The lake view was STUNNNINGGG. My husband and I loved it. You could hear the river all day and night. Room was clean, a little outdated but still nice. Shower pressure was not the best. Wish there were more restaurant and food options in/around the hotel. read more

I've stayed here 4-5 times. I've recommended it to friends. It was an oasis close to the park. This time was different. The carpet and bedding was stained. The WiFi basically doesn't work. The TV resolution is shot. The carpet had this constant damp feel. The shower temp was most often cold with bursts of warm water for several minutes at a time. We were provided one roll of toilet paper, called for more when we were halfway through, and were told we should wait until we're completely out. The best part is the proximity to the park and the stunning river view. read more

Pro: Close distance to Yosemite. Reasonably priced rooms, food on site, and an indoor pool. Con: WiFi is terrible and there is no cellphone service. There was only 1 restaurant open (The River) This lodge is outdated, however, the location is ideal and the price is very reasonable compared to places inside Yosemite park. Overall, we had a good experience (aside from the WiFi) and enjoyed our stay. We stayed on the second floor and there were no elevators. So we had to lug all our bags up the stairs. The room was alright, it had a small kitchen area and a loft upstairs for the kids. There was a small grocery store /gift shop on site and an indoor pool. The River was the only restaurant open and was always packed. Prepare to wait. There was a small bar connected to the restaurant and that too was super busy. There was one worker who was making all the drinks and running around taking orders and grabbing food. Kinda chaotic. The food was alright, nothing special. My biggest complaint was the WiFi. The kids iPads kept losing service and sometimes there was none. We didn't spend much time at the lodge, only in the evenings. So it was doable. read more

Stayed here for a weekend in April! We were a bit worried because by the time we started planning the trip, all the lodging inside the park had been fully booked, so we were glad Yosemite View Lodge still had availability for a 5 person room. It's is actually the closest hotel outside the park! We checked in around 11:30pm and the front desk is open 24/7 which was convenient. Just a heads up that if you arrive later at night, you will probably have to park farther away and walk as the lot gets filled up quick. There are some Tesla chargers on-site. Room design was pretty cool! I have never been in a loft-style hotel room with an indoor staircase. Downstairs had the bathroom, kitchenette, TV, and a king bed, while upstairs had a TV and double bed. Room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. No AC, but there were ceiling fans which was sufficient for April. We did use the kitchenette to cook and it was a bit small which was expected. Definitely recommend checking out the game room on the property! There was billiards, ice hockey, ping pong, etc. It was very lively and we had a lot of fun! The main downside was the Wi-Fi. The connection was very weak and nothing would load on our phones which was frustrating, considering the signal in the area is already limited. Overall, despite the Wi-Fi issue, I would still consider staying here again because of the location - takes about 25 minutes to drive to Yosemite. Worn out furniture and fixtures, overworked employees, and way too expensive. Is I recall we stayed there three or four days. There were a broken fixtures in the bathroom, worn out carpets and the cheapest cookware and flatware you can imagine. And the restaurant just down the road is owned by the same people apparently. It was absolutely terrible. It took over an hour to get our food. And the food was frankly third rate. Apparently the guy who owns the thing is a dabbler and a dilettante. I don't think he knows much about the restaurant business nor the hotel business. But I believe they're the only game in town. So if you're going to go there, get a place outside the general park area. It will serve you better. read more

Had a great stay at Yosemite View Lodge in mid-October. The location really cannot be beat (unless you stay in the park of course), it only took about 10 minutes to get into the park. They have a lot of amenities here: a gift shop, multiple pools (both indoor and outdoor), a couple of restaurants, a game room, nice outside lounging areas, and it's dog friendly! The staff were all great too. I will say the walls are extremely thin and you can essentially hear everything but that's pretty typical of most hotels. The water pressure is also not great so just keep that in mind. But overall, would definitely recommend and would stay here again! read more

