Swensons is one of my absolute favorite places for a burger and shake. Swensons is open year round which makes this burger and ice cream drive-in unique for Stark County. The location is on North Main st in North Canton diagonal from the Meijer in North Canton. The parking is around the building with additional parking in the parking lot. When you are ready to order: flip on your lights and their friendly staff will promptly be out to you. One thing to note about Swensons: one method of payment per vehicle. In other words, one check per car. Always check out the seasonal Shakes and sandwich of the month on display around the building. The current seasonal shake flavor is the Oatmeal Cream Pie Shake! I love Oatmeal Cream Pies and was thrilled to try it. It had a unique flavor for sure similar to oatmeal raisin cookies (yes, there are some raisins in the shake too). My go-to burger at Swensons is the double cheeseburg with ketchup and mayo. Always delicious . The fried zucchini is finely sliced, breaded and fried. Swenson's always hits the stop and always has fantastic service! We stopped in to grab some food to go after our churches Christmas Eve Service and they were open until 7:30pm. We were greeted by Santa Claus while we were waiting for our food to arrive. The Galley Boy in a basket is always my go to meal. If you've never been to Swenson's before and you visiting or new to the area, drop what you're doing and GO!!!! Their burgers are iconic! Meh. I've heard from everyone how I absolutely NEED to go to Swensons and it's a local tradition and it's delicious, etc. I think it's average. I've had better, and I've had worse. In fact, I think the most popular fast food burger places (McD's & BK) are better than Swensons. I ordered 2 of the 3 items that were recommended to me by all my local friends. The Galley Boy burger and the Potato Teezers w/ a side of ranch. I skipped on the Grape Milkshake because I wasn't in the mood for anything sweet and I don't need the extra calories! If you're not in the mood for anything sweet, then you should NOT order the Galley Boy burger. It has two different "secret sauces", one of which is a bit tangy and the other is pretty sweet. The bun was good, but the patties were thin. And it was sloppily thrown together. It's a pretty average (to below-average) burger. The sauces just don't really enhance it, they kindof detract from it. I liked the Potato Teasers (they are potatoes, cheese, and chopped mild jalapeños). The ranch was not that great. The Potato Teasers don't really need it, so I would skip if I ever got them again. Honestly, I probably won't go back to Swensons unless someone insists (and pays!) because it's just not that great. I saw this place has under 4 stars. Are you insane? Do you not know what you have?! Swenson's is God's gift for living in Ohio. For enduring the weather, the terrible Republican government, the heartbreaking Browns losses... Swenson's makes you STAY in Ohio. Fast and great service. I came for the Sloppy Joe and the fried mushrooms. They both didn't disappoint. I love a good Sloppy Joe and I'm the only one in my family who does. The Sloppy Joe was full of meat and flavor. It was also served fresh and hot which is always a bonus. The fried mushrooms were also tasty. First time visiting this OH classic. I was recommended to visit here after announcing that I was moving to Canton, OH. I checked it out after being in the area for about a week. I had the Galley Boy basket, as recommended by many. I'll admit, I was not all that impressed. It was slightly pricey for what was offered, and the only redeeming quality was the fact that the sauces were so unique. WOW, I am just amazed with the performance of these workers and the quality of the food yet again. The hustle Jaden provides time after time again os truly outstanding and he definitely deserves all of his olive rankings. Dan has managed to make my night time after time again and be on top of it when it comes to his customer service and friendlines. Thomas the new trainee is doing very well and is definitely doing great especially for only being his third day on the job. I believe they all deserve a raise along with more olives on their badges. I was so hungry for a Galley Boy - remembered one was in North Canton...so went there instead of driving to Jackson Township. I should have gone to Jackson Township. The grease dripping wrapping should have been my first clue. The bun - top and bottom were wet from so much grease. The sandwich was sitting in a pool of grease. I used to be swensons biggest fan but after several bad meals over the past couple years I'm officially done. They replaced the bun and it's no longer velveeta cheese, and all quality control is long gone. You will most likely get a overcooked patty on a burnt bun with an excessive amount of butter on it, all squished into a wrapper so tightly the gross cheese runs off the burger. The monstrosity you take out of the wrapper appears to be dipped in grease and smashed. It's nasty. It's really just consistently awful now I have to just accept it and move on read more
