It has been hard to find therapy everywhere is either booked for few months or they don't take my insurance. thankfully I found Aristotles. I called here to make an appointment for in person therapy but they told me that they are fully booked for at least a month. However the front desk was very accommodating by offering me a sooner appointment via Telehealth for the time being. They also put me on their waitlist for in-person therapy. I have been talking to a therapist over the phone for about a month and I do feel like my anxiety has gotten a lot better. Just the other day someone from the front desk called me to inform me that there is an open spot for in person and asked if I was still interested in coming in person.

I ll be very honest because I rarely leave bad reviews anywhere…read more I ve been here on and off for 5 years now and no complaints about the therapists I have had. I ve learned to deal with some unprofessional s front desk in the past (young or inexperienced)but this time it really went on a different level. I ve called to make an appointment for a new therapist few weeks ago where I precisely ask if the one that I would have tried had some experience. I ve been told over the phone by this guy named ALDO , he is usually seats at the first corner of the desk, that absolutely yes, she was coming from another place and she had experience. (I did not ask him to disclose any infos about this person, only if she had experience as therapist ) and he reassured me that yes she did. Come to the appointment and the therapist just told me that this was her first job, fresh out of school. Now: It's not only the lie I ve been told but also the time I wasted, since I specifically made sure of that in my request. Otherwise I would have picked another therapist to begin with. I confronted ALDO and he denied. From then on, he keeps doesn't acknowledge me when I get there, he doesn't call the therapist when I get there, which is so unprofessional in many ways. Today I had my appointment at noon and he called the therapist at 12.15 to let her know I was there. That was confirmed by my therapist who said he never let her know that I was there at noon and she was waiting for me since I was her first appointment of the day. I recorded the conversation and time I got there (noon) and he said he told her (not true) After 15 minutes, while I was still there waiting,my therapist got his call for the first time. Its all documented so in case he wants to deny it again.(for personal purpose and protect myself) In a place where we should find peace we can't deal with this type of behavior. I believe that who responds to the reviews is the front desk itself so the reply doesn't really matter..only helps making people aware of the situation and person they might encounter at the front. I m trying to get in contact with Vaia (the owner) personally and the manager Sharon to see if this behavior can stop because it's ridiculous now, since I do go in once a week and love my therapist and I need to escalate this to them.

My original concern with this practice involved a billing and insurance dispute. However, what…read morehappened afterward is what prompted me to update and expand my review. In their public response to my review, the practice claimed that I berated staff, yelled at staff, and "used the f word several times at different office assistants." That allegation is completely false. I take accusations like that very seriously because they are attacks on a person's character. I have never spoken to their staff in the manner they described. If they have evidence supporting those claims, they should provide it. To date, none has been provided. What is particularly disappointing is that these statements came from a therapy practice. I would expect a counseling office to handle disagreements professionally and focus on facts rather than making public accusations about a former patient. Even after all of this, I am still seeking clear answers regarding the underlying billing and insurance issues. Instead of addressing those concerns, the practice chose to respond with allegations about my conduct that I know to be untrue. At this point, my concern is no longer limited to the billing dispute itself. It is the decision to publicly portray me as someone who verbally abuses office staff when that simply did not happen. Prospective patients can draw their own conclusions, but I believe people should know how this practice responds when a customer raises concerns. My experience has been disappointing, and I cannot recommend a business that responds to criticism by making accusations that it cannot substantiate.

The decision to come here was, without exaggeration, one of the best I have ever made, and I…read moresincerely believe that I owe my marriage, my family's stability, and my personal happiness to that decision. My husband and I have been married for eleven years, but a little over a year ago it had became apparent that our relationship had changed, and that our lines of communication were increasingly closed off amid the stresses and drudgery of our hectic work and family lives. My husband suggested, flippantly at first, that we "go to therapy" -- but two days later he came home from work with this phone number and a glowing recommendation from his dear friend. Neither of us is the "type" to seek out help, but I am relieved beyond words that, in that moment, we both knew that this was something we owed to ourselves, each other, and our two children. We saw our wonderful counselor a couple of times individually, and then over a period of several months as a couple, and we could not be more pleased with the level of insight, professionalism, and compassion that we experienced. I would urge anyone who is, perhaps, a little skeptical about the concept of couples' therapy (especially if things are not *that* bad) to maybe open up to the possibility and perhaps reach out to these guys. I am not usually someone with the time or inclination to leave lengthy (or any) online reviews of businesses, but the positive impact of this center on my psychological well-being and on my husband and our precious family has been profound.

