Oscar from Your Fireplace Specialist came out to look at our gas fireplace on a Saturday. There was some urgency to have it functioning because our furnace was being replaced and while we were waiting for the new furnace to be delivered we were relying on the gas fireplace in the interim. I told Oscar this. The pilot light in the fireplace was on but the fireplace would not light. Oscar said it needed a new control board and he would try to order one and let me know. I paid him $65 for the service call. I heard nothing further from him so after waiting all week to hear from him I called again. He said he couldn't find the board and forgot to call me back. He flatly told me to call another fireplace repair company. He could not even tell me the part number of the board so that I could save the cost of another service call. Terrible service. Very disappointed. Despite repeated requests for Oscar to refund his service fee, as he had promised to do, he did not keep that promise. read more
