Gotta love that. Turkey aviator was toasted and cheese melty. It was good. A sea of lettuce. The tomatoes could have been larger or more prominent. I like tomatoes. I've had a few different salads, some of their soups, and their chicken salad. All pretty good. Again, I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Service is friendly and prompt. Food comes out quick. Place is clean. Deep booths and middle tables. Dark wood. Light atmosphere. Nice patio. For a quick sandwich soup type of deal you can't go wrong.

We must've been on the back end of the busy lunch out. Maybe perfect timing! Not. Here's where it gets odd. It took 20 minutes for someone to come greet us once we were seated. We ordered a grinder, a chicken salad, a kids pizza, and a few bowls of French onion soup. It must've taken at least 45 minutes to receive our food. My wife and I just ate half our meals and headed for home to get our other young guys from the bus. I finished the grinder for dinner that evening. Around 9 p things went super sideways. My stomach was destroyed. I feel like my gut is generally pretty strong but this recked me. My wife wasn't feeling well. We looked at each other and with the two of us both in bad shape we did the math. Must have been some spoiled meat. I was up all night with all the fun (graphic) symptoms of food poisoning. Feeling much better today. Hind site is always 20/20 but I would never take my family back to Grinders. We should have saw some red flags but we didn't. Terrible experience. Couldn't recommend this one to an enemy.

Richard was extremely helpful and showed us where the garden department was located. Even the bags of dirt are displayed as beautifully as merchandise in a high-end store! After making our purchase, we decided to head over to the restaurant. We were warmly greeted and given our choice of a booth or table--we chose a booth. Our server, Josh, promptly offered beverages, and we enjoyed freshly brewed coffee while looking over the menu. I chose the BLT on a croissant with a side salad. The meal also came with fresh buns, available in either whole wheat or white. Josh told us that most people choose the white, which made me smile. The salad arrived almost immediately and included shredded lettuce, grated carrots, and two tomato slices with a side of blue cheese dressing. It was good, but the BLT--wow! It had more bacon than Miss Piggy could dream of. Unfortunately, there was no mayonnaise on it. I'm not sure whether it wasn't offered or if I simply overlooked it, but I added some to the half I brought home, and it was just as delicious later. I would highly recommend the BLT on a croissant. And if you have the opportunity, ask for Josh as your server. We were told we could request him, and honestly, I would go back just for his excellent service. Another fun aspect of the experience is the atmosphere. The place feels almost like a Las Vegas venue--huge, spotless, and designed to accommodate hundreds of guests. Despite its size, the service was outstanding. We even shared a few laughs with the dessert server. Speaking of desserts, you should see them--they're enormous! So, stop by the hardware store, enjoy a meal at the restaurant, ask for Josh, and save room for dessert. I highly recommend the entire experience and can't wait to go back!

Last weekend we took a Saturday morning trip to the Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market, and it…read moreturned out to be such a fun outing! When you first pull in, you're greeted by the huge marketplace sign, and right on the corner is the garden center--complete with the famous Bigfoot that everyone seems to stop and pose with. I was surprised to learn that vendors can rent a 10x10 outdoor space for just $22 a day. The catch is you reserve the same day each week for four weeks in advance, since the flea market is only open four days a week. $27.00 under the pavilion but there's a waiting list. Before we started shopping, we stopped at Sarah's Grill for lunch. Their burgers were delicious--fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, sweet onion... definitely worth the stop! Then came my favorite find of the day... strawberries! They were advertised at $5 a flat. When I picked one up, I noticed a few moldy berries underneath. The vendor immediately smiled and offered them to me for $4 a flat instead. Sold! I brought home two flats, which worked out to about 16 quarts of strawberries. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a bag of fresh kettle corn--that's become one of my favorite flea market traditions! Like any flea market, there was a little bit of everything--the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some booths looked freshly stocked, while others looked like they hadn't changed in weeks. But that's part of the adventure. You never know what treasure you'll stumble across. When we got home, I immediately flash-froze most of the strawberries, and the rest became homemade freezer jam. All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning--good food, great bargains, and a freezer full of summer to enjoy later. Have you ever been to the Hartville Marketplace? What's your favorite thing to hunt for there?

It's a 6 star restaurant, if such a thing exists. They have the absolute best appetizer menu I've ever seen. There were 8 items on the appetizer menu and with just 3 of us, we obviously couldn't order all of them. We started with the Bavarian pretzels, mashed potato balls, calamari and sauerkraut balls. And that's also the order I would rank them. The pretzels were the best I've had, maybe ever. The mashed potato balls would have been at the top of any other restaurants list, but not here. The sauerkraut balls were good, but not great and the calamari was also good. For our entrees, we split a patty melt, which might as well be called a party in your mouth melt. To die for. We also split the ribeye, and here's my story about that: 12 years ago, my wife and I were at Hyde Park in Columbus and I had to this day, the greatest ribeye I've ever had in my life. The problem comes, that I'm always chasing that ribeye. Every time I go to a restaurant, I debate in my head between the filet and the ribeye. And 99 times out of 100 I go with the ribeye. And 99 times out of a hundred, I regret my decision... Until tonight, IG does what everybody needs to do but only a select few are able to do and that's what makes the ribeye fat the best part of the steak. Somehow this place in a strip mall in Sprngfield OH does what every steakhouse tries to do, nails the ribeye.
