    Lobster roll - $18
    Leslie L.

Came for lunch on a Saturday - And discovered a Time Machine!! This place is literally small shed with a refrigerated case for very fresh-looking seafood, and also delicious Lobster Rolls. What's up with the Time Machine u ask? Well, it's the throwback prices - as of May 2023, lobster roll was $18, and a bowl of piping hot clam chowder was $6. (**Cash only) Lobster roll was served on a top split bun (not toasted), dressed in mayo. No celery, onions or other bits (my preferred type). Very generous helping, plenty of chunks of lobster meat throughout. Carry out, or eat on the edge of the marina, or in the picnic tables in the parking lot.

One of the best lobster rolls on the Cape. Soup and Cole slaw are also really good. The lobster tank is always full with huge lobsters. Reasonable price. Right by the water so you can walk around and check out the boats. FYI- no bathroom.

Got some fresh cod from Young's Fish Market to make this delicious ceviche at home today! The lady at the store was super helpful. Just a heads up! They only take cash.

Enjoying lobster roll around corner at the beach.

I try to tell myself that everyone has different tastes, but I still can't understand how some reviewers are claiming that this is the 'BEST' Lobster Roll on the cape. Recently in town for a wedding, I came here as my very first stop off the highway, per a recommendation from a friend. First, there are no bathrooms. There's a porta-john around back for employees only, (don't bother asking, they won't let you use it). They'll tell you to use the public porta-johns around the corner (2 min walk, 10 second drive). The lobster roll was good, but I wouldn't claim it to be great. It is however cheap, $10.50 for a lobster roll compared w/ the $18 lobster roll at places elsewhere on the cape. Mostly shredded lobster meat (maybe from the legs?), some mayo on a top-split bun. No lettuce, no celery, not on a toasted bun. With no place to eat inside, there are a few benches out back (RIGHT next to that employee-only porta-john... Gross). My suggestion drive around the corner (also where the public bathrooms are), and grab a bench on the beach overlooking the bay. Overall good lobster roll if you're looking for something cheap & no-frills, just make sure you have cash. However personally I'd take the extra drive & pay the extra $$ to get a lobster roll at the Sesuit Harbor Cafe!

Best value lobster role on the Cape. $18 and delicious. Unassuming little shack with a small counter and other seafood treats available.

I ended up with a half dozen Wellfleet oysters, which were substantial (2 year olds?), fresh, and briny -- exactly what you want in a Wellfleet. The only downside: They came with a lot of shell bits in the brine. I get that these oysters are hard to shuck since they have those rough, irregular shells (a result of being buffeted by the rough waves in this area). But I can do a better job when I have my good shucking knife on me and I am far from an expert shucker. A Caribbean fish soup / stew was also quite enjoyable, though my impolite and poorly-brought-up progeny made gagging noises when I opened up the container of soup in the car. I guess he thought it smelled unpleasantly fishy. :) He did quite enjoy a creme brulee we found in a refrigerated case in the market, however. Pleasant outdoor seating; delicious-looking menu (some of which isn't as ridiculously overpriced as it is in much of the Cape); pristinely fresh seafood; and super nice staff. But I was a little surprised by how long it took for us to receive the soup, which presumably had already been prepared, when it wasn't busy at all. (I think it took about 15 minutes!)

The hot lobster roll meat portions weren't amazing, lots of claw, but again personal preference. The chowder was very good. It had great flavor and there was a lot in it (potato's, clams, leeks). It was a little less creamy than some NE chowders. Picnic tables where they give you a number and bring you your food, so good for kids, dogs, casual eating.

On our way up the Cape for a little lighthouse-hopping adventure, we made a lunchtime stop at Cibo,…read moreand wow--this place is the real Italian deal. The second I walked through the door, I knew we were in for something authentic. The air was filled with the unmistakable smell of fresh sauce, garlic, and quality ingredients. The vibe? Warm, casual, and confidently no-frills in the best way. When my boyfriend's mom asked for mayo and was kindly offered a side of house-made marinara instead, we knew we had struck Italian gold. I ordered the Caprese panini, and while I didn't love the bread at first glance, it surprised me--it was light enough to let the real stars shine: creamy, fresh mozzarella and that incredible homemade pesto. I actually finished the whole sandwich (a rare feat when most leave me full of nothing but bread). My boyfriend (and his parents) devoured their sandwiches without a word, leaving only a few crumbs and a slightly smug expression. We also split an arancini ball for just $5--and it was hefty. Flavorful and golden, though the cheese inside could've used a bit more melt inside. Still worth it, especially at that price. Cibo offers both made-to-order paninis and a full spread of pre-prepared Italian dishes that looked straight out of Nonna's kitchen. Think: lasagna, pastas, cold salads, and a take-and-bake section with house-made pasta and sauces. The gourmet coffee bar smelled like heaven and used fresh ingredients--no plastic creamer pods in sight. Even the dessert case looked like it had stories to tell. Aside from some Cape Cod chips and bottled Coke, everything here felt distinctly and proudly Italian. This is a spot that knows exactly what it is and does it well. 10/10 would detour for this place again.
