Came in early on a Tuesday snowy night. Place was quiet. Was promptly looked after by a very nice woman bartender. Bartender told me what they had on tap and the nightly specials. Went with her recommendation of the Cajun chicken pasta. It was very good. Service was excellent. I hadn't had lunch and since it was early thought I might be hungry later at my local hotel. I ordered the special boneless wings to go. The to go order didn't come w blue cheese, I had to ask. And was surprised when I got to hotel, takeout didn't have any utensils. It pains me to write this but we used to go here regularly before the pandemic. Last month was our first time back since 2019 and we were excited as we used to love this place. Well that was short lived, they have slashed their menu in half. They barely have signature pizzas now and most of the unique menu is gone. So I see what I normally order was still on the menu, and he got his Deep Dish. The waitress was nice enough but was not attentive enough and went a long time without drink refills or anything. It wasn't super busy so we're surprised by the lack of service. As for the food; oh boy. Along with the menu being slashed the food was also mediocre now. My pasta was watery and not flavored as well, I ended up having incredibly bad heartburn that night because of it. It was over spiced in a bad way, since they apparently cut down on the amount of cream and just used water it amplified the spice intensity to where it wasn't flavored well. This used to be my favorite but it looks like they skimp on the cream and use more spice to cover it up. I ended up throwing it away later that night, I barely ate any there. I was very dissatisfied with it. He didn't have much to say other than his pizza tasted like pizza sauce and that's it. He wasn't impressed, we took it home and he just didn't want it and we threw it away. The restaurant was clean as always, so no qualms there. It's a shame because DB used to be our go to but probably not anymore, slashing the menu in half, raising prices and it seems like a cut to quality just really soured us in there. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing a sign posted that said due to staff shortages, their hours were being reduced. However, the dining experience was absolutely fantastic. I asked to sub out my hamburger bun for a salad so I could have the burger as a salad and they didn't hesitate to make it happen for me. Our server was super attentive and brought refills without us asking, made sure we had everything we needed, and was so good with our kids. Everything on the salad was fresh. Great dressing. While the salad was really good I wish there was a little more meat and cheese on it. The salad did have super fresh ingredients and it tasted good. The double crust calzone was yummy! Very unique way to serve a calzone. It had plenty of tasty ingredients in it. Three or four people could easily share this calzone. Our server was very good. Ordered delivery through door dash and the food arrived faster than expected. We got their New York style pizza and as you can see we already ate half of it in the attached photo. I really wanted to love this place because family members have chosen it as their favorite restaurant and are here often. I loved the atmosphere and all the Frank Sinatra music playing. I wish the music had been a little softer so we could carry on a conversation easier. I also wasn't thrilled with the fans above blowing down on me. The area around our table was littered with large crumbs and other food. Service was superb! Our server was always there, but not intrusive. The menu is extensive, with salads, sandwiches, pizza and meals of all kind. I wanted pasta as it's my favorite. We ordered 2 cheesy garlic breads (because there were 6 of us) and they were wonderful. Crispy on the bottom and lots of gooey cheese. There was a side of marinara that was excellent. The bad news was as soon as they brought it, they brought our meals. We had ordered it as an appetizer, but that was not meant to be. That drives me crazy!!!! I had ordered the baked penne and it came in the large portion which I had been warned about. For me, there wasn't enough sauce and many of the noodles were dry because they had no sauce and had been baked. The sauce was weird and had large chunks of tomato. Having previously tried the marinara, I was disappointed with this sauce. If I came again, I would build my own pasta and have the marinara. read more

