It got me humming in my seat. Shout out to my Kitchen Fam!!! I was literally tearing up at bar b/c I was so wrecked from the hike due to some endured muscle/ feet/ leg strains etc. and the welcome, patience and understanding that I received made my life better. We had an amazing vacation and recommend staying at Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite. The lodge was established in 1921 and has everything you need, from food to entertainment. Our cabin was nice and clean and had board games for kids to play with. I liked the smell of their complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion that the lodge makes. There are also outdoor games like Bocce and ping pong tables. If you want to relax, the lodge has a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, and massage room. They also set up bonfires to enjoy s'mores in the evenings. We really enjoyed their All-you-can-eat BBQ night in the swimming pool area. The pool bar made delicious drinks. That was our hangout!! If you don't want the All-you-can-eat BBQ, there's a restaurant at the lodge to order food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or you can buy snacks at their General Store. They also sell beer and wine. The General Store has souvenirs as well. Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite also offers glamping tents, a laundry room, bike rentals, and fun classes for adults and children, for example, if you wanted to learn glassblowing. You can also book tours from the lodge. Our toddler enjoyed the kids' playground and I enjoyed the zip-line. The lodge is less than 20 minutes away from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir with beautiful views of a waterfall and it's a 17-mile drive to Yosemite National Park. Nice hotel room, very clean, private and comfortable. The lodge is in a great location for getting to Yosemite valley or Hetch Hetchy. I would stay here again for this reason alone. That being said, the food was ok. The Burger at lunch was GREAT, the fries that came with it, absolutely STELLAR after a day of hiking. Breakfast was fine, average. No issues there. Dinner sucked. Our food came out cold multiple times and we were there for over 2 hours. We watched a couple arrive 15 min after us, get their food and leave well before us. We ordered the smoked salmon dip, it came out with a hot-ish edge and cold center- yuck. Had to send it back to be properly heated. Then our main dishes arrived cold. The mash potatoes with my braised short rib were room temp. The pasta was obviously sitting based on the dried up sauce. The pasta was also cold. We waitress tried to reassure (gaslight) that the food had just come out. We sent the food back to be properly heated. After being reheated, the food was fine. They did gave us the meal for free b/c of all the issues we experienced that night- which was kind. I have never experienced so many issues while at a restaurant or felt the need to send food back. I stayed at the Evergreen Lodge a couple of years ago and had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect for exploring Yosemite, and having a wonderful experience by the woods. Recently, I had made plans to stay again, but a family matter interrupted our plans. The service from Tom at the front desk was excellent, empathetic, and understanding. Recently, we had the opportunity to visit this beautiful serene setting for a wedding. The cabins are perfect accommodations for a rustic woodsy stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff were so nice and friendly and answered all our questions with ease. It really was a wonderful weekend - everyone is so nice and made our stay even better. The Tavern has lots of delicious choices for breakfast, with a wait staff that made sure our coffee cups were always full. One staffer saw us trying to figure out where the ceremony was happening, and they literally stopped what they were doing and walked us to the beautiful ceremony setting; well above and beyond his regular duties. If you have the opportunity to visit Yosemite, a 100% recommend staying at the Evergreen Lodge- we will definitely be coming back. read more

We loved this place!! It was beautiful and clean! Quiet, yet a lot to do on the property! Cabin were perfect -- had heat and a/c and an Alexa speaker -- was not expecting that. The team there was so nice and pleasant and cared about us. I love that they are now allowing dogs. Ours were service dogs; however, they are allowing dogs now! That's the only way we could have stayed there. After driving those crazy curvy roads through Yosemite it as a beautiful oasis to arrive and stay at this place! Highly recommend! read more

