and front desk were very dishonest. I left a charger behind and came back the same day to pick it up. They refused to check the room until I asked again and became insistent that they look. I was told they never found it and I told them exactly where it was. Yes, it was an expensive charger and I was not looking forward to purchasing another one.. what bothered me the most was that I had a long 6 hr drive home and needed to charge my devices in my vehicle. I spent an hour explaining to them where it was and waiting around for someone to go look in the room and when the finally agreed to check the room the older Hispanic man and young man with tattoos on his arm came back out they didn't even make eye contact with me or even say if they had found it or not. I had to ask him and he just nodded his head "no". No apology given or said "I'm sorry that we couldn't find". At the end of the day someone there kept it and sadly they needed more I guess. I will not be staying here ever again. Please Don't leave any belongings and expect to get them back.

Had a great stay at Yosemite View Lodge in mid-October. The location really cannot be beat (unless you stay in the park of course), it only took about 10 minutes to get into the park. They have a lot of amenities here: a gift shop, multiple pools (both indoor and outdoor), a couple of restaurants, a game room, nice outside lounging areas, and it's dog friendly! The staff were all great too. I will say the walls are extremely thin and you can essentially hear everything but that's pretty typical of most hotels. The water pressure is also not great so just keep that in mind. But overall, would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

If you want a close place to stay near the park but can't or don't want to stay in the park, this place is only 5 min from the entrance. An older lodge, but the amenities including a pool, game room, restaurants and convenience store come in handy. A good place to wind down after a long day in the park. It even has its own river view trail to walk and explore!

Over all we had a pleasant stay in our room, like most hotels it is just a place to rest for the night. We had a party of six so we were in one of the bigger family suites, it was nice to have the extra space to stretch out and relax together in one big hotel room instead of getting two smaller rooms. There were a few minor negatives about the suite which included terrible water pressure in the showers, some of the dishes in the kitchen were still visibly dirty from the last guests, a little bit of wall paper in the kitchen was coming down and the spa tub switch was hidden behind the towels. Otherwise the room was cozy & welcoming, we felt relaxed and comfortable. I also liked the little travel toiletries that were provided, they had a nice smell to them. The property has a lot of fun amenities like an indoor pool & hot tub along with an outdoor pool & hot tub. It was nice to relax in the hot tub after a long day of travel. There was also a game room just a short walk from our room which had some board games, random books, two living rooms with sofas and TV's along with a big room that had a pool table, air hockey and more. A few of the electronic games in the room weren't on/working but there was still plenty to do! We hung out in the game room for quite sometime. Near the front desk is a large living room type area with plenty of seating where you can relax if you wish. There is also a pretty decent sized store & gift shop were you can find souvenirs, clothing and even do some light grocery shopping. The prices weren't bad, and they had a lot to choose from. We actually ended up buying our breakfast from their little shop, because surprisingly with how expensive the rooms are they don't even include a basic breakfast. If you want actual breakfast they had a small buffet in their on site restaurant, we didn't get breakfast there but looking at other reviews it was almost $22 per person which is pretty high. We did visit the restaurant for dinner while we were there. The property has two places to eat aside from the little grocery store they have there is a restaurant & a pizza place. For some reason the pizza spot is closed during the winter so the only option was the restaurant. Service was very slow, it took a while to get seated even with it being mostly empty and it took a long time to order then get our food. The tables were also very uneven and wobbly but I think that may be due to the floor. However the food was very good & the waiter in charge of refilling drinks was on top of making sure our glasses stayed full. The view of the river outside of our room was gorgeous and I loved sitting outside in a chair just listening to the sound of the running water. The hotel was over all pretty quiet at night so it was just you and the sound of nature which was peaceful. We also sat out near the river itself at a little firepit area they had set up. The view of the stars at night was spectacular. The short drive to Yosemite National Park from this hotel was also a plus because you can get into the park as soon as they open for the day and try to beat some of the crowds.

This place was perfect for a lodging right outside of Yosemite park. It was dog friendly and was very clean. We went in December and river was flowing! Hot tub was nice to watch tv and relax. The game room needs an update a lot of the equipment was on its last limbs. Mini store open til 10 in the lobby was very convenient since next grocery store was about 30 mins drive. I would book again.