The only reason why people should stay here is to be close to Yosemite national Park. It's only 30 minutes away from the entrance IF there's nothing else left around to stay. BUT be warned This place has horrible Internet service and Wi-Fi even with the free Wi-Fi service they give you AND the reception area has horrible customer service. If you're checking in late, you have to ring the doorbell that is outside of the hotel in the hotel reception area that will look like it's closed. Pros: The good thing about this location is you're very close to the Merced river. They've added some Tesla superchargers, which is a nice addition and day passes to the pool and hot tub. Cons: their bathrooms and kitchen area and their bedrooms, carpet all need remodeling.. The food at the gift shop is the not best and in the past had more choices. They have a buffet style for breakfast at the restaurant that you pay $24.99 person and the food seems like it was all frozen and just reheated. I've stayed here many times in the past 10 years and I have to say their customer service has become the worst I've ever seen and you see my previous post attached. Now You don't get greeted at reception like before no welcome greeting or thank you for staying here. They're just ready to take your money. The price of the hotel has definitely increased significantly this time around. I was very disappointed that their housekeeping and front desk were very dishonest. I left a charger behind and came back the same day to pick it up. They refused to check the room until I asked again and became insistent that they look. I was told they never found it and I told them exactly where it was. Yes, it was an expensive charger and I was not looking forward to purchasing another one.. what bothered me the most was that I had a long 6 hr drive home and needed to charge my devices in my vehicle. I spent an hour explaining to them where it was and waiting around for someone to go look in the room and when the finally agreed to check the room the older Hispanic man and young man with tattoos on his arm came back out they didn't even make eye contact with me or even say if they had found it or not. I had to ask him and he just nodded his head "no". No apology given or said "I'm sorry that we couldn't find". At the end of the day someone there kept it and sadly they needed more I guess. I will not be staying here ever again. Please Don't leave any belongings and expect to get them back. read more

Yosemite View Lodge is a solid option when you want to stay close to Yosemite but cannot find availability inside the park. I was originally looking for in-park lodging, but this lodge, which is very close to the Ash Rock entrance, was the only place that could accommodate four consecutive nights over Labor Day weekend. My river-view room was perfectly located on the second floor near the main entrance and the store, which was great for late-night snacks. That said, there are a few things to note. During my stay, there was a long, intermittent power outage, and I was surprised that the property had no backup generators or even lanterns. At over $400 all-in a night, you would expect more than a single small flashlight. The rooms also feature hot tubs, but mine did not appear to be cleaned thoroughly. I did not try the main restaurant, but their pizza place was very popular and a solid post-hike dinner option -- about a 6/10 for me. Overall, I would still return. The location and convenience outweigh the issues, but I do hope they step up their maintenance and emergency preparedness. Note: Don't confuse this with Yosemite Valley Lodge (inside Yosemite), which has scarcer availability. read more

An older lodge, but the amenities including a pool, game room, restaurants and convenience store come in handy. A good place to wind down after a long day in the park. Drop off the key and talk to front desk and their answer is its an mistaken alarm and they will let manager know about it. Its that how this hotel wake up people to check out? The check out is 11am. Over all we had a pleasant stay in our room, like most hotels it is just a place to rest for the night. We had a party of six so we were in one of the bigger family suites, it was nice to have the extra space to stretch out and relax together in one big hotel room instead of getting two smaller rooms. There were a few minor negatives about the suite which included terrible water pressure in the showers, some of the dishes in the kitchen were still visibly dirty from the last guests, a little bit of wall paper in the kitchen was coming down and the spa tub switch was hidden behind the towels. Otherwise the room was cozy & welcoming, we felt relaxed and comfortable. I also liked the little travel toiletries that were provided, they had a nice smell to them. The property has a lot of fun amenities like an indoor pool & hot tub along with an outdoor pool & hot tub. It was nice to relax in the hot tub after a long day of travel. There was also a game room just a short walk from our room which had some board games, random books, two living rooms with sofas and TV's along with a big room that had a pool table, air hockey and more. A few of the electronic games in the room weren't on/working but there was still plenty to do! We hung out in the game room for quite sometime. Near the front desk is a large living room type area with plenty of seating where you can relax if you wish. There is also a pretty decent sized store & gift shop were you can find souvenirs, clothing and even do some light grocery shopping. The prices weren't bad, and they had a lot to choose from. We actually ended up buying our breakfast from their little shop, because surprisingly with how expensive the rooms are they don't even include a basic breakfast. If you want actual breakfast they had a small buffet in their on site restaurant, we didn't get breakfast there but looking at other reviews it was almost $22 per person which is pretty high. We did visit the restaurant for dinner while we were there. The property has two places to eat aside from the little grocery store they have there is a restaurant & a pizza place. For some reason the pizza spot is closed during the winter so the only option was the restaurant. Service was very slow, it took a while to get seated even with it being mostly empty and it took a long time to order then get our food. The tables were also very uneven and wobbly but I think that may be due to the floor. However the food was very good & the waiter in charge of refilling drinks was on top of making sure our glasses stayed full. The view of the river outside of our room was gorgeous and I loved sitting outside in a chair just listening to the sound of the running water. The hotel was over all pretty quiet at night so it was just you and the sound of nature which was peaceful. We also sat out near the river itself at a little firepit area they had set up. The view of the stars at night was spectacular. The short drive to Yosemite National Park from this hotel was also a plus because you can get into the park as soon as they open for the day and try to beat some of the crowds. read more