Union is a joke. Antisemitism and homophobia are allowed to run rampant and hr and management do nothing about it. Some of the staff shouldn't be in this field and mistreat the guys. Management will not accommodate staff with disabilities and is not understanding about it. Management will admit to staff that they don't want to do paperwork so they'd rather demote someone who is a temporary group leader even after they did everything to inhibit someone from doing their job. There is rampant favoritism. Management will yell at one person for being on their phone but will ignore another. Good staff gets chased away and mistreated meanwhile bad staff are allowed to do whatever they want. When shut down happened due to covid I had emailed HR saying that. Couldn't come back to work due to having an autoimmune disease until it was safe and was told to come back when I feel better. Sorry but autoimmune diseases don't just go away. They stick around for the rest of your life. Management will also yell at you for doing something once but will let other people get away with things multiple times. We were constantly told that the guys could do whatever they wanted but we had to still write them up if they didn't want to do what everyone else was doing. My classroom was over crowded, eleven participants and 3 staff, shortly after reopening while my management knew I had a medical issue that put me at risk. I told them multiple times and nothing was done. Don't send your children here because they will not be taken care of. Don't work here for the sake of your mental health. When covid started I heard a staff act racist towards an Asian participant and everyone seemed ok with it. Management will also get involved in drama. If they hear something about you they will go to everyone but you

I'll admit it. I really needed to talk to a mental health professional for some issues from my past…read morethat were resurfacing and were affecting other areas of my life. I had never spoken with one before and didn't know what to expect. At first contact, I was told that my insurance would only cover the initial evaluation and would only partially cover any additional treatment. However, after speaking with Dr. Hernandez, he worked some kind of magic and managed to have my insurance cover the entire cost. Without having to worry about the financial aspect, I could concentrate on the more serious burden of having to live with a deteriorated mental state. After an initial evaluation by a couple of perfectly capable graduate students, I was paired with one of their psychologists named Dr. Baguer. For the sake of maintaining my privacy and without using any hyperbole, I will just say that Dr. Baguer is an angel that walks the earth. Anyone who is lucky enough to have him help with any emotional or mental distress is truly blessed. Speaking of privacy concerns, virtual meetings are available and are just as effective as in-person talk therapy. Overall, my experience with Neuropsychological Services of Astoria was an excellent one. In my first conversation with Dr. Hernandez, I remember him assuring me that they would help and take care of my issues. Months after speaking regularly with one of their miracle-working psychologists, Dr. Baguer, I can look back and say that he was true to his word.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this neuropsychology practice, and I would not…read morerecommend this practice based on my experience. I came here as a concerned mother looking for answers about my daughter. Instead, I felt that an excessive amount of the conversation focused on billing and a potential balance of approximately $2,500 rather than on my daughter and the reason we were there. What made this even more confusing was that my insurance company referred me to this practice. I have never had issues with my insurance paying for covered services, so I did not understand the intense focus on whether and how the practice would be paid. As a mother concerned about her child, my priority was getting answers about my daughter--not repeatedly discussing the practice's billing process. I also voluntarily shared information about my daughter's other insurance coverage. Afterward, I felt that information I had provided in good faith was used in a way that I had not expected or understood. This left me extremely uncomfortable about how my family's personal insurance information was being handled. Another major concern involved coordination of benefits (COB). At one point, the doctor mentioned that he did not know what COB meant. I found this particularly confusing considering how much of our interaction had focused on insurance, billing, and whether the practice would be paid. After contacting my daughter's insurance directly, I was also told that they had not sent the provider a COB. Those inconsistencies made me question whether I was being given accurate and transparent information. I personally came away from the interaction feeling that I had been misled. Another issue did not fully register with me until afterward. A student was conducting the assessment with my daughter. At the time, I thought she was simply checking my daughter in and that the doctor would ultimately be conducting the evaluation. Had I clearly understood beforehand that a student would be conducting that portion of the assessment, I would have wanted that explained to me before proceeding. Overall, I did not feel informed or comfortable with how this practice handled my daughter's care, our insurance information, or the billing discussions. My experience felt far more focused on payment than on helping a concerned parent understand what was happening with her child. The entire experience damaged my trust in the practice, and I will not be returning.