Great value and location for a Yosemite trip! 20-25 minutes to the valley (tunnel view a little closer side) Not as expensive as in park hotels but similar looking in terms of quality and they do have A/C in each room. A nice shop down in entrance lobby and pizza/restaurant on site. Also saw a shuttle YARTS that can take you in but I just drove to where I wanted. Has several pools and hot tubs, which I tired. The outdoor pool was not heated and a nice little refresher. Worth booking and seems to have better availability but they do charge for Wifi at 24 hour clips.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to assist me when I call. I was told that I needed to email the restaurant manager, Rachel T., but she has not responded to any of my emails. I also left a voicemail, which has not been returned. What happened today was especially unacceptable. I called and spoke with an assistant manager named Sarah. I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" I then asked to speak with a manager because her response was completely inappropriate. Before the issue could be addressed, the call was disconnected. After nearly a month of unanswered emails, an unreturned voicemail, and this extraordinarily disrespectful interaction, I am extremely disappointed. Rush Creek Lodge urgently needs to retrain its managers and assistant managers on basic professionalism and customer service. This level of treatment is unacceptable.

Our cabin was nice and clean and had board games for kids to play with. I liked the smell of their complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion that the lodge makes. They also set up bonfires to enjoy s'mores in the evenings. We really enjoyed their All-you-can-eat BBQ night in the swimming pool area. The pool bar made delicious drinks. That was our hangout!! If you don't want the All-you-can-eat BBQ, there's a restaurant at the lodge to order food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or you can buy snacks at their General Store. They also sell beer and wine. The General Store has souvenirs as well. The lodge is less than 20 minutes away from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir with beautiful views of a waterfall and it's a 17-mile drive to Yosemite National Park. We look forward to going back next summer and staying at the same location. A must visit Yosemite!! Happy Yelping :)

We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again.

The room itself has everything needed: a spacious shower, a sink & toilet with good water pressure, a small fridge and microwave, a kitchen sink, cooking area, a nice bed and a couch that opens up and can fit one more person on there. Got an unexpected upgrade whe checked in and the room was in a more secluded area so that was nice! The common area was so nice and useful: coffee, meals, swings, couches, anything one might need. There was even a free yoga class with high quality yoga mats provided on Sundays, and every day there is a scheduled event. Even the pathways with numbers for the rooms were lit up so to be found easier. Ordered a pizza set (includes 2 pizzas) and it was tasty, with an over offered to us. Each AutoCamp car/bus has an outside area with a table, chairs, and a bench. The atmosphere was so serene, truly a great place. Also pet friendly! Location: 1 hour away from the Yosemite National Park but pretty okay distance considering the other options. Loved it so much that will visit other AutoCamp locations.

Read this if you are even thinking of staying a night here!…read more Me and my family decided to stay at this place as shown on the photos that this place a quite beautiful, calm, restful spot, but this place looks like it's quietly falling apart, and not in a charming, "needs a little TLC" kind of way, but in a neglect-has-set-in-and-stayed-there way. The window area is especially rough. The paint along the sill is cracked, uneven, and visibly deteriorating, with grime and possible water damage creeping into the seams. The corners look like they've been absorbing moisture for a long time, there's discoloration, warping, and buildup that suggests it hasn't been properly sealed or cleaned in ages. That's not just cosmetic, it hints at ongoing maintenance issues. Then there's the debris situation. The small black particles scattered in the metal container and around the window area give off a dirty, unkempt vibe, like basic cleaning just isn't happening regularly. Whether it's dirt, pest droppings, or just accumulated gunk, it doesn't inspire confidence in the overall hygiene of the space. And speaking of pests, the visible insect on the wall near the window doesn't help your case at all. Even a single bug in a spot like that makes the place feel poorly maintained, especially when paired with the cracks and grime that could easily serve as entry points. Overall, the impression is pretty clear: this is a space where maintenance has been ignored, cleanliness is inconsistent at best, and small problems have been allowed to snowball into bigger ones. It doesn't feel fresh, cared for, or particularly livable, it feels like something that's been left to slowly decline.

You get some cool wildlife like a friendly raven that seems to hang out on the porch, and a bunch of deer on the last morning we were there. It's obviously very pricey, but you are RIGHT in the park!

Internet is very sketchy but you're not really going to get consistent internet anywhere in Yosemite. The Satellite TV was also hit and miss (mostly miss), but again, you don't come to Yosemite for that. This particular property was clean, microwave was broken with a sign on it that says "don't use", outdoor grill had a lot of grease on the grates which resulted in lots of flames. It's pricey so I would expect everything to be in good working order.