This place was perfect for a lodging right outside of Yosemite park. It was dog friendly and was very clean. We went in December and river was flowing! Hot tub was nice to watch tv and relax. The game room needs an update a lot of the equipment was on its last limbs. Mini store open til 10 in the lobby was very convenient since next grocery store was about 30 mins drive. We stayed at the YVL this past week for three nights and our visit was superb. We've read about some of the unfortunate experiences had by others and we suffered none of these. Our third floor Riverview room (3102) had a beautiful straight view of the Merced River, a single king bed with a small kitchenette that had utensils including a few pots and pans. It was perfect for making breakfast and easy dinners. My only negative here is that the in-room coffee is pretty lousy and you should either brew your own pot or get some from somewhere else. In terms of convenience, the lodge is just a few miles from the entrance to the park and a pleasure to get back to you after driving a number of hours seeing all of the sites and stopping for hikes. Housekeeping was excellent, as was the pizza from the on-site pizza parlor the first night we were there. If you're looking for a convenient meal that's delicious, don't miss it. Great value and location for a Yosemite trip! 20-25 minutes to the valley (tunnel view a little closer side) Not as expensive as in park hotels but similar looking in terms of quality and they do have A/C in each room. A nice shop down in entrance lobby and pizza/restaurant on site. Also saw a shuttle YARTS that can take you in but I just drove to where I wanted. Has several pools and hot tubs, which I tired. The outdoor pool was not heated and a nice little refresher. Worth booking and seems to have better availability but they do charge for Wifi at 24 hour clips. read more

We paid $433 a night for a Riverview room but were given one facing the hot tubs, then moved to another blocked by a tree. Management never responded to my complaint or photos. This feels like a scam; charging for views that don't exist.. and the lack of customer service says it all. The jets in the bath tub were moldy, the carpet was gross, and the mattress was lumpy.Save your money and stay elsewhere. read more

Perfect Stay Near Yosemite - Spacious, Comfortable, and Convenient! We had an incredible stay at Yosemite View Lodge! The amenities were fantastic--multiple pools to choose from, a restaurant, and a well-stocked store all within walking distance. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the spacious accommodations. Our room had three full queen beds, an extra living area, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette equipped with a stove, microwave, and a large fridge. It was also well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and everything we needed for our stay. We were blown away by how accessible and convenient everything was. The two TVs were a nice bonus, making it easy for everyone to unwind after a long day exploring Yosemite. The location is unbeatable--just minutes from the park entrance. I am a bit surprised to see that the overall rating for Yosemite View Lodge is only 3 stars. My experience here in September 2024 was a great one, and I feel this place is a great jumping off point for exploring the park. A friend and I had a standard queen size room which was affordable when considering the cost of accommodations in the are. We were here off season, so it was probably a better deal than during the peak travel times. Our room was on the second floor of the central building by the road. We were facing the main road, but actually it was fairly quiet as traffic in and out of the park was not busy at the time. We were close to the general store and lobby as well as to the pool area with hot tubs near the river. The room was well equipped with a kitchenette, spacious bathroom and comfortable beds. There are some aspects of the room that were older, but overall everything was clean and in good working order. I enjoyed my stay here, and I have a strong desire to return to Yosemite again in the future. Being in NY it's quite a hike, but I plan to come back and I would stay here again because it's definitely worth it for me, especially if you're going during a time that's not as busy (late september). I did see the accommodations within the park, and to be honest, while those are conveniently located, they are crowded and expensive. Yosemite View Lodge was a perfect alternative. read more

