On a test trial currently. Very clean. Always has disinfectant for cleaning machines. Not crowded in the mornings. Would be great to have spin bikes. They have lots of stair climbers, elliptical and treadmills. Bring a pad if you want to do the glute bridge machine, it's a bone killer. Our biggest problem is the temperature at 5:30 am. It's hot as heck and feels as if the AC doesn't come on until 7am. Torture...If you are sensitive to temps I would go to LA Fitness. read more

I signed up for one year without a contract but again for the second time they've screwed me up... About one month prior to my contract ending I called and ask if there's anything I need to do to cancel, because I paid upfront for 1 yr and I move. I was informed that I didn't have to sign anything because the contract ends in February and I would not renew.. They refused to reimburse me sighting the contract that I didn't read and signed thinking they are trustworthy when an associate and, I believe, a manager told me the only cost is the $14.99 monthly I paid 19.99 plus an annual fee of $53.49 that starts in June even though I canceled my membership in the same month without a single visit. It's not a sound business practice. Shame on you YouFit. So your managers and employees can deceive new clients and say it's only $14.99 a month and as soon as they sign up you charge them $19.99 and a $54 annual fee? And when they confront you, you tell them sorry you already signed and refer them to the agreement? I canceled the same month I signed up yet you still charged me $74 even though I did not come in for a single workout!!! This youfit is small. Wish they would take over the old Winn Dixie area to expand. Before Covid it was a high turnover with staff. Never seen anyone last more than a few months. The equipment is in decent shape. A lot of nasty people work out here. 95% do not wipe down the machine before or after they use it. 10 am High Intensity Interval Training at Dania Pointe location is great. It Mon-Fri, and the instructor keeps everyone engaged. I get more out of this workout than any other class they have. I am not sure why the class size has grown, but YouFit will not provide a room for a 30 minute workout. Area of improvement: Members are on top of each other in a small area in the open. This gym is spotless clean. They have good equipment and they just added more machines. The membership fee can't be beat. They could use more weights as far as plates. The gym itself is nice but when Covid hit they showed their true colors! I stopped going in February 2020 but kept my membership to support them. In June I realized that the pandemic would go on for a long time so I called to cancel my membership. Nobody answered. I went to my local gym here in Pompano and on the door was a note that YouFit was closed due to not paying their rent. That made it impossible to cancel my membership in person and honestly I was glad. What kind of business would require in person cancellation in a pandemic..? I emailed my cancellation and stopped payments after having been a member since September 2013. I thought that was it. Here in February 2021 YouFit start calling me and telling me that my membership has been sent to collection! I told them I had cancelled and have the email to prove it. They did not care. So demanding an in-person cancellation during a pandemic and then not being open because they can't pay their rent - and still sending an almost 7 years member to collection... Jeanette in Pompano really pulled a fast one on me. My hubby and I were new to the area and visited the gym. I talked to her one day and explained that I would like a few training sessions to get back into my comfort zone with the machines. She told me there was a special going on-- pay for 4 sessions get 6. I thought that was fine for my needs so I signed a piece of paper with my cc info on it. Had my sessions- they were ok. Went home to Maine for the summer after freezing our membership for three months. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $180 on my cc. Immediately texted Jeanette. Oh, no prob. she said. I will talk to my manager. (I HAVE all the texts) Nothing. Next month, BOOM another $180. What???? Texted her again. Nothing. Long sordid slimy story short, she signed me for continuing sessions for $180 a month! After all my texts and five months of arguing they are saying I DID sign up for multiple sessions and had to cancel in writing. "OH, you froze the membership but not the training," Jeanette says. HMMM, how can I train from Maine you idiots? YET, Jeanette never cancelled my acct all those months when I asked her to. Lying conniving people. Now "There is nothing we can do," they say. I've been training at the Pompano Bch location 3555 N Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach, FL, 33064 for at least 5 years. We are dual residents of FL and NY. Just returned and re-upped my membership for my stay this winter..... I was very quick to discover the total lack of courtesy and respect from both other members and the gym mgmt in regard to stripping plates from equipt. after use. I've seen people load 2-4 45's on a bar or machine, do their sets...and gleefully just walk away leaving it for the next poor bastard to strip it down, many of whom are Seniors and Women. Equally as rude, are the members who sit on a machine for 15-20mins betw/ sets...starring at their cell phones...while others are waiting. Seriously, can you be any more oblivious to other people around you? The mgmt needs to address this situation. My gym in NY is very strict about not unloading plates when finished...and levies a $50 fine automatically to anyone they catch in violation. I can say if the situ doesn't improve...this will be my last year at YF. read more

