Very friendly staff. Was able to have Army Service Uniform pants and jacket pressed with all of the ribbons, badges, cord, etc. still on the jacket (and believe me I have a lot of bling!). One day turnaround. Very inexpensive. ***Update*** Three years later. They sewed rank on a patrol cap crooked. Used UCP gray hook tape backing to connect an OCP tab with unit insignia. If you have to come here, you are probably in the wrong. If someone refers you to this location for work: they either hate you, or are trolling (or mean the other alterations option across the street). To be fair, every business that makes uniform alterations that I have patronised in the area has been absolutely terrible -- including, but certainly not limited to, the on-post option: Stripes (http://www.yelp.com/biz/stripes-fort-lee) -- but, these guys take the cake. They not only did not clean my red teddy coat, but it is now very stiff. I will be taking it back tomorrow for them to fix. If I have to take it elsewhere they will pay for it. Nestled next to the Petersburg Battlefield National Park, this dry cleaner holds many memories for me. After being both a student and later permanent party military at Fort Lee, I found the crowd at Young's to be not only efficient, but also rather friendly. Amazingly enough, this dry cleaner served to not only be my miracle workers for ripped or dirty uniforms, last-minute alterations to the general's uniform (when I was an Aide), and even for light conversation after work when bored and being tired of living in the country. 10 years later, I came back to town and I was greeted like a prodigal son. Highly recommended; went above and beyond to meet condensed timeline. My new uniform delivery was extremely delayed due to FedEx sending all across the nation. I received my package (uniform) at lunch and went to Young's. I needed complete alterations for the new Pinks and Greens for graduation the following morning. I did have to pay a little extra for the troubles but it was very considerable given the inconvenience and super short suspense. Mrs. Young gave me a call later that evening to come and pick them up......and I was squared away for graduation the next day. I have been a customer for over 10 years and will continue to come back. Terrible place. The guy who owns this place is rude as fuck. Additionally the turn around times are very long and the work is iffy. They know how to press and clean. However do not assume if they put your ASU together it is to standard. When I got mine back things were visibly off. It looked like they had just thrown it haphazardly together with no care or effort. Try Suns across the street. Sad that there is only two dry cleaners near there. Maybe thats how they get away with sucking so bad. read more

Here's my experience and thought I should share. Good: Dry cleaning was quick and to good standard. Bad: so I had sewing done for my shoulder boards on the ASU. I picked it up and the sewing was too far apart and the rank had hard time fitting properly. I had older ranks so they are made different (they were already tracking). Not a problem, they fixed the problem and put on the rank. Picked up couple days later. Here's the fun part: purchased new rank, so now the spacing on the sewing needed to be further apart (rank kept slipping off). I take it in to get that done and also the sleeve insignia sewn on. A guy was working there; he kept telling me it's sewn right and that if I play with the rank it'll fall off. Just comes off as a rude guy but I stayed professional. I kept telling him "the lady here who sew it, made the spacing to accommodate my old rank and not this new one. She said when I get the new rank that she'll sew it back." He kept saying its right. Dunno if he didn't comprehend or what. So I drop it off to get the sleeve sewn. Driving back home I turned around and picked back up my uniform (had an intuition, or uncomfy feeling), so I told him "can I pick up back the uniform please, I'll just take it on base." I took my uniform on base. I explain to the girl at the desk what I want done. She asks "are the holes okay?" WHAT HOLES?? Good gracious. When they had adjust the stitching, they did a sloppy job and cut two holes on my uniform in the shoulder area with their little scissors I'm certain. On top of that, thick thread was left there. I didn't notice because the rank was covering it. I said eh whatever, the new rank will cover it (they're very small but noticeable up close). On top of that, post charged $6.50 less to sew the branch on the sleeves, so I'm sure it's even less for the shoulder sewing. So lesson learned. Stay away!! Go for just cleaning. I've been at Fort Bragg for 12 years and never encountered something like this. Places can be pricier than others, but the sheer audacity, bad work, and unprofessionalism to customers is bad business. Thumbs down! read more

DO NOT LET THEM DO YOUR ALTERATIONS! I took a simple long dress there to get the length hemmed and when i went to pick it up they charged me $89.50! I'm 5ft even so my entire adult life i've had to have dresses hemmed and i've never been charged even close to that. And it's a simple dress that had the base layer and a sheer layer over it, that's it. The most I ever paid for a dress to get hemmed before was $40 and that was my big poofy 10 layered wedding dress. My husband's a marine so we've lived all over the country and i've never been charged so much for a simple dress hem. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE, these people are crooks. read more

Prices are crazy. They get the job done but we don't get paid enough to have service stripes put on for $9/pair. That's egregious and breaking the bank. horrible dry cleaning - asked for heavy starch, and it doesnt seem starched at all. the old lady and younger guy was extremely rude. if they did a great job on my acus then id limited my conversation, but you cannot provide a horrible and be rude. the lady asked me for the last four of my cellphone, i told her... she couldn't find it; she asked again, i told her - the guy yelled from the back "just give her the last four of your cellphone number, gosh how do you not know your phone number!!" i am literally pointing at my uniform and i asked what thr last four was... she yelled my last four of my social. wtf? never again!!! read more

So I paid this Joker to do some alterations to my dress uniform, dry cleaning, and put my ribbons back on. He gave me back my uniform with my dress shirt in front of my jacket so I could not see the awards. When I move the shirt I could clearly see that all the measurements were off on my jacket. He gave me attitude when I told him it was wrong and told me that there was no exact measurement. Then he got even more mad when I told him that the measurements are in regulatory guidance and if he's going to offer the service then he needs to give people what they paid for. I gave him back the jacket and told him we'll try it again on Monday. On monday, I picked it up with the measurements correct and all of the alterations were on point. Make sure you check the work here and don't just walk out assuming you got what you paid for. Had I not checked, they would have swindled me. I won't go back there and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

1 star for convenience factor right by Ft. Lee. This place markets itself as a one stop shop for drycleaning, alterations, and they say they'll even put your awards on your uniform for you. Unfortunately, after several visits for myself and others that I know who dropped off their uniforms here, they are disorganized and surprisingly clueless about how the uniform is supposed to be put together. Anyone who has put together their own ASUs knows there are some very precise measurements one must abide by. When I received my uniform, it looked like a kindergartner pinned the awards and ribbons on--everything was crooked and asymmetrical. When I measured it, my doubts about whether they'd even taken the time to try and follow the regulations were confirmed. You'll end up paying Mike to put your awards on, but he'll just lose your ribbons, etc, and eyeball the placement with no measuring. And, you'll end up doing it yourself and being out $25, so do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. I wish I could recommend a place that does uniforms properly, but until then, I'll be putting mine together by myself. read more

I found this place based off high recommendation on post. I turned my uniform in for a service stripe and a press and clean by the end of the week. When my chain of command informed me I would need the uniform the next day, they already had my stitching sewed and uniformed pressed. Highly recommended Young's to do business with. The Worst possible place. I had my uniforms dry cleaned and they came out worse than when I brought them in. The other problem is extremely poor customer service. I brought in something to get sewn real fast. Instead of either doing it or explaining it would take some time I was met with "I can't do it now." Really? It would have taken 2 minutes.
