If you are entertaining toddlers and need a some safe fun, Yu Kids is a good option inside the Woodfield Mall. On Tuesdays, they offer a $10 special for an hour of play. My granddaughter seemed to really enjoy the colorful bouncy balloons and well padded climbing structures. There were activity puzzles on the wall. The kids were required to have an adult present and wear socks. There are cubbies for shoes. There are places for the adults to sit and even have newspaper to read. The clerk was friendly and checked to make sure we were having fun. She was 5 star. There is a snack bar. And restrooms available. They offer birthday party programs and more. We went to this place and they canceled my nieces 5th birthday party bc we asked them to have a heart to let her cousin play who was only an inch over the 48inch limit. Instead of accommodating or having a discussion. The young women decided to power trip and called security to kick us out and cancel my nieces birthday. We already agreed it was fine that my daughter who was over the limit was not allowed in there. But they still wanted to power trip and ruin my nieces birthday. On top of that they would not refund us the money!! Stay away from this place at all cost! Update : The owners were not present during this incident. So the owner and their employees are obviously fabricating details about the incident. In response to the owner, the owner is a liar. I never swore at the girl when they said my daughter could not enter. There was no argument, just a request to make an exception. They refused, and We immediately left and returned much later. Where do I begin. This place needs repair, cleaning and better staff. It was so gross from the floor to the ceiling. Everything was dirty or ducked taped as repair. Overpriced and staff spent more time on their phones then actually working. We came here for the first time and I was a bit disappointed. My daughter is 2 1/2 and she only lasted like an hour because there just wasn't enough for her. I understand it's made for smaller kids, but she is still young and the moving features were just way too slow. Also, the conditions of the equipment were kinda sad. I was lucky to have gotten a Groupon, but I would have been real upset to have spent over $20 for that. For that price, things should look a lot better, but there was duct tape on a bunch of things and pad coverings falling off of other things. There was also no one working at the snack counter, so we could've just taken anything and left, but had to go to the front to pay and there is also supposed to be free coffee, but there wasn't. I think either a major remodel needs to happen or prices need to be cut by at least 1/2. read more

