My son is in HONORs PROGRAM so being from private school to public school, and as a busy parent , I ask help from this center to guide my son in his academic however the gap between what is promised and what is delivered is significant. If your child needs consistent, reliable academic support, this is not the place. You may end up spending a substantial amount of money with little to no meaningful results.

Ms. Orozco was so patient, warm, and encouraging that she made him feel comfortable right away. Over time, we watched him slowly open up, and before long he was actually excited to go to school. He would come home talking about her and everything he was learning, and it was such a joy to see how much confidence she helped him build. She truly helped him break out of his shell, and we are amazed by how much he learned this year. Ms. Orozco is truly an exceptional teacher. My daughter had Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Tan as she entered 2nd grade, and she was also a little shy because she didn't know anyone. They were so kind and supportive and really encouraged her to make new friends and feel like she belonged. We saw such wonderful growth in her throughout the year, both emotionally and academically, and that means so much to us as parents. It was clear that they truly care about their students and want to see them succeed. We also want to thank the front office staff, who were always great and made communication easy throughout the year. They were helpful, welcoming, and always pleasant to work with. The principal is also very attentive and approachable, which made us feel even more confident in the school. I want to start by saying how much I loved Ms. Rolon and Mrs. Calabrese. They were always so welcoming and genuine. My daughter started in July, feeling confident this was the right fit. However, that quickly changed. My daughter's teacher (who I will leave unnamed) right off the bat, my husband and I felt didn't like my daughter, and my daughter felt it. High-strung energy and frantic energy are not good for young ones who are nervous to start. Not welcoming, and immediately made her out to be a "BAD" kid. I think it ruined her first preschool experience. Backing up, my daughter was born 4 months before the pandemic broke out and had never been in daycare or school, which was explained when we enrolled her. I was very transparent about everything when touring and signing up. Mrs. Calabrese, who gave us a tour, and who sold us. She was absolutely wonderful & genuine. Mrs. Calabrese left shortly after my daughter started so we relied on some of the staff and teachers. Which didn't provide us with much comfort. I strongly believe if your child doesn't fit the mold of their concept of a perfect child, there will be red flags that they will not welcome you back, soon. Not every child is the same and they did nothing to help with my daughter's social integration troubles. Which by the way, is completely normal and even more so since she is a Covid baby. More and more I researched and spoke to other preschools, Covid babies are showing delays since the world stopped for 2 years. I am not making excuses for my child and will be the first one to admit she is strong-willed and determined. Those attributes are wonderful if channeled the right way. This school is not for your child if your child shows any type of out-of-the-mold behavior. The classroom was absolute chaos, my daughter's diaper was always dirty picking her up, the wrong clothing was sent home often, and never once did I hear anything positive about my daughter doing well. Furthermore, we got a week's notice that she wasn't welcome back the next month, we were told we should keep an eye on some behaviors & get her assessed as she might have something wrong with her. Since then I have gotten 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions from qualified individuals, and think this is ridiculous & untrue. You have no idea, how horrible this felt, and I hope was a true intention on their end but I doubt it. What really bothered me was on her last day, we walked in to put her lunch bag away in her cubby and her name was already taken down from her cubby. It broke my heart because it proved how much they wanted her gone. Luckily, my daughter isn't old enough to understand it, but if she were older that would have been really awful to explain. Now, we have found a fabulous preschool (with the same ratio btw), and my daughter has made a full 360. The teacher is patient, loves kids, and really wants them to do well. Every child is DIFFERENT! Elite is known to be a extreme form of a cram school similar to that of those in Asia, to instruct children to prepare for the SAT/ACT. It's a common thing everyday to walk into this place, you'll see portraits of very few kids smiling with a list of them getting incredibly high scores, in which also show which school they are attending now, and slogans for success and information about ivy league schools. I get it, this is to show that they've had success educating kids and they're mighty fine proud of that, but let's be honest, it is a little demeaning for other students struggling to make ends meet. In fact, I've overheard a parent teacher conference with the headmaster of this place (I will not say the name for confidentiality), and believe me, I've never heard so much bad mouthing about the student behind his back, such as how he/she is going to fail school and is never going to go to a "good" (which in their level is a Ivy League) school and he'll end up getting a job after high school. In addition, when I had my child go here, the workload was just unbelievable; I don't know whose idea it was, but he/she practically made my child work 5-6 hours on SAT prep material instead of the same school work that takes my child to college (also, if he failed to bring it, he would be subjected to detention/push ups/"demerits"). What is really disturbing is that there are also video cameras in each room and monitored by the staff; I don't care if it there was a stabbing long time ago, it's pretty invasive. Speaking of colleges, these people also look down on students who have no intentions of attending either UC or Ivy Leagues, regardless of the reason. With all due respect, what I really think these people can try to improve on is their perception on reality and realize these students are just kids who are/aren't suited for the tremendous work load provided; does stuffing millions of questions and answers really help? Because I guarantee not every kid they see holds the 300 IQ they are dreaming about. Despite my tone, don't boycott or spit at the headmaster, because even I know these people are trying very hard to trickle one child to get into yale and princeton and it's really difficult to handle a bunch of kids (for the record, I was a tutor for a after school program and THAT was no easy job), especially for the headmaster, who has to deal with few troublemakers; but they should at least give a damn about those who won't make it to the big leagues or have troubles instead of berating them and casting them on the side so the vultures can pick them. Bottom line? Parents, send your children here if you truly fear that your children may not become the next CEO, doctor, lawyer, etc., because this place is the 911 for that emergency; I will not lie that these people will literally work their fingers to the bone to stuff gargantuan amounts of assignments to show to you they really mean business, and that they are probably even better than any SAT/ACT prep schools. However, be cautious, because if you know your child is already struggling with the workload he/she has from school, then plan on your own discretion.

I would have to ask about progress. The expectation we had was that my daughter was being helped in math and reading. Just for reference, there were times my daughter was allowed to enter Francisco's facility and walk right out with the new work. When I questioned her, she said it was okay. She said the tutors would review her work and let her know the following week how she did. We recently transferred to another Kumon facility closer to her new school. As soon as I met the owner of this facility, I knew Francisco ripped me off. This new facility utilizes an app to facilitate conversation between parents and staff. They also have regularly scheduled parent meetings to discuss the progress of the child. I never had one with Francisco. The new facility requires 30 minutes of one on one tutoring per subject. They require you to schedule a time to enter so that the facility has enough tutors on staff to meet the needs of the students. Francisco has a "drop in whenever" policy and I have seen his facility crammed with students with only a handful of tutors. Definitely not one-on-one tutoring. Sadly, now that we are about two weeks into our experience with the new facility, we have learned that Francisco and his staff didn't help my daughter as much as we expected. With the one-on-one tutoring, we have found that the Francisco's tutors allowed her to move on in a section without demonstrating mastery. It was nice getting those little certificates; however, they now mean nothing. I'll also add that this new facility charges the same amount but we got far more for our $$$. Lastly, I will add that Francisco tried to con me out of a whole month's tuition stating that Kumon requires that I pay for the whole month, even if I gave fair warning of our leaving in the middle of a month. I called Kumon HQ and the representative there said that it wasn't a policy of theirs and that each facility is independently owned and operated. I informed Francisco that he lied and that it wasn't Kumon's policy and that he was trying to squeeze more money out of me. He relented after being caught and I paid a prorated amount for the month. IF YOU THINK THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU, THINK AGAIN. I spent a lot of money here only to realize by going to another Kumon that there are better facilities. My daughter lost a whole year's worth of work and we are out $$$. This facility is a rip off.
