They kept in touch and showed up on time . Kevin who I believe is the manger came out himself as he had promised a 45 minute wait and they kept their promise. Kevin said lets give this some time since the car has been sitting . After the car started Kevin shared valuable advise on dealing with my 12 year old car as it was shaking at 1st. I am so lucky that Kevin came right out took care of ny car and offered valuable advice . I hope not to need a Tow Truck or a jump anytime soon , but if I do , I would absolutely call Close Towing and I would ask for Kevin . My first time here, and only because Rick and Rocky's car care in Canton messed up my headlight…read moreassembly installing HID lights back in 2012, that I got rid of because they never worked right. Over the years I got tired of fighting with the RHS bulb blowing, every time it rained. So I had to get a whole assembly like the manufacturer intended. So I gps myself here, decent directions. Enter yard, pretty huge, enough places for a 100 cars if everyone showed up to get parts at the same time. I entered through their front door, behind glass security desk a lady charged me the $2 entrance fee, asked me what type of vehicle and gave me a list of what they have on the lot. As per their website this is one of the 3 total lots around Detroit. Their row numbering system was a tad confusing at first, till one of their employees pointed out, that I have to be in the suv section and not the Chrysler section. Found what I needed, and took it off. Went back inside and paid the $23.21 saving me $80 should I have bought online or $120 should I have bought at the dealer. Over all nice experience. If you have an American built vehicle from 1985 to 2010 this is your junk yard. They do have some foreign cars mostly toyotas, 3 1983 Mercedes and a 1981 Volvo 940DL. (All this was noticed while I was searching for my row number lol).

I had a great initial experience with Nick. My car broke down in Livonia out of town, as I'm from…read moretwo hours West. I contacted Nick and he said that he'd give me $450 for the car and that he'd meet me whenever, which was a legitimate offer that I was happy to consider. While he ended up sending one of his guys out to get the car on time, he (his employee) immediately said that the "catalytic converter" was bad (I had just recently put $1,000 into the car and had a full checkout of the car from the shop; this was never found to be an issue) and tried to now take it for $350, and this after showing up and saying that the settling price over the phone was $400. This "catalytic converter" problem was apparently what his boss had said when he sent him a picture of the car. Since I was from out of town, I wasn't going to have any major qualms and settled with $400 but figured I'd write this review. So, by all means use Nick's Cash for Junk Cars, but just be ready with backup offers and others on hand so that he doesn't slash you for the little money that you'll end up getting anyways.