Stayed here recently with my kids outside of Yosemite. This is the perfect place to stay with kids. We stayed in the Deluxe King Cabin which we were able to go make work with 2 little kids and a baby. We didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin anyway. The cabin was clean and the bathroom was nice and came with plenty of tolietries. There is so much for kids to do here. My kids loved the wooden playground and zip line. When we were in the park, they kept asking if we could go back to the lodge and play there. The pool was also nice with great views. My kids loved the free smores every night. In terms of food, you are a bit isolated here. They have an on site restaurant. It is expensive but the food is pretty good. They also have a small store/cafe with things you can buy to pack for your hike for the day along with coffee, muffins etc. We found the poolside BBQ they offer to be the best deal. It is all you can eat and we specifically waited for the night they were going to have steak and mahi mahi to do it. It was delicious. I also want to add that I appreciate that they don't allow dogs here! Not even something I usually think to look at, but the second hotel we stayed at on this trip was dog friendly and really made the experience un enjoyable. All the staff we encountered were great. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley from here. I can see the appeal of staying in the park but we honestly got much better amenities here for the price. Also, the Hetch Hetchy entrance is right by the lodge and we ended up doing a day there as well. All of the staff here were great. I would defintley stay here again. read more

oh my GAWD this place was an oasis!!!! The lodging was comfortable and they accommodated us with space heaters when it was cold in the cabin, and we appreciated how eco conscious it was. Now onto the restaurant... so good I'm still thinking about it 6 months later. We arrived on October 30th 2024 and it was our bartender's birthday! We sat at the bar and had a total ball. His colleagues came around with a book for everyone to sign and it was all very sweet. Our drinks were great and my travel companion asked the bartender to get creative making him something citrusy with tequila (see first picture) it was delicious. The food blew me away and I don't think it's just because I was so hungry. It's amazing that I even got a picture before I scarfed it all down. Best tomato soup I've ever had in my life and WOW to the rosemary agave portobello and the strawberry burrata salad. You can't go wrong with anything here, it's a gem and if I return to Yosemite this will be my first stop. read more

--- Review is for Massages --- My partner and I scheduled massages here at the Evergreen Lodge. We were scheduled with Imari, and she had to give the massages one after the next since she was the only MT on staff that day. My partner went first, and coincidentally, she is an MT herself with 20 years experience under her belt. When her massage was over, I guess she communicated that to Imari and I'm sure it was quite the compliment to know that her bodywork movements were that exceptional. For me, I found her to be quite welcoming. She communicated that she doesn't talk during treatment unless to ask questions about the pressure. I LOVE that. She also had very fluid movements and maintained a relaxing pressure that wasn't uncomfortable. This review is two part. First for the Lodge accommodations and the second for the on-site Restaurant and Tavern. We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again. read more

What a GREAT place for families! My wife and I went with 3 kids (ages 14, 11, 3). There's a lot to do on the grounds including a huge dedicated game room, salt water heated pool, spa, play structure, and all kinds of board games plus daily activities like clay sculpting, crafts, bingo, and more. The wifi was strong too, which was helpful. The lodge is about 45 minutes from Yosemite, but the drive feels short with so much beautiful scenery to behold. The drive never bothered us. We stayed in a deluxe king cabin. The bathroom was spacious and the pure well water leaves your skin feeling very smooth. The room size is just right for a cozy family feel and the deck was a nice touch. The mini fridge held our colds well and the gas fireplace kept us perfectly warm. It was quiet at night, and the grounds were clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Each of our requests were met quickly and with ease. The only, singular downside is that there is no cooking allowed. I don't think this will bother most guests at the lodge. We love to cook our own meals whenever possible and prefer them over restaurants and pre-packed foods. Shout out to Jacob on staff who helped us get the reservations we needed! Thank you!!! As you're driving down the sparsely populated, rough, narrow road, past some cows, you never really guess at how nice this lodge actually is, but then you drive right up on top of it, like an oasis appearing in the desert. The lodge is very nice and a great place to stay if you're visiting the Hetch Hetchy dam area or before heading into Yosemite. The lodge was very full despite my middle of the week, non-holiday visit, so I can only imagine how busy they would be in season. With the whole 'Cabin' vibe of the lodge, when we went to the restaurant, I was expecting more hearty, country-style fare, but the menu clearly reflects their SF/LA based clientele and has a healthier lineup, but everyone can find something they would enjoy. Our maître d' at 7:15 AM, wasn't too welcoming of a presence, but the waitstaff was superb, and we very much enjoyed her time throughout the meal. read more