I called and asked if I could please get new sheet so I could change it, understand things happen and they probably didn't notice. But then when I was about to cover my daughter up I notice top one was dirty also!! THE ice bucket had hair In it also. When they finally brought the bed sheet they just gave it to me and left, so I had to leave the dirty one on the floor :( first time staying here and not a good experience. What a beautiful location to stay at when visiting Yosemite! The hotel offers everything you need: clean room, kitchenette, restaurant on property, store in the lobby and beautiful views of the Merced River. I stayed here for three nights with a friend and we had a good experience. It's the closest lodge to the park entrance, and they advertise as being 2 miles away from the park, which is true, but in reality it's more of a 30 minute drive into the valley and an hour to Glacier Point. That's not a complaint, but something to consider if you're thinking of booking here. You still need a car if you want to get into the park. The price is expensive considering the accommodations, but since there aren't many places to choose from to stay, they can get away with the pricing. Overall though, the bed was comfortable and I liked the high ceilings of the room. The kitchenette is also a nice plus. I didn't go to the restaurant (looked way too expensive for what they were offering), and Parkside Pizza cost me $18 for a small (4 slice) and a soda. You're better off buying some groceries and cooking them there. The prices within the little convenience store were not too bad. I also enjoyed the fitness center and pool. The fitness center had free weights, kettlebells, some cardio equipment (which I didn't use) and a strength machine station. It was just enough to get in a small workout while on vacation. Only complaint is the room was very dry. We left the air conditioning on and that also contributed to the dryness. As others have said, the decor isn't the most modern, but overall I had a pleasant stay here and would return again. read more

Our 3 nights and 4 days at this lodge in May was amazing as it served the purpose of providing clean room with cozy beds, large bath tub/shower space with mineral water, practical kitchen, small refrigerator that contained our drinks, produces, etc., air conditioner that can be turned on 24 hours, cool BBQ areas, several fire pits and swimming pools, wonderful customer service, and a breath taking river view. It was just as my sister told me. She visited couple months prior to our visit and recommended me this place, which I was so glad. They have a lounge next to the front desk where you can access to wi-fi and internet with a fee, hang out and relax in front of the fire place, and lots of tables and chairs so you can sit and eat comfortably. Most convenient thing was they have a small market on the other side of the front desk where you can buy basic produce such as eggs, bread, milk, etc., medicine, snacks, etc. Also, if you didn't have a chance to buy any souvenir, there is nothing to worry since they have a gift store right next to the market. If you don't feel like cooking, they have you covered. They have a restaurant inside the property. We didn't have a chance to visit but looked like the guests were satisfied with the food and service. During our stay, we needed more detergent for the dishes so we called the front desk and it arrived within 10-15 minutes. On top of that, he brought two detergents, which was impressive. There are two things that I would like to share. First is, if you return to the lodge late starting from 5pm, you probably have to park your car far from your room since the parking lot fills out really fast. Another thing is, if you booked a room with Merced river view and are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because it is very loud due to the water stream. read more

