Horrible customer service and wildly overpriced. Everything here is at a minimum 20% more than any other store in the area. The bigger concern is the atrocious customer service. I placed an order online and received a confirmation email, but never a "ready for pick up email". So I called and spoke with an employee who confirmed that they had the bottle and it was set aside for me. The next day when I came in to pick it up, the person behind the counter couldn't find it. So he asked the owner who very loudly shouted from below the stairs that they don't have it and that the order was cancelled. In addition to being told it was available, I never received a cancellation email. I told that owner that I spoke with a person yesterday and he said "The guy doesn't know anything." Well that's an indictment on you as an owner and your inability to communicate with your staff. I wasn't given an apology or anything. I had a very pleasant experience over the phone, especially services provided by Mr Andrew. He was very understanding, helpful and gave excellent customer service. I would have bought more products if I was not in hurry for the delivery. Because of His services I will visit and buy at this store again. Beware the bait and switch! This store has a club membership where members pay an exorbitant membership fee for the privilege of then paying retail prices for products that you would pay everywhere else. Non-club members pay a premium (15% in my case), though the club price is the price advertised on the shelves. You are not made aware of the mark up until you get to the register. I will never walk in that store again let alone buy anything from those hocus pocus marketers. Particularly given that Best Wine & Spirit on E. Shore Rd. is so close by. Though this isn't the closest liquor store to my parents' house, it is most certainly the best one in the area! My dad has been coming here for over 15 years, he's a regular, they know him well. Young's offers a great selection of international wines and liquors. It's big so there's a lot of diversity and SO MANY OPTIONS! The employees are always friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable as well. The best perk of coming to Young's, aside from the rewards card, is every Saturday they have a wine tasting. Some weeks it's a smaller selection of wines and vendors, others it's much bigger and every so often they throw in some cheese and crackers to nosh on while you sip! They also have a wide selection of California and South American wines which is really convenient. I been coming to this store for a few months. Parking can be difficult on weekends, very limited. Eveey Fri and Sat, theu have tastings. Real good way to taste before buying. I believe, Joe is a sommelier. Extremely knowledgeable of wines. I walked in looking for a n Italian Merlot, and somehow he managed to convince me to get 7 bottles, $225 later. Great salesman and you can understand and see that he is informative, attentive and very down to earth. If you come looking for a bargain, this is not really the place. This is a very friendly well run store located in Manhasset. There is street parking or a shared parking lot available. You have pay about .50 to park in the lot. This is the largest wine liquor store that I have seen in Nassau County. The store has two large rooms. Behind the register, they have their mini bottles of liquor. In the front left hand side of the store, they have a decent liquor/ liquor selection. The also keep their chilled white wines and champagne in the front section of the store. In the back room the feature lots of wine in alphabetic order, separated by country. I typically come here for their wine. They have a large selection, at every price point. I've seen something as low as $10. (for a large bottle) and as high as $750. (for a litter bottle) The also have a small section of the small wine bottle, (the bottles that our about 3 glasses) There $$$ very expensive wines ($250.+) are located in a locked case. There is also a bottle of vodka that they keep locked in a case for over $2,000 dollars. It is a really cool looking bottle. A very big plus about this store is their wine tastings. They have wine tasting every Saturday. The staff are the ones that run their wine tastings. They typically feature about 3 whites and 6 reds at a tasting. Sometimes, the bring an outside vendor to have a tasting for Champagne or Liquor. The staff are very opinionated and knowledge about wine. There is absolutely zero pressure to buy at the tastings. There is not judgment, if you taste all of the wines, and do not end up buying anything. The tastings are always a nice event to go to, because there is a regular crowd that come to the tastings, and everyone has a good time. Two times a year, Young's has an extra special tastings, with more than 30 different wines and lots of snacks to go with it... I think it's in the Spring and the Fall. If you are overwhelmed by the vast selection and need a suggestion, anyone on the wine side can do that easily for you. Again no pressure. You can be added to the store's email list. They will not overwhelm you with bs emails. The will send you info for the weekly tasting, and anything promotional that is going on n the store. The cashiers are very friendly. If you are buying a gift for someone, they will gift wrap it for you, free of charge. Honestly, this is a win win one stop liquor wine store. I found this store through wine-searcher.com after looking for a specific spirit. Instead of ordering online, I called the store today at 2:06 pacific time to verify that they could ship out of state (to California) and also to see how I could get the club price instead of the regular price. The man on the phone said yes and he could take the order directly. After providing my order I gave him my Credit card and shipping information, as well as an email address where he could send the receipt and shipping information. He said it would ship today. Instead of getting a pending charge on my credit card for this purchase, a pending charge appeared for a dating website approximately 3 1/2 hours later. Amex flagged the charge immediately and is sending a new card. Coincidence? Unlikely. I only use this specific card for intermittent purchases and I have not provided the number for somebody in months. Beware of this store if you don't want a fraudulent transaction. I'll be happy to retract this review and give a 5 star review if magically my order shows up and get billed appropriately.....but Amex said no attempt was made for this purchase and the same number of bottles in stock of the spirit remains on their website. read more

I was visiting family in the neighborhood for the holidays and happened upon a big wine shop. This place was huge and had all kinds of wines and liquors. All I wanted was 6 bottles, however they had a salesman who was very passionate about wine, and I wound up leaving with 12 bottles. His name was Brett (I remembered him, since my nephew's name is Brett). He was very knowledgeable, asked good questions and recommended some beauties that went great with our holiday dinner. I was buying holiday gifts at Young's Wines. What a ltremendous selection. The new owners have done a great job. The salesman I had was extremely helpful. At first I thought this was going to be very hard, given their huge selection of wines, however Brett made it so easy for me to buy the many gifts I had to get. I went in as a newcomer and asked for the discount that they offer on their web site and was told, "no" by some woman with fuzzy blonde hair. I promptly gave myself a discount by taking a couple of bottles off of my order. They lost over $50 in revenue off of that transaction. Although the one guy who helped me pick wine seemed knowledgeable, I was quite surprised that he did not offer to help me up to the counter with 8 bottles of wine. I won't be back. One of their salesmen, a red headed guy with a beard, helped me choose my wines. He was great - suggesting new wines I might like based on what was already in my shopping cart.
