The owner was one of the first companies to respond and provide me with a quote. The quote was fair. It was not my least expensive quote, but it was not my most expensive quote either. What impressed me was his follow-up and ease to work with. He was flexible while a arranged the appointment with the repair shop and once that was done Mater's came and picked up the truck and got it to the repair facility. I think what I was most impressed about was that they showed up when the said they would. He gave me a 1 hour window of when the driver would arrive and they were there at the beginning of the one hour window. I would definitely trust them and recommend them if you are looking for a reliable company that says and does what they say the will do!

I have to wonder if this guy is serious…read more I had called him last week about a "ticking" noise under one of my valve covers on a very rare, 1969 Oldsmobile. I specifically asked if he could work on these type of motors and he responded he could. Yesterday about 1:30PM I received a text he planned on coming to my home at 3:00PM. I called him and we talked a little more, and I decided to let him come out and "diagnose" the issue. This included a compression check on the cylinders for $125.00. He arrived on-time...texted me...and left 3 minutes later to go to the bathroom. He went all the way to Haskell and I-75 when there was an Exxon station 1/4 of a mile away. He finally arrived at 3:50. To start, he was pretty rude. He looked under the hood and said, "You're missing hold-down brackets on your valve covers." He went on to state he had a 1990 Chevy and this was how he knew he was correct. There were never "hold-down" brackets on a 1969 Oldsmobile. He then proceeded to tell me I had an oil leak, which was dried oil. He then asked for a $125.00 cash payment, before running a compression check. He never told me he only accepted cash. He said, "You didn't ask." I am not a mind reader. Cash is fine if I know this is the accepted and only form of payment. Needless to say, I sent him on this way. I would avoid someone like this at all costs. Unprofessional every step of the way.

I called multiple other companies and no one else was available quickly or at all (this was a Sunday night). I called his service - City Wide Towing - and immediately got ahold of Rick. Rick was polite, professional, and got to me in ten minutes. His tow rate the lowest of the couple options I had (and between the two, he was the only one free to meet me ASAP). I thought my car was needing to be towed (it had failed during the multiple attempts to jump it with jumper cables), so the only conclusion I could think of was a dead battery. When Rick arrived, I was in an upset and nervous state after being by myself on the side of the road, with night time approaching, and after having fumbled through other failed options. Rick was extremely reassuring and helpful - he was patient with me as I explained my situation, and he asked if he could attempt to jumpstart it himself. Voila! (My car battery is in a really weird place and very difficult to attach cables to). Even if my situation would have necessitated a tow, I still would have felt very comfortable working with Rick. Seemed professional at first when he had to tow my car…read more I was moving cross-country back on 7/29/17 and the moving company had used Steve's towing service to hold the car until the shipper arrived a week later. My car is not collector's grade by any means but was very low miles BMW e39 M5. Before giving my car to Steve he must have not paid attention to the fact that I had everything on video including the miles which was very low and the fact that the car was in excellent shape. I signed my papers and have electronic copies of all of the paper work. After 2 weeks I received my car at my destination and signed off on the papers only to find that the papers were forged because he had put 400 miles on my car. I figured no big deal and I was angry at the fact that he took my car for a joy ride and it happens when people bring their car in for service. However I was livid to find out that my front bumper cracked in his possession and also my exhaust clamps were all bent because my car is low. After investigation by the moving company, they paid out a settlement to have my car fixed which is all I really wanted. There was no denying that the damages were done given everything was documented on video and pictures with time stamps. I was unhappy that those were 400 unnecessary miles in a low mileage car (82K for a 2001). I would use caution with this company and look elsewhere.