The only reason I would recommend this, is location, location, location. Definitely had stayed in far better places! We stayed at the Laurel section and had a 2nd floor King room. The decor was perfect but the room was dark even with all the light fixtures. Lack of electrical outlets cause them to have an extension cord across the carpet. We've stayed in 3 different rooms: standard king, river king, and river queen. We enjoyed our stay. It's the closest accommodation outside the park- Yosemite entrance gate was probably 5 minutes away. There's a restaurant, pizza shop, and market on the premises. We ate the meat lovers pizza multiple nights and really liked it! There's a game room that gets busy at night. The market has utensils, plates, bowls, pads, tampons, diapers, baby wipes, souvenirs, food, etc. There's also a gas station about 5 minutes down the road. Our favorite part was playing in the Merced River! Even if you don't stay in a river room, you can still enjoy the river. The different buildings vary in quality- I think Sequoia is a newer building. Our river queen room was in the Sequoia building and we loved it! All 3 of our rooms were clean, and had plenty of soap and towels. Staff quick to help when we had questions. The place is decent, I can't complain. The stove didn't work, and we couldn't call them because phones are down. The food at the restaurant is decent for the price. It's a better version of a McDonald's food. Bacon was delicious! So if you're looking for a decent hotel, this is it. It's on the older side, like the tv, shower, and items in the room. Stayed here while visiting Yosemite, and I'll give the positives first: 1. Location. You can't get closer without staying in the park. 2. Views. The rooms facing the Merced have fantastic views! 3. Pools/Spas. There are many of them, and they are nice. Unfortunately that's about it. If you are looking for a slightly more comfortable experience than camping, then this is the place for you. More motel than hotel... amenities are lacking. If you need Internet to enjoy your vacation, be warned, the Internet here is TERRIBLE and not usable for even uploading pictures to social media, forget streaming. Not a concern if you're here to enjoy nature, but be warned and set your expectations accordingly. We had multiple issues with the front desk. Most of the employees were very nice, there was one gentlemen who was downright rude and obnoxious (see other reviews below, we're not the only ones who experienced this gentleman's "hospitality"). However nice does not equal competent. On several occasions we called to request things like towels (there were 4 of us in the room, yet only 2 towels provided), a fresh dish sponge (the one that was there when we arrived was clearly used and filled with bits of food and dirt), additional coffee for the coffee machine, and toilet/facial tissue... they were happy to assist us and say that the supplies would be right up, but they never arrived. I made many trips to the lobby to pick these things up myself. In the room itself, the carpet was dirty (but hey, it's Yosemite, lots of people hiking, tracking in dirt, it's to be expected), the lights in the ceiling fan did not work, the fan itself made a ticking sound when on that was quite annoying and impossible to sleep with, the water pressure was nonexistent... making baths the only real option to get clean. The 'freezer' in the fridge did not keep things frozen, even for a matter of hours. There is a closet and a couple of drawers in the nightstand between the bed, but that is it for storage. This place is great if you are just looking for something more comfortable than a tent... but if you're expecting a hotel or resort type experience here, as I said earlier, think of it as a high-end motel and you won't be disappointed. Lastly for the food options, there are two restaurants onsite, check the reviews for both of them, then go to the pizza place. read more

We stayed for two nights while visiting YNP. This hotel is conveniently located just outside of the park entrance. The place has multiple pools, a fitness center, and restaurants on proper. Some staff was very polite and greeted guests, while other staff didn't acknowledge guests or gave looks that appeared as though they were mad and disliked that were at work. Overall it was a nice place, just need to ignore the staff that aren't polite. read more

We went to shop from the store next to the check-in desk at night after a long day inside the park and the front desk older bald man literally hid behind a wall in plain view to avoid helping us. So bizarre. You're not invisible - we could see you. Night staff, stop being weird. You didn't make us feel out of place, no. You just made us think that something was wrong with you - weird. It was honestly hilarious and absurd. The younger man that checked us out in the morning at the front desk was perfectly nice and normal. Yea, I'd stay here again. The room itself was very comfortable and perfect distance from the park. Y'all just got a staff email to send out or team huddle to hold about the customer service vibes. read more

Great location, wonderful view of the river. Prices were a bit high. Glad that they welcomed dogs; they even had a little dog area on the property. My only complaint was having to wait 20 minutes to purchase my items from the convenience store because the employees were too busy helping people check in to the hotel. They would help people that arrived after me while I was waiting at the counter. I found this to be pretty rude as I and those behind me were not even acknowledged. Despite this experience, we would still likely return due to the location and that amazing balcony view of the river.
