OMG. Some of the freshest seafood I've had in my life, and I have very high standards. Came here with my parents and my aunt and uncle--all of whom were over the age of 65 and have lived long enough to know the difference between quality fish and frozen fish. My mother has very high standards for fish--she only buys fresh farmed fish--no frozen fish nor farmed fish for her. She LOVEDDD the quality at Hatch's Fish Market. We got the scallops, clams, lobster, crabs, and white fish. When we got home we seasoned the fish with a little bit of salt, pepper and green onions--that's it! The fish was so tasty as is that it didn't need much else. The fish here was so good that I cancelled our reservation at a fancy seafood restaurant when we returned to Boston. My family was so impressed by the quality at Hatch's that they knew that fish anywhere else would be a major disappointment. My family and I were in Cape Cod for a few days for vacation. We visited several fish markets in the area, and Hatch's was, by far, the best fish market we visited during our stay in Cape Cod. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be back at Hatch's! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Hatch's Fish. Their fish is super fresh and of the best quality. The pieces are always cut / fileted perfectly and the staff is polite and extremely accommodating. I come to Wellfleet seasonally. Today bought corn and fruits here. When finished. I pointed to the trees next to the shack and went to show my daughter the Oak tree next to the shack. The blond lady was rude as hell to me. "Can I help you?" ... told me I had no business walking back there. "You want to see a tree?" That area is not for people. Sure to be polite to people who support your business. Next time I'll get my overpriced corn and imported fruit elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place for their seafood. They have a public parking lot in Wellfleet that guarantee's business. Prices and quality of other seafood vendors are better. read more

The first thing that crossed my mind when I walked into Hatche's was, "there's something's missing, what could it be?" Live Seafood? Check. Lobster tank? Check. Helpful staff? Check. Long line of customers? Check. A minute later, it hits me: There's not a hint of that fishy smell at all! Upon closer inspection, it was not surprising to see why: the countertops are constantly kept clean by the staff and the seafood selection is fresh and neatly sorted. We picked up an assortment of seafood that included swordfish, tuna, giant shrimps, equally giant scallops, bluefish (a local fish, we found out), and monkfish. These were so fresh that a simple seasoning of salt, pepper, and olive oil was all we needed for a great barbecue. Foodie is right, this is THE place to go for seafood! read more

We tried some cod and loved it. Scallops were also excellent. I would give 5 stars if it held up on a return visit. I typically don't give 5 for a one time visit as that could be unbalanced and misleading but this place deserves 5 stars based on the one visit. read more

The absolute best fish market ever. Buy all the fish... all of it! We had smoked salmon, smoked bluefish and smoked sea scallops, all were to die for! We also had the fresh salmon, bluefish, monkfish, swordfish and stripped bass. It was the best fish ever, even the non local swordfish was the best we have ever gotten. They were cutting the fillet to order, just amazing. I only wish they were closer to where we live! read more

I bought little neck clams and some produce here. They were excellent, and the young staff was very nice about telling me how to cook them when I asked (I did notice a sign behind the counter stating "First two questions, free. Additional questions one dollar. Recipes require an appointment" so I kept my questions short. Ha!) Good selection of produce, I felt like I was in a farm stand even though most of the produce wasn't local (probably because it was still early in the season). Great local fish market with the volume you like to see when buying fish and seafood. I stopped here thanks to Yelpers to pickup lobsters for a family dinner while staying in Truro over Memorial Day Weekend. Thanks to those that have served our country you can stop here and get some great, sweet lobsters to enjoy beachside in peace! Helpful staff and a great product. Initially this place is tricky to find. It on the opposite side of the street of all of the other stores in this seciton of town. There is a little driveway with a small white sign on the right hand side of a inn. Pull into this driveway and the place is about 500 feet back on your left. read more

Incredible place. After agonizing about not having a cooler so that I could buy everything, I settled on Smoked Bluefish pate & a hunk of Smoked Salmon. The lovely lady behind the counter even wrapped our purchase with a plastic bag of ice so that it would remain chilled for the ride back to Dennis. This store could not get better! Everyting in the case was gorgeous & so fresh! I wish we lived closer so that I could have tried every last fish, shrimp, & oyster! Cannot wait to go back! read more

My brother had come upon Hatch's his previous visit on his way to Provincetown. Looking for oysters and cherrystones he was pleasantly surprised that the guys at Hatch's would shuck them for u right there and could enjoy them right away. That's why we went back fans very fresh or some yummy Wellfleet oysters and huge cherrystones. We sat outside an ate 2 dozen each. Amazing. The shellfish and fish for sale looked super fresh and beautiful. We highly recommend hatch's. Enjoy! read more

If you are down the Cape, and need some fish, short of needling some local fisherman, you're not going to find better quality, or better prices than what they have available at Hatch's. On Labor Day weekend, while Mac's was charging 9.99 for lobster, we made away with a steal at about 7 bucks per pound. If huge diver scallops are your thing, they have those too at a fair price. Not into the huge ones? I went back a couple days later and they had the plump, gumball-sized day boat scallops, sweet as can be. Seeing as how this is a fish market, I recommend the stripers that they get out of Chatham: again fair price and perfect for the grill. Wait, there's more. How about some beautiful littlenecks, steamed with some white wine with a little chourico for flavor. All local, all day. Oh, and there are steamers too. But Hatch's even has a little bit more to offer. They have delicious smoked seafood, which I think they do on premise. We also went home on two occasions with their smoked blue fish, a fish notorious for being a bit too oily, but perfectly suited to smoking. They also had smoked scallops which I had never seen before, but were delicious - nice smoke on the outside and the sweetness of the scallop preserved inside. After all your shopping, you'll still have a chance to grab some beautiful local produce at the stand attached to the outside of the building. Some of the items they have now? Great local turnips, beautiful tomatoes, and some pretty green beans. Take a ride to downtown Wellfleet and grab some nice seafood from Hatch's. read more

Every few years I come out to Cape Cod with my sister, brother in law and kids. Hanging out with the family is overall very cool but the best part is... The RIDICULOUS SEAFOOD available here! Hatch's Fish and Vegetable market is 1. supporting LOCALS and 2. SEASONAL... so everything is incredibly fresh. They do run out of stuff. Around here, have LOTS of LOBSTAH, but some of the best they have are DIVER and IN SHELL scallops as well as house smoked scallops, blue fish (quick "cure" in sugar, salt and gin helps to kill that oily/ fishy flavor) and... SWORDFISH! I'm a huge fan of. Locally caught and incredible. Making a return this summer and cannot wait to get cooking with these AMAZING ingredients! read more

We love Hatch's - earlier in the week we bought fabulous cod for a dinner at home. It was so delicious, extremely fresh! Last night Hatch's was instrumental in helping us host a great party. We bought large pieces of salmon we poached and served with a lemon creme fraiche sauce. The fish was just freshly caught and prepared by our specifications. We also had a wonderful raw bar serving Hatch's delicious fresh oysters. We asked for Hatch's to send someone to shuck for us. Ellie came and kept everyone happy by keeping the oyster platter full!!! My favorite place to buy fish in Wellfleet! The fish is fresh, fresh, fresh! Everything is labeled as to where it was caught (almost all local). They have there own smoker and make smoked scallops that are so divine--like candy. Also, they give away lobster bodies for free--perfect for making a rich fish stock!
