I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at Bob Maxey Ford, Inc. I scheduled an appointment for my Ford F-150 for an oil change, recall, and a rear differential leak. I was told to bring the truck in at 10am and that I'd need to approve a $250 inspection fee upfront, even though I have a premium care warranty. They couldn't clearly explain what would or wouldn't be covered. I dropped the vehicle off at 9am and was promised a call in the afternoon with an update. No one called. I had to follow up myself at 2pm, and again at 4:30pm after being left on hold. By the end of the day, I was told they hadn't done anything on the truck. No inspection, no real progress, and no communication. I then went to pick up my vehicle, and no one apologized or explained anything. No communication, no accountability, and no respect for customers' time. Completely unacceptable experience. I won't be coming back. read more

I tried this place a few times. Work quality dropped off worse with each return. At first, it was little things like not returning air valve caps and not closing the box for my engine air filter. It progressed to taking my car in for a serious grinding noise they diagnosed as brake rub, which I reinspected to discover it was a failing drive shaft component. I still have warranty parts on back order for 2 yrs.. This place is a wreck in terms of service. Good luck with them. read more

I'm looking for clarification regarding a recent service visit. I purchased an oil change package for $74.00, which included an oil change, all fluids, and a tire rotation. Before the service, I was already aware that my front driver-side tire had a slow leak. After the service was completed, I noticed that same tire was still low later that evening. This raised concerns that the tire rotation may not have been performed, as the leaking tire remained in the same position. I returned to Maxey, explained the situation, and was told the tires would be rotated at that time. However, three days later, the front driver-side tire was low again -- the same one that had been leaking all along. This led me to believe that the tire had never been rotated, as its position hadn't changed and the leak persisted. Since the service team wasn't aware of the leak, this was my only way to verify whether or not the tire had been moved. Now I'm 2 visits to the location, hours of work missed and still have no rotated tire. Sad. read more

We took our Ford F-150 in for front end repair after hitting a deer in January. Bob Maxeys collision shop repaired the damage. Around June, when it got warmer, we realized that the a/c didn't work, and a wrench kept popping up on the dash. When I called them, I was told that it was my responsibility to prove that they did not finish the repairs from the front end damage. I can bring it to them for an "assessment", and then they will schedule an appointment.... which they were scheduling 2-3 months out. We decided to take it to a different dealership for the assessment. I found out that Bob maxey charged the insurance for the work, but didn't do it. I went back to Bob maxey, and they said I was out of luck. Even though I provided the proof that it was an oversight on their part. An $800 oversight. If you decide to use this dealership, good luck. read more

First and for most they denied my bronco when I towed it there because they didn't have my information. Um isn't that what a vin # is for ‍. So it sat at the tow truck drivers personal house in a not so nice neighborhood for three nights (Fri, sat,sun) one it was towed back Monday afternoon They refused to take care of my car because I didn't buy it there . It gets better, the new shop manager called me "white privilege". Than proceeded to tell me to get my 2022 Bronco ( 2,997 miles) out of his lot or he is going to impound it. Are you kidding me!!!!!!! All because he wants to get paid ( his words) and not work for free aka (ford premium warranty) that I paid for and have. Told me to take it to where I bought it from and let them deal with it. It's been there for two weeks now and I just gave in and had it towed to where I bought it from. Btw. It doesn't start anymore and the windows magically don't work now. Hmmmmmmm law suit????? I just want my car fixed nothing more and nothing less. If you have had a bad experience here than let the people know. read more