First of all, a BIG shout out to manager Jake Bangs for having the patience and tenacity to keep sending emails and making calls to Super.com to get our refund back which, after a two week period was finally resolved. We booked a cabin with Superdot for Evergreen during a trip through California. Our email receipt from Superdot showed confirmation for a CABIN. When I called Evergreen Lodge to confirm our booking, someone working there had booked us into a TENT which THEIR email confirmed. We had to look for a different hotel for the night which was a great inconvenience as we had to travel further away to find one. The next day I called Superdot to get our refund and they said we had to call the hotel so the hotel manager could authorize the cancellation of the hotel reservation. I spoke to hotel manager Jake Bangs and he sent an email to Superdot initially stating we didn't stay there because there was no cabin and the booking was canceled. I then spoke to a different representative at Superdot again and they said that certain requirements were needed to be made by the hotel manager in order for us to get a refund. Over a period of two weeks, many phone calls and emails were sent back-and-forth between manager Jake with about seven different representatives and with the requirements changing over several different emails. The requirements were: the date of the booking and the end date, the name of the party booked, there was no penalty and the signature of the hotel manager, and address of the hotel. We finally got to the point where all of the requirements were met by Jake and Superdot finally gave us a refund. Super.com says that their reservations are nonrefundable, but in this instance, the booking mistake was not our fault and so neither I nor the hotel manager should have had to have gone through so many hoops to get this refund. But persistence paid off. I hope anyone else reading this will now know how to navigate through super.com to get their refund. read more

A beautiful lodge to stop and unwind or stay! In a very picturesque area of the park (I should say close to park if you want to get to exactly so do your research). Wonderful restaurant, the evening we stopped by we got lucky there was an outdoor "all you can eat" bbq for dinner happening as well as the restaurant dining and bonus live music with a very cool band. What motivated me to make this review right now as I sit here enjoying life was meeting the wonderful CAT at the reception desk. She was a godsend! She was incredibly friendly, and so informative. While we did not stay for this visit, we will certainly be back to this part of the park just to bring the best of the family to come here. Great vibe, location, good, adult beverages ;) and awesome staff! All that makes for a good stay and trip. Thank you Cat for making even the visitors feel so welcomed at the lodge. Hope to see you soon! Helpful info for Tesla/EVs drivers: Lodge has two charging stations for HOTEL GUESTS only. These are not Tesla super charge stations and time limit to charge is 3.5 hours. My family and I came here on our visit to Yosemite and had a lovely time. This is a very family friendly resort and is an absolutely beautiful property that is super clean and well-maintained. They have a great café with friendly, happy, polite staff, and an awesome gift shop that we spent probably far too much money at due to their good selection. We came to California for a 10 day trip and we wished that we stayed here for a large portion of it. They also have a great restaurant on property. We loved our server Danny he was very attentive and extremely kind to our son. He is a gem. If you're considering camping at Yosemite, I would recommend to do this lodge instead as it has everything you need and more and they still have options for family tents that are already set up for you if you're looking to camp. We debated on staying here or at their sister property- Rush Creek Lodge. In the end, we went with Evergreen Lodge. Evergreen is about a 10 minute drive from the main road where Rush Creek is. It's also a mile from the Hetch Hetchy entrance in Yosemite. The cabins are set in the woods. Our cabin was spacious. The beds weren't too comfortable though. There is no TV in the rooms, but there are some old board games. The WiFi would go down at times. The only convenient food option is their restaurant. While the food is decent, it is also overpriced. The property has daily activities. There is also a swimming pool and hot tub, but it isn't something we wanted brave in the cold. The kids in our group enjoyed the play area and the adults went on the mini zipline. We also went to Tuolumne Hall one night. It has a toddler play zone, pool table, shuffleboard, and foosball. Another night, we walked over to Sunset Point for the view. Because we were a large group, we stayed at three different cabins. If we were to come back, we would like to stay at the John Muir House. Not only does it have three bedrooms/ bathrooms, it also has a full kitchen. read more

We had an amazing stay here! Beautiful lodge with all the resort amenities. Everything was amazing. They have a restaurant, coffee, shop, and lodges themselves are way more than you would expect out in the wilderness. My only challenge with Evergreen was the location, for us, we wanted to go into the valley daily so the drive was pretty hard each day. But if you are looking to stay at the lodge for a day and only go to the valley every other day or visit other areas this spot is perfect. The drive to get to the lodge from the main road is pretty rough, def suggest not driving it at night. This resort is nestled about a mile west Yosemite National Park and 5+ miles north of Highway 120. It was built in circa 2001 and is well maintained. The cabins are surrounded by trees but lighted asphalt paths connect everything. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is nice with a limited but diverse menu. The Spinach Salad is excellent but could use some crunch, like sunflower, pine, or pumpkin seeds. Oh and it would be great if they added complimentary bread for dinner. For a family friendly woodsy cabin experience that has easy access to the park, Evergreen Lodge can't be beat. read more