Lou Malnati's in Chicago has a crustless pizza--uses sausage as the crust. A fantastic carb free pizza. Wish Danny Boy's did same with their deep dish. I really enjoy this Italian restaurant- they have such a cute theme going with the Frank Sinatra and "Rat Pack" decor as well as music from that era. The food has always been delicious with the exception of once - I believe they burnt the sauce and everything that had sauce tasted like it!! But I only had that happen the one time. The prices are great and you get enough food to cover lunch the next day! Yengling Light is $2.00 for a short! This is a casual joint with good pizza! If that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you. The deep dish pizza and the woogies, in particular, are excellent. The regular style pie is solid as are the wings -- they could have a little more sauce and meat, but that's just my preference. They were hot and crispy. I've always had good service here from the waitresses/waiters but as I've said before, it's a casual place with a laidback vibe so if you need something more than that to have a good experience, keep that in mind. read more

This was one of the saddest restaurants I've been to in years. Sweet tea was spoiled. Meatballs are 90% breadcrumbs. Pizza has almost no cheese on it. Chicken sandwich was supposed to be on a Brioche bun but was served on a plain hamburger bun. Chicken breast was maybe 3 oz, completely unseasoned, very few fries even though they were an upcharge to get fries. The sauce for the meatball was pretty good though. It's got an interesting vibe inside that doesn't really match the Italian food but it's still eclectic and comfortable. It's definitely casual and the staff was very friendly. We were down in the area for an all-day wrestling tournament and STARVING... We are unfamiliar to the area and were trying to find somewhere close that didn't have a long wait, and this restaurant caught our eye. We had about a 10-minute wait before getting seated (as estimated) and were allowed to look over the menu while we waited. Too many delicious sounding choices! But we settled on chicken parm, the Clevelander pizza, pasta with peppers (chicken), and I forget what pasta my dad got, but they messed up his choice of sauce BUT quickly made it right and let him take the erroneous order home free of charge. Before covid went at least 1x a wk for pizza Well one time we got a pizza we got often and it tasted off , my husband and I realized it was missing either one or two items and it just did not taste good at all. We probably tossed half of a large pizza bc it was so bad. No problem that a mistake happened , but I called that night manager said sorry , that they had trainees. She said she'd send a gift card in mail. Months later we didn't order again yet, and we were thinking of ordering it and I was like oh ya they were supposed to send us a gift card. Not Gluten Free Friendly Although the menu says they offer a gluten free pizza crust (not guaranteed because of environmental cross contamination) the waitress claimed that the crust itself was not entirely gluten free. To me she seemed completely uninformed on what gluten free was. When I asked for a gluten free menu she waved her hand dismissively and said nothing on the menu was gluten free except maybe salad. She treated me like a second class citizen for asking about gluten free in the first place. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (no bun), it was adequate. The menu says it comes with kettle chips and "a pickle." The "pickle" was two thin slices. The 8 others at my table seemed satisfied with their standard Italian fare. We sat out on the patio, which was relaxing on a summer evening. Close the road, and I don't remember being feasted on by mosquitos. We started with garlic bread. I pro was that it was made very fresh, the con was that it tasted more like baked dough that you could dip in marinara. None-the-less, it was unique, and tasted fine. Then we ordered the Chicago style pizza. It only comes in small and medium. Portion size was solid. We split it amongst 3 adults and had 2 pieces left to take over. Everything was nice about the pizza minus one thing that we all agreed on. The way they do sausage is a bit odd, and some of you out there may actually love this. The sausage under the sauce is a full layer across the pizza. Like you know those sausage patties from breakfast restaurants? Take one of those and make it the size of the pizza and lay it on the pizza. It's not that it tasted bad, it just seemed excessive for the pizza. I entered the words "deep dish" for my search for decent pizza over that german pizza insists on getting when we're in town. What I got was more than decent, it was awesome. Super nice staff, cute atmosphere and 2 salads, a small deep dish pep and cheese, 1 drink and 1 water for under $20!! Unheard of! They played Rat Pack faves interspersed with reggae, Italian guitar and contemporary music which made for an interesting mix to chat by. The salad, while a little lacking on portion size, was good with their peppercorn dressing. The reason they couldn't fit much salad on the plate was because there were these 2 huge, pillowy soft, garlic butter, parmesan cheesy breads taking up most of the room. I swore I wouldn't eat them both and I almost succombed...leaving an inch of the butt of one for principle's sake. Those babies are like crack! The pizza was really good, the sauce was sweet and while it wasn't necessarily "true" deep dish by Chicagoan standards, it was still good and we'd definitely go back!