WARNING: TOURIST TRAP WITH FRAUDULENT PRACTICES, APPALLING HYGIENIC CONDITIONS, AND DISMAL…read moreMANAGEMENT! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Rating: 0/5 I am forced to write this review not because of the trip itself, which was wonderful, but due to the nightmare experience we endured at the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort. If you are looking for a pleasant stay, run away from this place. Here are the cold, hard facts, backed by proof, leaving absolutely zero room for their "excuses." 1. UNILATERAL AND FRAUDULENT CHARGE FOR LACK OF MAINTENANCE The absolute lowest point of my stay was a whopping $200 charge on my credit card, processed unilaterally and completely outside of the official Booking.com channel. Their "justification"? Alleged damage to a screen door. The truth is quite different: the screen door in question was dilapidated, flimsy, and worn out--clear proof that these accommodations are far from luxury and that maintenance is nonexistent. It broke loose simply because my TWO-YEAR-OLD son leaned gently against it. Instead of taking care of the mandatory and long-overdue maintenance of such outdated structures, this resort prefers to extortionately overcharge its guests. I have received no receipt, invoice, or any proof regarding the withheld amount. This is a fraudulent and predatory practice, aimed at extracting money without any paper trail. 2. UNLIVABLE CONDITIONS AND APPALLING FILTH The accommodation turned out to be an absolute living hell. Although air conditioning was explicitly listed among the amenities at the time of booking, the facility completely lacked it. It was literally suffocatingly hot. As a substitute, we were provided with a fan that was not only completely useless at cooling the room, but also incredibly loud and caked in dirt. To make matters worse, the hygienic conditions were embarrassing: we found dead bugs inside the tent, and the floors were so filthy that after walking barefoot for just a few minutes, our socks were completely stained pitch black. A total lack of respect for the most basic hygiene standards. 3. SHAMEFUL MANAGEMENT AND UTTER DISRESPECT FOR FAMILIES Despite booking a full 6 months in advance, we were assigned a unit located in an impossible position for a family. To reach the nearest restroom, we had to climb a staggering 70 steps. How can a property assign such an accommodation to a family with two children, including a two-year-old, along with a stroller and heavy luggage? It shows an absolute lack of common sense and basic respect for guests, especially those who book half a year ahead precisely to avoid such hardships. When I pointed out the issue at check-in, the receptionist rudely brushed me off, stating "we are fully booked"--which I highly doubt given my advance reservation. CONCLUSION: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort does not deserve even a single star. Their financial practices are sketchy and potentially fraudulent, cleanliness is nonexistent, the amenity descriptions are misleading, and their room assignment logic is absurd. Do not let the location fool you: this is a terrible place that you must avoid if you want to protect the peace of your vacation. N.B. to the owner: I have read your aggressive and defensive replies to other negative reviews. Do not even bother responding to this one. The facts stated here are fully documented (including photos, dirty socks, and official communications). Your words will not change the unacceptable experience we had, nor the money you wrongfully took from us. Save your energy and use it to scrub your floors and repair your decaying property instead of attacking the customers whose vacation you ruined.

FOOD: N/A SERVICE: 4…read moreAMBIANCE: 4 VALUE: 4 Let's make it clear, this hotel is in Yosemite and away from the busy/tourist filled valley. If you are for a peaceful stay away from the crowds, this is where you need to be. The place is full of history and when you drive up to check in, it feels like you've been transported back in time. That's especially true because there are no modern creature comforts, not cell service, no room telephone, no TV, no AC, no in room refrigerator and no room internet (although there is WiFi in the lobby/main building). The basics are very good, spacious room, big comfortable bed, traditional bathroom with good shower pressure and lots of storage. There is a full service restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did not try the restaurant during our short stay. As for things close by, there is a gas station and gift shop just next door. You can arrange for horseback riding. There is a pool but it was being serviced during our stay. And you can hike straight out your front door! There are so many hiking trails around the hotel. A very good alternative in the Yosemite National Park. BTW, with a hotel reservation, you can come and go as you please without having to make a park reservation.

And the service was top notch. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner every night, but since we had our dog with us they sat us outside and made sure we felt comfortable. That's probably my only knock, is that if you're marketing it as dog friendly, there should be some better restaurant options for dogs. But honestly they were very accommodating. We thought we were going to be bummed to be so far out of the valley floor, but it turned out to be the perfect escape from the crowds. We will definitely be coming back.

The location is fantastic, the accommodations are well designed, and the pools and amenities are excellent. The setting truly feels like a luxury retreat and has the potential to be an exceptional destination. Unfortunately, several service issues significantly impacted our stay. One of the biggest frustrations involved food service at the pool. On multiple occasions, we ordered food that took an extremely long time to arrive, and at times never arrived at all. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy the amenities we had specifically come to experience. We also experienced several billing issues during our stay. Jamie, the manager, was involved in handling some of the charges, and despite our efforts to resolve the discrepancies, the situation became unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming. Another disappointing issue involved a bag that was left behind. What should have been a simple customer service matter turned into a stressful and difficult process. Communication was inconsistent, and we felt as though we had to repeatedly follow up to get information and assistance. To make matters worse, when we attempted to escalate our concerns, we spoke with a supervisor named Emily. During the conversation, she was dismissive, rude and hung up on us! Insane that this was the person we were trying to get help from. Despite the circumstances, we never received a follow-up call to address our concerns or continue the discussion. It's unfortunate because the property itself is truly beautiful, and we wanted to love our experience. However, luxury hospitality is about more than just the physical location, it is also about service, communication, and how guests are treated when problems arise. While Firefall Ranch has many wonderful qualities, the service issues we encountered left us disappointed. Based on our experience, we would never return or recommend this place to friends or family.