Apparently there is a height requirement that makes them not qualified to play... what?! So dare your skinny kids 1 inch over 48" have a growth spurt because they ll just steal your money! I have celebrated my son's birthday here 2 years ago and I really enjoyed this place. Package price was less than everywhere else plus let us bring our own food for no fee. But when I can few weeks ago there with my youngest kids I was shocked with the amount of dust they have on the ceiling and it's about to fall on your head. That's what kids are breathing there with. This is a place (and equipment) that looks good from far. But once you get a little closer the equipment is ripped, stained, badly beaten up, has holes, and appears dirty. This place needs an update and things need to be reupholstered. . I went here about a year and half ago and it wasn't as bad. A that time only a few things were in "okay" shape. It was $21 to enter and it wasn't cheap to enter but they should take sometime in do some updating. Also things are broken too. The "water slide" and the Spinning circle thing were broken. My 4 year old has a great time there! We always buy the pass deal because it's so worth it! The workers are always cleaning and I think the equipment is in good shape. Obviously there's wear and tear, there's kids jumping all over stuff like 9 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a height requirement: under 48 inches unless you're a sibling of a little one. Be aware of that. And to be honest, it should. This equipment is for little kids, 8 and 10 year olds are too big to playing on this kind of stuff with smaller kids. Also, it has a great area for parents to hang out and sit. It has a counter to watch them. I come here often to work while my son plays. Good free wi-fi too! They have a little snack bar that sells snacks and drinks. It does get pretty crowded on weekends and some evenings. It's the perfect size for little kids too. Here are some things to note: 1. Admission is $12 a child but parents are free. Discounted rate is available after 4pm. 2. Socks are required since no shoes are allowed. No socks no service. 3. The staff are very kind and helpful. They were constantly monitoring the kids or cleaning the areas to prevent germs. 4. Your kid will fall but there is plenty of padding all around. I didn't see any blood stains anywhere. 5. Watch your kids because fights can occur especially from older kids. 6. Beware of overly aggressive monsters and inattentive parents. 7. Came here after the rain forest cafe. Clever to be right across from it. Customer Service: Decent. Lady signed us in, you sign waiver. Only have to pay for child. Cons: Can get crowded. Germs, not sure how they clean but my 2 year old daughter when in the small balloon part, found candy in there, and put in her mouth. (quickly before we could grab her or the candy) They should have people checking regularly for stuff like that. Another con, big kids and little kids can get rough. Daughter got knocked down twice, because kids are running, jumping, screaming every which way. They're parents just watch from a distance or go on their phones. Oh, and parents can't go in certain sections. So your kid can get trampled if you let them go in with rowdy kids. Not cool! PROS: My daughter loved it. She really burned some energy off there. Her face was so red (as many other kids) from running around all over the place. Kids can cool off in the balloon sections where the balloons fly everywhere, cuz there is fans in there. Nice. You can walk with the kid, but just not go in certain sections. I had to buy socks. $2. Always carry socks with you people! Wouldn't come back unless I was in the mall. My twins just had their 4th Birthday party at Yu Kids Island and it was just amazing! Granted, this was one of the busiest days to have a party with 5 back to back parties, our guests had a blast. The play area is top notch, way better than any toddler place we had ever been too (and we have been to a lot)! There was a playroom malfunction and yet the staff went far and beyond to make us have a successful party. We were at Room 3, which was one of the older rooms, you don't need anything much to decorate the place, it's very nice! We ordered Papa John's through them and it came hot and ready to eat. My child spends a good hour or two here. She loves this place! I like how clean this place is. It's not as busy and clutter like most play areas we've been to. The atmosphere is very kid friendly, as it should be. Very bright and clean. $15 entrance fee might seem a lot, but it's actually good for the entire day. I actually grabbed a good deal from Groupon. My kids love coming here to play! There are always Groupons available or they have $5 hour play on Tuesdays. The whole play area is well padded, so I don't have to worry about my kids hurting themselves on the equipment. Some of the equipment is high, so I do stay with my two year to help him climb on some of them. My four year can do everything here on her own. I also appreciate that the play area has a wall around it so my kids won't run out! My only suggestion is more bathroom facilities. My child really had to use the bathroom and since the two were occupied, we had to wait a little bit. I didn't really know what to expect when I came in but had heard good things so we made the haul up to Woodfield to check this place out. I think what separates it from most of the playrooms we've been to is that there's no toys here. A lot of places have set ups similar to a preschool classroom with dress up areas and pretend play, etc. But Yu Kids is a great place to just exercise and develop those gross motor skills. Lots of things to climb on, lots of slow merry-go-rounds to jump on and ride. My boy had a great time and I'm pretty sure we'll be back soon. It's $12 to play on weekends and $10 on weekdays. I'm pretty sure I heard the cashier say that once you buy the wristband, you can come back all day. We were in on St. Patrick's Day and they were giving $2 off for kids who were wearing green. Score! I also saw a special for $30 for play drop off on the weekends for parents who want to shop without the monsters. Sounds like a decent deal. read more

Awesome place for kids. It's bright well lightened and colored. The floor is of soft rubber material. The place has inflated jumping areas, spinning balls, water bed, hoping balls and so on. My kids enjoys this place each and every time we visit. She must be having the same feeling as a adult going to brewery. Lol. Socks are must in play area for supervising adults as well as children. They have socks for sale for a dollar in case you forget to wear. You will find Yu Kids Groupon deals every now and then. Its a good deal. One time admission is $12. We hosted my sons birthday party at your playground on Sunday 1st. Overall, 3 years are easily pleased and enjoyed their day! However, it was a very disheartening experience for my husband and I. I arrived at the store around 10 20 as I was told I can be let in at 10 30 to set up. The store associate did not open the store until after 11. I had to rush and bring things in from the car which half of my cookies had melted due to being in the car in the heat and all of our drinks were warm. The party room was dirty with sticky floors. I had to wipe down the tables and put down the chairs. We did not receive any pizza for the kids and supplies. We had to order pizza and had it delivered. Only table covers and a few plates were provided, the associate went out and gathered forks and knives during the party after I asked a few times. I reached out to the store manager over a week ago and have not received a call or email. Very disappointed in the lack of communication. read more

