My first visit to Your Nails Bestfriend was wonderful! I was referred to the salon by my niece and I'm so happy she did. She also recommended me to have BIAB (Builder in A Bottle) service done. This service is a gel polish that is applied as an overlay on your natural nails. Making an appointment was easy peasy. You can go to their website and make an appointment, text, or call. I opted to make the appointment online. They will text & call to confirm your appointment. I live a bit far from the salon, but it is definitely closer from my job. I think next time I will make an appointment after work on the weekday. I arrived on Sunday, the salon just open so there was not a lot of traffic going in and out. What I love about this salon was it was quiet; the salon is much smaller than the franchise nail salons. The salon played soft melody music and offered complimentary beverages. My nail tech was very professional while working on my nails. I asked questions about BIAB before getting started since it was my first time with the service and my first time at the salon. I wanted to wait a week or two before writing this review to see if my nails are intact. My nails are still looking fresh and are still shiny from being a little over a week old. To start off they cut the back of my heel during my pedicure and my nail technician for my manicure, Chelsea, left the salon to go home before my nails were done. She didn't do the top coat right. She claimed that she has not used/done the top coat in two years so she was not sure how it would go. I had to stay at the salon for another 30 minutes if not longer, while two male nail technicians came over and redid my whole top coat. they filed, drilled, and redid it, they were great. At the end, the front lady apologized for the mistake but no discount was given. I paid $100 to be cut and my nail service redone because my technician left before her client was even done. I had plenty of small things that happened as well. I am very disappointed. Do not go here! read more

It's usually just gel x or dip/acrylic and my nails can't handle it anymore. I booked the service with Ethan and omg even just the manicure before the builder gel was applied was exquisite. Editing a third and final time and changing it one star review. I came into salon today 5 days after my initial service to get my nail fixed as the gel polish started peeling already. As I was leaving the lady who works the front desk stopped me and literally told me bc of the review I left I was not welcome back LMAO I was never going to give this business another dollar regardless but the audacity to say that to a customer who's been nothing but loyal to this salon since moving here is quite insane to me. She then tried to be passive aggressive with me and said "our technicians are clearly not good enough for you" as if I'm in the wrong for wanting my nails that I pay $100 for after tipping to look good. Fuck this salon. EDITING TO REPLY TO OWNER - as I mentioned in my review I have been going to the salon since November and receiving the same service same nail shape same design every single time. Yesterday was the first time I was ever charged for FILING. It is part of the job to file a nail. I did not request a coffin nor an almond. I have a wide nail bed and like my tips to fit my nail bed and not be super wide. The nail tip that is glued to the nail is already quite tapered. I have never once been charged for a square shape. Never received an email or text or call or notice of any change in charges as you try to mislead in your response. I've posted two photos. The one with gray shirt is how my nails have always come out. The nails on right are what I left the salon with yesterday. They're not tapered at all. They're SQUARE. I moved to the Houston area late October and I first came to visit this nail salon early November and initially I just got a pedicure. I was pleased with the service so I then made an appointment to come in to get a full set. I probably have come to this nail salon for maybe five times to get a refill since November today. I decided that it was time for a fresh set. It was long overdue so I requested a removal and I got the exact same nails that I have been getting since November, which is a tapered square French tip, they already charged $25 on top of their $50 full set just for the French alone OK cool no complaints I've always paid $75 for my nails whether it be a fresh set or a new set today I knew I would be charged an extra five dollars Because of the removal but caught me off guard and has completely turned me off at this point now is that I just got charged a five dollar fee for a "special shape" on my nail. Let me remind you that I got a square tip glued on my natural nail, and the amount of filing that the nail tech did was minimal because I did not request a coffin. I requested a tapered square Which to be frank my nails look very square in my opinion they don't even look tapered. They're the most square that I've had since coming here I have never once been charged a five dollar additional fee for filing I could understand if I was getting almond again. I could understand if I was getting coffin but to charge me five dollars to shape a tip which is what should already be done I think is excessive and unnecessary. the woman who was checking me out could tell that I was not pleased about that extra five dollars because I have never once paid that for the shape that I have been getting since November And I saw her talking to what might be the manager. I'm not sure who he is and they still charged me the five dollars I have frequented and only gone to this nail salon since moving to Houston but I will now be looking for a new nail salon because for me it's just the principal. I was able to get an immediate response and upon arrival I was told to check in on the tablet first; okay! I had been visiting this salon for over a year since I followed Jack (co-owner) from Gloss salon. I was happy to support his new entrepreneurial endeavor. The last time I went for a pedicure I had a very unfortunate experience. I had booked with Tee but for whatever reason they had me scheduled with another tech. I thought against allowing anyone else to perform the services but decided to move forward. I was badly cut by the technician that serviced me.(see photo). I understand that things happen, but I have never seen anyone bleed this bad from a pedicure service. I asked for Jack, the manager, and they acted like it wasn't a big deal. I obviously couldn't continue to have my toe nails painted considering how bad I was bleeding, so they gave me a bandaid and sent me on my way, saying I could come back another day to finish. They took a very lax attitude, unfortunately. I sat in my car outside the salon and tried to wipe away the bleeding, which was getting worse. It got so bad that I went back in the salon and showed them. Only then did they offer me a wound cream and told me the service would be at no charge. I came back to the salon today and chose a service that was $30 higher. Should be the least they would do considering the blood was pouring from my toe because of one of their employees right? Apparently not. Ethan (another manager) told me I could not choose a higher service, which was very disappointing. Again, I've been a very regular customer and followed the owners from a very nice and popular salon (Gloss), trying to support a small business. As you can imagine, I will never return to this salon due to their disappointing response to this situation. read more