Who knew there was a little town inside Yosemite National Park where you can find cabins to rent?…read more Turns out, The Redwoods in Yosemite is a property management company that handles rentals of approximately 120 different cabins throughout the small town of Wawona in southern Yosemite. Over the Labor Day holiday we had a neat experience with Cabin 53. It had all of the basics that you could need and was cute and clean, and had decking all around. It was surrounded by a few other cabins and some nice pine trees. Staff from the Redwoods were friendly, accommodating, and responsive. There were many different sizes and types of cabins available, so both small and large groups can be accommodated. Unfortunately our cabin had a couple minor issues which couldn't be resolved, though they did try. The Redwoods community is located a short distance off the 41 in South Yosemite. It was still about 45 minutes to the main valley area, but it also had lots of neat things nearby as well. Still better than many options outside the park. Value was decent and we didn't feel like we were overcharged. This is a great option if you are looking for something a bit different to add that rustic cabin stay to your Yosemite trip.

I've stayed here twice at cabin 20B in the Redwoods and created so many memories in such a short…read moretime. The first was in 2021 and the most recent one was this past weekend in 2025. I have so much to talk about but I'll stick to what's important. First off, The Redwoods In Yosemite is an hour out from Yosemite Valley still. This can be a deal breaker for some especially if you're seeking for convenience and accessibility to the park. For me however the space and comfort meant more so thats why I chose these cabins. (Three bathrooms definitely come in handy) The plus side is you can do Yosemite Valley all in one day and split your trip the other day to see The Grizzly Giant and Mariposa grove. (Which is literally down the road from these cabins) Also I would like to thank the Redwoods staff for being very accommodating of our situation. Our original plans in September fell through during the Gifford fires and AQI was around 400-800 in Yosemite and Mariposa. They helped us reschedule to October with no additional cost. We are very thankful for this because we deal with an autoimmune disease that would make this trip dangerous. Our weekend was magical because of this reschedule. But let's talk about the cabin itself. Here at We-Dunn-It, it fits a party of 6 and is considered one of the older cabins here at the Redwoods. But just because it's old it doesn't mean it's not comfortable. They have a room for kids with a bunk bed, the master bed room and a third room downstairs that is nice and private. Each room is retrofitted with a heater/ac system so you are comfortable in Yosemite's hottest days and coldest nights. Even with this past weekend dipping into the 40's, we were very comfortable during our stay. As for amenities this cabin is well stocked with all the necessities you need. From dinnerware, kitchenware and cutlery, you can almost find everything you need here for your stay besides personal toiletries. The fridge, oven and microwave have been updated since my stay in 2021 which means the cabin owner takes really good care of their property. Last but not least let's talk about cleanliness. I never had a pest problem like the other reviews with other cabins on here, but you do get the occasional gnats that fly in. (Understandable because you are located in the middle of the woods still) The big thing I want to emphasize is because you are still in the middle of the woods whether you feel like it or not you should respect the grounds/house rules. This includes taking out your own trash and leaving no trace behind. It was magical to walk out of my cabin and be greeted with a sitting brown black bear. It was also a reminder that you need to do your part in order to keep these bears safe and wild. Please take out your trash immediately after you leave and dump them at the appropriate trash cans around the town. Now with all the great things this cabin provided I do have a bit of feedback for it. The first was we found some chip crumbs by the trashcan upon our arrival. Which meant it wasn't swept properly before us coming in. It was no big deal but the minor missed attention to detail caused me to reconsider if the rest of the cabin was properly cleaned. Last was the amount of dust in the cabin. After my stay in 2021 I learned from my lesson to bring an air purifier for my allergies. Thankfully this came in handy and made my latest stay more comfortable. I will say although there was less dust floating around, the bed frames still had a lot of dust and crumbs in its edges. This was a bit off putting especially when Im inspecting for bed bugs. Plus the throw pillows on the bed poofed tons of dust as we were moving them off the bed. We highly recommend just getting rid of these entirely because they seem uncleaned and unsanitary. Overall I would still highly recommend The Redwoods for your stay, and looking forward to potentially staying at the other cabins. Its proximity and space from Yosemite makes it the perfect spot for your family vacation.