What a hidden gem! Hidden being key word. As we drove down this road I asked my husband several times if we were going the right way. The entire stay, from the first impression to our checkout was so perfect. The cottage we stayed in was adorable, the food was amazing, the staff were soooo friendly and the kid's activities were so perfect! They had an amazing play area just steps from our cabin complete with a zip line. We were there for Halloween, and there was a day of activities planned, our daughter loved the pumpkin carving, and trick or treating. read more

The lodge setting is beautiful and the accommodations are fine. The problem is the restaurant/bar and a few of the staff that are not properly trained or unable to do their job. We had a party of 5, for 4 dinners. At least 1 meal was wrong (E.g. very rare burgers. ordered medium well) each night. On two occasions, one of us got our food late after the rest of the party was done eating. A half hearted apology from the staff, and nothing more. Poor customer service. A bartender, that wasn't really a bartender made us a few horrible expensive drinks before we realized he was a last minute fill in. Very disappointed in the restaurant and bar that had been very good on previous vacations. read more

I learned how bad my sleep apnea could get at this lodge. I literally stopped breathing that night and morning. Then a creepy guest started making fun of me outside my cabin. When they encourage you to park in the handicapped spot, you might want to find a deity and hope your afterlife won't be there that soon. Stayed one night here. It is off the main road way. Have to drive to it on a bumpy road. Had to let some cows cross the road to get to our destination lol. Such a pretty pic. Friendly check I staff. What a special place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Evergreen Lodge, with its rustic charm, plethora of fun things to do when not hiking Yosemite (swimming pool and hot tub, bike riding, ping pong, tavern and poolside bar, stargazing, among others), and great service from the staff. Our cabin was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. Such a good sleep with windows and sliding door to private deck open! Wifi in the room and common areas. No TVs in the rooms, a good thing when visiting the splendor of Yosemite. Picking Evergreen Lodge based on proximity to the Big Oak Flat and Hetch Hetchy Entrances to Yosemite proved to be a wise decision. We were able to arrive early, ahead of the rush, each day of our stay. To squeeze in even more, we also hiked idyllic Carlon Springs Falls before checkout our last day. The restaurant, reviewed separately, was top notch. When getting here, or driving to the lower valley or especially Hetch Hetchy, one must be comfortable driving on narrow, winding roads with no guardrails and steep drop offs if you make one false move. We had a brief stay at Evergreen Lodge and are already looking for a time we can go back. There are so many fun amenities and activities right on the property, we weren't able to take advantage of them all this time. Evening s'mores were a hit with the kids, as were all the play areas and especially the zipline. Tom at the front desk was very helpful in figuring out what to do with our short time, as well as some last minute requests. We booked a family cabin room for our family of four and were very pleased. The food on property was good as well -- which is a relief, considering there are no other options. Cabins have no Tv which is fine but wish they had a microwave but had a great time. The general store had some grocery items and they have a microwave and toaster. I enjoyed the breakfast burritos. I say experience once. It was about 15 min from the main road but a short distance from the Yosemite entrance made going back and forth convenient. read more

We stayed in the tents and it was amazing to stroll into camp with the tent ready to go, and to stroll out leaving it all behind! Loved the Rec Room's fire and s'mores outside. Would absolutely do this again. read more

A hidden gem! Exactly what I needed this summer. Was a little nervous given COVID, but Evergreen went above and beyond. Lots of outdoor seating. Huge pool with lots of space to distance. Great food. The BBQ Friday night was awesome. 45 min from Yosemite Valley, but worth it. We stayed in a family tent. Clean, neat and huge. Bathrooms very clean as well. Next time would love to try a cabin. Bocce ball, natural playground with zip line, disc golf, bikes, Rec room, outdoor ping pong, and many fire pits for their free s'mores each night. We will be back! read more

Stayed here a few days to explore Yosemite, great service & cozy rooms. Upon arrival we were upgraded from a 1 bed cabin to a 3 bed, 2 room & living room family cabin without asking. Very convenient that they have a store & restaurant on property which has great food. Very pleased read more
