What a fantastic cozy quiet spot. We had an amazing time! Room was perfectly clean and comfortable with great views from our balcony. We stayed in the deluxe king cabin and will definitely be back.

Perfect cabins. Fantastic dining. Delightful staff! Close to Yosemite but far away from the crowd.

Stayed here recently with my kids outside of Yosemite. This is the perfect place to stay with kids. We stayed in the Deluxe King Cabin which we were able to go make work with 2 little kids and a baby. We didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin anyway. The cabin was clean and the bathroom was nice and came with plenty of tolietries. There is so much for kids to do here. My kids loved the wooden playground and zip line. When we were in the park, they kept asking if we could go back to the lodge and play there. The pool was also nice with great views. My kids loved the free smores every night. In terms of food, you are a bit isolated here. They have an on site restaurant. It is expensive but the food is pretty good. They also have a small store/cafe with things you can buy to pack for your hike for the day along with coffee, muffins etc. We found the poolside BBQ they offer to be the best deal. It is all you can eat and we specifically waited for the night they were going to have steak and mahi mahi to do it. It was delicious. I also want to add that I appreciate that they don't allow dogs here! Not even something I usually think to look at, but the second hotel we stayed at on this trip was dog friendly and really made the experience un enjoyable. All the staff we encountered were great. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley from here. I can see the appeal of staying in the park but we honestly got much better amenities here for the price. Also, the Hetch Hetchy entrance is right by the lodge and we ended up doing a day there as well. All of the staff here were great. I would defintley stay here again.

oh my GAWD this place was an oasis!!!! The lodging was comfortable and they accommodated us with space heaters when it was cold in the cabin, and we appreciated how eco conscious it was. Now onto the restaurant... so good I'm still thinking about it 6 months later. We arrived on October 30th 2024 and it was our bartender's birthday! We sat at the bar and had a total ball. His colleagues came around with a book for everyone to sign and it was all very sweet. Our drinks were great and my travel companion asked the bartender to get creative making him something citrusy with tequila (see first picture) it was delicious. The food blew me away and I don't think it's just because I was so hungry. It's amazing that I even got a picture before I scarfed it all down. Best tomato soup I've ever had in my life and WOW to the rosemary agave portobello and the strawberry burrata salad. You can't go wrong with anything here, it's a gem and if I return to Yosemite this will be my first stop.

--- Review is for Massages --- My partner and I scheduled massages here at the Evergreen Lodge. We were scheduled with Imari, and she had to give the massages one after the next since she was the only MT on staff that day. My partner went first, and coincidentally, she is an MT herself with 20 years experience under her belt. When her massage was over, I guess she communicated that to Imari and I'm sure it was quite the compliment to know that her bodywork movements were that exceptional. For me, I found her to be quite welcoming. She communicated that she doesn't talk during treatment unless to ask questions about the pressure. I LOVE that. She also had very fluid movements and maintained a relaxing pressure that wasn't uncomfortable. This is a long drive for us from Napa, but if Imari was still on staff at this location in the future, we would certainly book with her again. Thank you for reading!

Such a nice Lodge! Wish we could have spent more time there. It is off the beaten path, so I would recommend driving out during the day unlike us driving out at night. Amazing grounds, really special! We rented a family tent (glamping). It was so nice and clean, beds were super cozy! There were chargers for your phones, Bathrooms were nice and clean! Two thumbs up!!

I sat on the porch eating nuts and my friend here was eating something as well. I felt like Doctor Doolittle.

Everything was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The cabins were quaint, rustic and perfect. The grounds were natural and well kept. The perfect location for city people to become re-grounded with nature.

Really loved how accessible this place made the park and "camping" experience. Went with a large family group and everyone (ages from 23-90) had a great time and everything they needed. Beautiful campus, good service, fabulous location. Thanks!

As you're driving down the sparsely populated, rough, narrow road, past some cows, you never really guess at how nice this lodge actually is, but then you drive right up on top of it, like an oasis appearing in the desert. The lodge is very nice and a great place to stay if you're visiting the Hetch Hetchy dam area or before heading into Yosemite. The lodge was very full despite my middle of the week, non-holiday visit, so I can only imagine how busy they would be in season. With the whole 'Cabin' vibe of the lodge, when we went to the restaurant, I was expecting more hearty, country-style fare, but the menu clearly reflects their SF/LA based clientele and has a healthier lineup, but everyone can find something they would enjoy. Our maître d' at 7:15 AM, wasn't too welcoming of a presence, but the waitstaff was superb, and we very much enjoyed her time throughout the meal.

    Great outdoor live music!