Car was all sorted and taken care of however the mechanic stole a few items out of my car. The signs they have posted in the lobby that read "we are not responsible for stolen items" should have been a warning. I called and called, finally got a hold of Jen, the lady I was working with and she gas lit me telling me that they didn't take or move anything - however I know for a fact that is a lie. I was then given a follow up number and still have yet to get a hold of anybody. OK...So here's the story: As soon as I saw few pics and videos of the Ford Fusion 2013, I was soooo much excited about it!!!! I think this car is one of the most beautiful and stylish vehicle in the Ford line up until today (I see Lincoln coming up too!!!). I made up my mind and tried to convince myself that I would def. go for it. So what's next? Well..You start searching for dealers, I inquired close to 6 dealers and ended up purchasing my new ride from this place. Why not other dealers???? Well, many reasons: compared to other dealers their sales dept. closely understood my financial situation, walked me through a variety of options in order to lower my EMI, which features I could rule out from the vehicle, provided me with minimum APR and on top of that the way they approach their customers is the key which I liked the most: respectful, very kind and polite attitude (It's CRITICAL for me, I dislike people who don't know the meaning of respect). I know this place is in Detroit (my fav. city) (so you might be a lil afraid to check out) but believe me give them a try and who knows you might end up being their new customer..... JOB DISCRIMINATORS. I went to a job interview that went very well but later on found out that they wouldn't hire me because i have dreadlocks. I could understand if it were messy but i keep my hair well managed and maintained. They went on to say that my hair is "unprofessional" and the only way i could get hired is if i decided to cut off my hair, that i've had for years. Practices like these are biased toward people of color with natural hair styles and to with hold a position just because of a persons hair type should be illegal and is flat out discrimination. Purchased my new vehicle from here. I was in a tight situation - I was recently t-boned in my previous vehicle by a distracted driver and that vehicle was totaled. Thank God I am alive. I had only a little time to get a new car because my insurance company would only pay for the rental car for a few more days after it deemed my old vehicle totaled and cut the check. I hate to be the one to do this but for folks that are not mechanics I feel the need to do it and ill try to make it short. 1 my kids car quite running at 70 MPH 2 had it towed to the dealer 3 after a couple of days the mechanic goes to the car and guess what it starts and can not make the car stall or stop running. 4 after a few more days no codes and the car keeps running,,, o boy,,, they want to give my kid the car back without doing anything 5 I talked to art miller and ask to change the cps, fuel relay, and to do a fuel pressure and volume check==maybe a bad fuel filter,, just for the fun of it 6 guess what after being told the car would be ready a couple of days ago i made the call today to be told they did nothing except do a headlight recall and will be ready in an hour. art told me he does not want to replace parts that wont fix the problem ?? Duh,, what problem? the one you cant identify? Anyway, csp 20 to 40 bucks, relay same, fuel flow 1/2 hour, fuel filter same price as other parts,,, being proactive priceless,, will it fix the car ??? My wife and I found had just left a fundraiser for a church in Detroit when we discovered we had picked up a piece of steel and the tire on our brand new Ford Explorer was hissing loudly. In a panic, we tried to think of where we may find some kind of tire service on a Saturday afternoon in downtown Detroit and decided to take our chances on making it to Michigan Ave. with our fingers crossed. Imagine our sheer delight as we drove down Jefferson and remembered Bob Maxey was not only right here, but open! We pulled in and explained the tire situation and were pulled in immediately and the tire was plugged. We were done and going home within 20 minutes at no charge. I purchased my car from here in cash all 18,000 and then I brought a warranty! BOB MAXEY IS THE WORST. I will never purchase from them again not even an oil change. They can't do anything correctly! They made me an extra key, it lasted all of a month then popped off. I went back to the dealership and they said that they couldn't help me and that it cost 200$ for another key. I didn't care about the cost I just needed a new key! Still no direction ! I asked them before I left the dealership what kind of oil change did they give me, the guy said synthetic and to rotate my tires next time I get an oil change, I went for an oil change and my tires were screwed and I had to buy 250 worth of new tires because they never changed my tires on my car! Then I got he warranty, I do monthly payments on the warranty and I asked the man could they take the payments directly from my account, he said yes and took down my information, come to find out 2 months later that he didn't do anything to my account and it's past due, so I have to pay double now! I hate bob maxey it was the worst car purchase experience of my life. Every time I asked a question about my car the sales person didn't know or referred me to go to another dealership... Chose 1 star because zero was not an option. Between my family and I we've purchased or leased 11 vehicles since April 2011. I am a Ford employee and have a large family. In November of 2018 I took my 2015 F-150 in for service. While in the good hands of Bob Maxey Ford of Howell, they severely damaged the right side of my truck. An employee driving my truck ran it into one of the yellow barrier poles near the service garage. My running board, rear door, cab and bedside were all damaged. Without a doubt it was not intentional, it was the actions following the damage that have caused me to write this review. As I stated, my truck was in for service. Having received extensive damage to my truck, I asked for two things. One, return my truck to factory condition and two assistance in the cost of service repairs needed. While trying to workout a cost break for repairs with the service manager, the Owner Mike Maxey was pushing me to agree to let them do the body work "as they deemed it". I was not aligned with their assessment of the damage. Key components were not going to be replaced. Before I could work out the service repairs needed, Mike Maxey told me "either accept the body repairs as they deemed it" or return their loaner, take my truck and deal with his insurance company. it's January 2019 and I'm working with his insurance company to get my truck repaired. Everyone was helpful and friendly when I leased a car, but not when I returned it. I brought back my Mustang in perfect condition. I asked if anyone was going to look it over and they said another day. This worried me, so I took pictures all around the car, just in case. Sure enough, a week later I received a letter stating I owed $560 for damages on the car. They sent me pictures of a big dent in the car. I sent them my pictures clearly showing no dent in that spot when I dropped it off. The pictures show the dealership in the background and a time stamp. Not only are they not interested in my pictures, they won't even reply to the three emails I have sent asking for help. For three weeks now they have ignored me at Bob Maxey and the Dearborn headquarters. Before you say I should have had a pre inspection, I called about that and the person at BM told me to just bring it in on the turn in date, so I did, and then got screwed and now ignored. Beware when dealing with this dealership. I won't ever again. read more

I've gone to this dealership multiple times for service on my Sable. Their always extremely accommodating and knowledgeable about my vehicle. I went in for an oil change last week and had a meeting that prevented me from being back at the dealership before it's closing. They worked it out and dropped my vehicle off to me at my house. If I could give it less than 1 star then I would I brought my Ford Escape 2006 in for a diagnostic test to find out why it was not started they kept my car from Thursday morning to Monday then they told me they was still not sure what it was but I need to get a tune up which cost $600 and some other part for a total of seven hundred and twenty dollars and they still not sure if thats the problem but from there they will do further diagnosis charge me $100 didn't tell me anything and when I got the car back the battery was completely dead could not even use the clicker to open the doors so do not know what they was doing for the whole time they had my car I would never go to them for car repairs and I recommend that nobody else does once I found out that the car was completely dead I went back in to speak to the service guy Dave that I was working with and he saw me coming and left for the day. I know that it was the end of the work day however that is terrible customer service read more

These folks have been great to me both times that I've come in. Once was for a routine service check. They were really busy because it was raining and a Saturday but they were very friendly and honest and told me my car would be about 2 hours and that they'd call me when it was complete. I was actually called when my car was ready and they gave it a nice wash too. The second time I came in, someone had tried to steal the wheels off of my vehicle and I was missing lug nuts in both of my front and rear tires, the rest of them were severally loosened. When I first came in they told me it would be an hour and a half wait to take a look at my car but then one of the service men decided to take a look at my car really quickly. He then drove it to the back of the shop, threw some new lugs on and took it for a test drive to assure me that it would be safe to drive and sent me on my way. 10 minutes tops. The employees here really go out of their way to be honest and deliver top notch service. My go to dealership in Detroit. read more