I've visited this gym three times in the past month. The first time I came to take the Saturday morning class and the instructor didn't show. Luckily, the GX manager showed up to teach the class 30 minutes late once she found out about the no show instructor. The second time I went on a Wednesday for the sculpt class with Jill. She is a great instructor and keeps the class motivated. The class is a mix of weights and cardio. Core work is also built in to the workout. I went with a friend who is a member, so I was allowed in for free as her guest. They make you checkin and get a receipt to give to the instructor. All the weights, steps, and mats are brand new. The next week for the third time I went on a Wednesday for Jill's class with my member friend. This time I was told I had to pay $5 to take the class. Even as a guest trying the gym without a member, they charge you $5. I thought that was a little strange if they are trying to attract new members. They should let you try the class/gym for free. Since we were not aware of the $5 charge, they let me take the class for free as a member's guest, however in the future I would need to pay $5. I will not be joining this gym because they don't offer enough classes like LA fitness or 24 hour fitness. read more

I finally made the decision to cancel, went in, paid the $10 cancellation fee, spoke to Angela - federal Highway pompano beach Florida. I was told directly that a refund would be issued once it got to corporate for the months they were closed. Nothing credited to my credit card, so I then called. I was told by Pompano to send an email that there is no corporate number to call. Sent an email twice and zero response. Finally, another store in Tampa told me that there is no "corporate" and that we will never get a refund and never get a response from anyone. The worst kind of shady business ever. Stay away. You get what you pay for. It's decent for the price...just hard to get a machine, especially at the one on Pines and Hiatus bc it's always packed! The sauna is a nice added touch and the kids club is a big bonus for ppl who need that service. Think twice before you join YouFit. I DO NOT recommend this gym. My husband and I each signed up for a training package, within three days my husband had a stroke. I contacted the gym and the trainer right away. This was December 5, 2019. I have contacted the gym manager several times and was told that they do handle the refunds to contact their corporate offices by email. The corporate office can't be reached by phone. I have sent several emails to multiple people and I'm still waiting for a reply. I have been trying to reach them for four month now. My next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. THINK TWICE before signing up with YouFit. I've moved out of state, so I called to stop the recurring payments, they tell me I have to come in and cancel the membership and then pay a $10 fee for processing. Processing a cancellation costs you money, just curious how exactly. Second, why do I have to come in to cancel my membership, I am out of state now. What do I do, book a flight to Florida in order to cancel? The front desk girls response was do you have a friend or family member that can go in and cancel, well if it doesn't have to be me in person then why can't I just cancel over the phone??? Since the new manager, Baz Ricardo, has assumed control of this YouFit Club, there have even manifest improvements. Starting with the staff, he's eliminated those who had no knowledge of the simplest tasks (like explaining the costs to join), and replaced them with friendly helpful staff, like Ricardo. There is a noted difference in the state of equipment, both in running properly (actually finding the treadmills working) , and the equipment Clean (a really great, hardworking janitor). Basic gym, great for the price. Been a member for about 5 yrs. There has recently been a reluctance to replace damaged plates or fix equipment in a timely manner. I've told the employees my complaints to no avail. I know am leaving a review, these seem to produce better results. Attached is a picture of a weight that I've personally removed from the rack several times, but for some reason keeps getting back in rotation. This is dangerous. I love this Youfit location. The staff is so great. They have some really amazing fitness instructors for their classes. I'm pretty picky, I like to work hard so I won't go to a class that doesn't push me. Jenny and Adam are AMAZING!!!! Adam's total sculpt and turbo kick are classes I go to every week. He's so encouraging and pushes me to work my hardest. I highly recommend all of his classes! I have started training with Cat and found her to be great. She listens to what I want to accomplish and has helped me push past my goals. Just $20 a month for their Lime membership which includes: bringing a friend anytime, access to all classes & access to every location. Youfit is a no brainer. Its simple, clean and straight forward. I have never had to wait to use equipment and would encourage everyone to go to a class at least once! read more