A beautiful lodge to stop and unwind or stay! In a very picturesque area of the park (I should say close to park if you want to get to exactly so do your research). Wonderful restaurant, the evening we stopped by we got lucky there was an outdoor "all you can eat" bbq for dinner happening as well as the restaurant dining and bonus live music with a very cool band. What motivated me to make this review right now as I sit here enjoying life was meeting the wonderful CAT at the reception desk. She was a godsend! She was incredibly friendly, and so informative. While we did not stay for this visit, we will certainly be back to this part of the park just to bring the best of the family to come here. Great vibe, location, good, adult beverages ;) and awesome staff! All that makes for a good stay and trip. Thank you Cat for making even the visitors feel so welcomed at the lodge. Hope to see you soon! Helpful info for Tesla/EVs drivers: Lodge has two charging stations for HOTEL GUESTS only. These are not Tesla super charge stations and time limit to charge is 3.5 hours. If you are a Tesla driver plan accordingly and do make sure you have your converter thingy to fit the universal nozzle. Clearly this is not my love language just a way I get places.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to assist me when I call. I was told that I needed to email the restaurant manager, Rachel T., but she has not responded to any of my emails. I also left a voicemail, which has not been returned. What happened today was especially unacceptable. I called and spoke with an assistant manager named Sarah. I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" I then asked to speak with a manager because her response was completely inappropriate. Before the issue could be addressed, the call was disconnected. After nearly a month of unanswered emails, an unreturned voicemail, and this extraordinarily disrespectful interaction, I am extremely disappointed. Rush Creek Lodge urgently needs to retrain its managers and assistant managers on basic professionalism and customer service. This level of treatment is unacceptable.

We were welcomed by Roy at the front desk, who was such a pleasant and kind gentleman. We asked him about Lyle's Room, and he generously shared the history and stories behind it. To our surprise, he even offered to give us a tour. That was completely unexpected and made the experience even more special. As Roy walked us up to the room, he told us more about Lyle and the stories connected to the room. Being able to go inside was amazing. The room was beautiful, and the entire hotel has such a unique, historic charm. Every part of the property felt warm, peaceful, and well cared for. I stayed in the Orion Room, and after hearing the stories about Lyle knocking things off the dresser, I made sure to keep my things nice and clean while I was there! We let the hotel know in advance that we'd be arriving late, past office hours, and their contactless check-in process was very easy - they made sure to let us know via email exactly what to expect upon after hours arrival. Our envelope and room key were easy to find, and that's when we noticed we had been assigned Room 15: "Lyle's Room." It is an older inn-style hotel; the room itself was clean, charmingly decorated, and the bed was comfortable. Our dogs were totally fine and relaxed. The only thing I found a little unusual was an extra sink being inside the bedroom area near the dresser and facing the bed, but I chalked it up to the design of an older historic hotel. That night, while we were winding down and watching something on our phone since there was no TV in the room, I noticed the sink turn on and off a couple of times for about 1-2 seconds each. I figured it was just old plumbing. Other than that, nothing else out of the ordinary and we slept peacefully. The next morning is when things got interesting. We left for an early morning hike, and when we came back and put the key in the door, the entire doorknob fell off. We couldn't get into the room. When we went to the front desk, they simply said, "Oh, Lyle!" and called maintenance. Once maintenance arrived, he let us in and fixed the doorknob. While we were packing up, my husband went to take a shower. Everything was fine until he tried to turn the shower off and realized the knob just kept spinning. The shower would not shut off!! We quickly got dressed and notified the front desk right away, while the shower continued running. Then steam started wafting into the bedroom, and we realized the water was very hot with no way to cool it down or stop it! Maintenance came back, worked on it, and realized he needed a completely new part, so he had to leave and return while the water kept running. The staff and maintenance handled everything with a great attitude and great, responsive service despite the chaos. We later found out it was the maintenance guy's first day on the job, and everyone joked that Lyle was just giving him a hard time on day one. After the fact, we learned more about Lyle's Room and its haunted reputation, and honestly, we are believers after having no idea about him! It felt like Lyle was making himself known and having a little fun. We did some post-stay research, and we found out that Lyle is actually known for causing mischief in those exact ways - water issues, room access problems, and little disruptions like the ones we experienced, which made the whole experience feel even more eerie and oddly fitting! Overall, the Groveland Hotel is a nice, charming, older hotel, and we'd stay again. Clean, comfortable, and just enough amenities for a decent overall stay in a small town. That said, I don't think we'd stay in Lyle's Room again, haha. At first, I wished we had been given a heads-up that the room was famously haunted, but on second thought, I probably would have requested a different room if I had known. So maybe it was better this way - definitely a memorable stay! Thanks Groveland Hotel, and Lyle!

The location is fantastic, the accommodations are well designed, and the pools and amenities are excellent. The setting truly feels like a luxury retreat and has the potential to be an exceptional destination. Unfortunately, several service issues significantly impacted our stay. One of the biggest frustrations involved food service at the pool. On multiple occasions, we ordered food that took an extremely long time to arrive, and at times never arrived at all. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy the amenities we had specifically come to experience. We also experienced several billing issues during our stay. Jamie, the manager, was involved in handling some of the charges, and despite our efforts to resolve the discrepancies, the situation became unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming. Another disappointing issue involved a bag that was left behind. What should have been a simple customer service matter turned into a stressful and difficult process. Communication was inconsistent, and we felt as though we had to repeatedly follow up to get information and assistance. To make matters worse, when we attempted to escalate our concerns, we spoke with a supervisor named Emily. During the conversation, she was dismissive, rude and hung up on us! Insane that this was the person we were trying to get help from. Despite the circumstances, we never received a follow-up call to address our concerns or continue the discussion. It's unfortunate because the property itself is truly beautiful, and we wanted to love our experience. However, luxury hospitality is about more than just the physical location, it is also about service, communication, and how guests are treated when problems arise. While Firefall Ranch has many wonderful qualities, the service issues we encountered left us disappointed. Based on our experience, we would never return or recommend this place to friends or family.
