It is located on a very peaceful country road with cows grazing next it and there is a structure on the property that likely doubles as a church or school. The cemetery itself is split in half with the school house sitting in between. There is a Texas historical sign pictured in this review that is very informative. There are some headstones from the 1800s but the majority appear to be from the 20th century. The cemetery has the largest number of Woodmen of the world markers that I've seen located in one place. However, as the historical sign says, there was a Woodmen of the world lodge at this location. This appears to still be an active cemetery as there was a fresh grave from May 2022 on one side and a half a dozen or so on the opposite side. There also sits close to an acre of vacant land next to the property which appears to be dedicated towards future interments. Definitely a peaceful and pleasant place for your forever home.

There are hundreds of graves sitting on this acreage. Despite the fact that the grounds are mowed, many of the gravesites are in disarray with crooked and fallen over headstones. Another aspect of this place is the large number of handmade concrete markers with handwriting which were very inexpensive to make. For the most part the cemetery is fairly well ordered but there is some randomness to it as well as far as how the graves are arranged. This may still be an active cemetery, although the newest interment I could find was from 2020. The photos included in the review tell the rest.

There are about four graves just a few feet from Beaver Road and a few more fenced in headstones are located another 200 feet beyond them. The graves within the fenced in area are from the early 20th century. All but 6 of the graves have since toppled over. This is most likely another graveyard of African descent due to all of the African white irises planted in the area. The fenced in graves located out of view from the road date from the late 1800s to around 1930. It would be great if this cemetery could be reclaimed from the ravages of nature and it's headstones restored to the original positions. Hopefully the photos below might inspire that endeavor.

This cemetery sits several miles outside the Manor city limits. It's one of those "in the middle of…read morenowhere" cemeteries surrounded on all sides by the quiet Texas countryside. It's fairly small, sitting on about 2 acres more or less. This is still an active cemetery with some recent interments. There are many of the newer headstones depicting the photos of those interred. As a result, it would be logical to assume this is primarily an African-American cemetery. Many of the older markers are either toppled or in some state of disrepair. The cemetery has a lot of randomness to it according to how the graves are laid out. Most of the graves are made of granite, but there are some from the early 20th century cast in concrete, a cheaper material. The oldest grave I could find was from 1897. The one predominant name I found here was the name Morrow. If you're looking for a peaceful place in the country to make your forever home, this would be a good choice.

It attracts tourists with its famous barbecue and historical downtown retail area. It also boasts of quite a number of spacious, well-maintained parks within its boundaries along with some historical cemeteries. Yes, you'll find the big box retailers along Highway 290 but the old downtown area is worth exploring. One thing I was surprised not to see was a Texas historical sign posted by the cemetery with some historical information. However, I did spot a post that was sheared off which may well have had a historical sign but, has since been removed by vandals. There is a Texas historical sign on the opposite side of the road from the entrance, however it refers to a school that is no longer at that location. Judging by many of the names on the grave stones, it certainly appears that many of those buried here are of Swedish descent. I did spot one grave that represented a 19 century trade union which I've seen at other graveyards in the Austin and Manor area. Many of the graves are from the early 20th century, but two were from 2018. This picturesque cemetery seems to still have plenty of room for future residents. So if you're looking for a peaceful resting place away from the city, this might be a good choice. I decided to take extra pictures since there was no historical sign.

This small cemetery is pretty much located in the middle of nowhere and completely surrounded by…read morecornfields. It's basically just 50 x 100', but there's still enough space to bury at least a dozen or more. This cemetery is several miles north east of Manor and many of the people buried here were from the early Swedish, German and Danish settlers of the small town of Kimbro. There appears to be about 50 to 60 people buried here. Most of the graves are fromthe early to mid 20th century and the newest occupant was laid to rest here in 2013. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the graveyard itself has been well-maintained over time. There's not a whole lot more to say about this spot so I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