The new manager and new team members are much friendlier/more helpful, the establishment is cleaner, and they're quickly improving the quality of the equipment. The gym is on the low end of gyms. When I joined a few weeks ago half of their treadmills were out of service for a few weeks. The soap dispenser in the men's bathroom was out of soap for an entire week The TV monitors on the treadmills have a fuzzy picture which makes it almost impossible to watch. The screens have been like that for years ( I was a member there a few years ago) As to the front desk staff: the old lady with short hair that works the morning shifts is as nasty as they come. She has a bad attitude and makes you feel extremely unwelcome when you arrive. I have addressed this with the GM but nothing changed. She has no business being in a customer service job. Youfit: Do yourself a favor and place her in the back with no customer contact. For a few dollars more join the new LA Fitness up the street. That's what I did. So I want to start off my review by saying that I started with my membership with the intent of only going to classes -- I had no interest in weight training since I didn't think I would benefit from it (my goal was weight loss). I ended up going in for the free assessment because Beth was just too sweet over the phone and she sold me on trying it. I got assigned to a different trainer for the assessment and ended up purchasing what I thought was a 1x a week training membership with him (I am gullible and naive and super easy to sell to lmao) and just thought "it's ok if I don't like it...I'll just be out a couple of hundred dollars..." and then I realized I somehow signed up for 3x a week?!?! And didn't use it for an entire month?!!? So I got super mad and decided to petty use the remainder 2 months and cancel both my training and gym membership after it. I honestly didn't go for the first month because I wasn't too won over by the trainer and I was stuck with him. It's ok. But, let me freaking tell you. I had the most amazing luck because he ended up transferring me to Cat, another trainer! I know this story is super long but bear with me. I went from not even calling to say I wont make it to the gym, not even SCHEDULING with the trainer, to texting Cat and actually getting excited to go to the gym three times a week. I am a person who will say yes to being a lazy donut eating girl and who will say no to walking/exercising/moving. I started off (and still am) pretty bad at fitness but now I actually enjoy going, feel myself improving and getting a little bit stronger, and my confidence has actually started improving. I have only been actively going for almost a month now, and honestly it is way too early to see actual results but I really am starting to feel them. Cat is the perfect trainer for you if you work better with females. She talks to you, converses with you, and gets to know you all while making sure you are on point with your form. She's so sweet and very understanding of people's limits. I never feel bad when I am unable to do an exercise or if I am doing it wrong around her. She is extremely sensitive to her clients' health, physical limitations, and needs, all while still being stern and making sure you aren't being lazy and cheating on your form. I am still not as passionate about fitness as I'd like to be...and I still haven't been able to get myself to go unless I have an appointment, but it's seriously a huge improvement from not going at all. I actually think I want to continue my personal training pass the 3 month requirement when signing up. If you are looking to start resistance training please please please talk to Cat!!! Sorry this was so long I just really am so happy with her. She is awesome. The classes are good too. This could be a great gym and is definitely worth the money, but it could use some work. PROS: - The price is ridiculously great -- $10 a month for this location only & $20 for all YouFit locations. You can't beat that anywhere. - The staff is friendly and nice -- a million times better than the nearby L.A. Fitness locations. - They keep the place very clean, almost to a fault. They're always mopping, dusting, or cleaning the equipment. This can get annoying when you want to use a piece of equipment and they're busy cleaning it. - It's not crowded, especially compared to the two nearby L.A. Fitness locations. - It's got a diverse crowd -- everything thing from 80-year-old retirees to muscleheads to teenagers. I like that, but others may want a more focused crowd. CONS: - Usually the A/C is great but it has failed twice since I joined. Both times they took a week to fix it. The gym was basically unusable during those weeks. That's not acceptable. - The locker rooms (at least the men's) suck. They have rows of lockers where they don't have benches installed nearby. The two tiny benches they have are always being used. How much would installing a couple new benches in the locker room cost? - The weight-lifting equipment is sub-par. The stuff at my old gym was significantly better. At least YouFit does a good job of maintaining their stuff. - The parking lot floods after rain storms. A couple times, I went into the gym while it was sunny and had to wade through deep puddles to get to my car caused by a downpour that started during my workout. read more

No fluff and stuff here but very clean and respectful staff and patrons. Friendly team always greets you as you walk in and if you have a question or a need they immediately come out from behind the desk and get you support. The bathroom/lockers are spotless and at least every 2-3 visits I find someone in there cleaning or checking to see that everything is fine. As Youfit goes they're not a high-end fitness center with many bells and whistles but all I need is a clean respectful place to sweat.