My son loves playing here and I love taking him. We spend hours here, easily. There is an entry fee but Groupons can be found. It can get a little crowded on weekends, but not too bad. Everything is padded. The staff are walking around cleaning constantly. Lots of areas to climb, bounce, run, and play. Children's music (like nursery rhymes) is played through the speakers. One time, they had characters come out to visit with the kids - a "Baby Shark" and "Marshall"-like character. There's a seating area for parents to watch. I understand that kids over a certain height can't be in there. But I can't understand how they let the adults watch over and my oldest couldnt watch my lil one. My oldeat weighs a lot less than I do. Plus me going up and down and being pregnant was kind of hard and that is why i had my oldest help Also, it seemes like it was only towards us since there was another family that had their oldest watch their youngest ans nothing was said to them. That is why I prefer Ball Factory which parents or kids of any height can go up and down. Plus its the same price and their is no time limit. This WAS a great place to take my children. I just went last week with them and everything was great they had so much fun! They always have...until today. I went with the girls right before closing time. They didn't care if they would've been there all day or for just a half hour. They were so excited, then the employee ruined their day by saying they needed to be 48" or under. She took my tallest daughter and stood her next to the measuring stick and she was 49"! Looked at me as if I were an idiot, right after I had told her we were here last week and didn't have a problem with it. They had NEVER brought this up before. AWFUL EXPERIENCE trying to book a party here! I am appalled at how they handled my inquiry and how they eventually cancelled my party because one of their employees made a mistake. I initially spoke to an associate who confirmed my daughter's Friday night party and all was well. I sent invites to all the guests and received confirmation from them. The manager, Caroline, calls me the next day to tell me that they can no longer accommodate my request and asked if I wanted to move the party up to another time (which would require me and all my guests' parents to take time off of work). I asked the manager how something like this could have happened when the associate CONFIRMED the date and time with me just a day before. She replied crassly that that's not how it works and since I didn't give them my LivingSocial voucher number (which I offered to the associate during the initial booking) that nothing was set in stone. Basically, she was very unapologetic for the entire debacle and offered no consolation except "I'll talk to my employee." I am completely turned off by them & will make sure to share this negative experience with all my guests/fellow parents. Get your customer service skills in check! read more

This place is in the mall, so obviously its a little small. Although I thought the best part was they put wristbands on all the kids to make sure none escape without their parents, but when we left, no one checked us. So what's the point? It is small though, so I felt like I could let the kids run around and if they were completely out of sight, I didn't panic. Other than completely leaving, there aren't many places they could go. I think it's a great place if you're out of ideas and need something to do with the kids. It had been raining for days, so I took the boys here and we were able to run around and get out of the house. It was perfect for that. Took my 4 year old niece to Yu Kids after eating at the the Rainforest Cafe. She had a blast! I really only wanted to be there for 30 mins, but she kept asking to stay a little bit longer. 1.5 hours later, we were still there. Unfortunately, she lives out of state, so all her new friends were sad to hear that she wouldn't be back anytime soon. I came here as a play date with some of my friends and I have to say although it was crowded at 11am, by 12:30pm the place was pretty empty. My 1 year old son LOVED (LOVED LOVED LOVED) the balloon room. He couldn't get enough and was throwing a small tantrum when we had to leave the room when the bigger kids came and started knocking him down. My 2.5 year old daughter also liked the balloon room and the turning spiral. There wasn't that much she really enjoyed but we kept her busy and running around. Not the absolute best play room and I would definitely never pay full price but I did think that it was great for the price I paid using groupon. Towards the back of the play area there is a small concession stand. Cash only, with a minimum of $5 for credit card transactions. This is where they always jab you in the gut with crazy prices. I would have liked to see more workers making sure everyone was abiding by the rules. Especially when it's super busy, there's no workers to tell the big kids not to run all over (or even parents for that matter) and having a 1 year old walker isn't very fun when you're trying to make sure he's not getting trampled by the older kids. read more

This is a pretty nice place to take the kids. The first time I went, my little one was barely walking. We had to stick to the one corner that is designated for babies. It costs $10 to $12 (depending on the day) to go in, so I wouldn't recommend it for babies. I went back when my daughter was a toddler and she had a blast. It's clean and there is usually one worker walking around making sure all is well and no one is misbehaving. There is a good variety of fun things for the kids to do, like spinning merry-go-round style rides, balloon rooms, inflatable slides etc. I like that they have benches inside that parents can sit on and watch the little ones play. Or the stools next to the coat hooks also provide a nice viewing vantage point to keep one eye open, yet still relax with a friend. This place is the pits. There are SO many cleaner, more stimulating, better managed play places in the area. I took my 16 month old here, and we will not be back. The equipment is dirty and very worn. There are areas where there is thin or no matting on hard surfaces and edges. Parents are NOT watching their kids and let them run totally wild. I had to step in and ask several other kids to please be careful around smaller children in the DESIGNATED area for LITTLE kids because they were running through, knocking kids over, and throwing things around. The staff here is always friendly and always willing to do whatever it takes to ensure a good experience for both kids and their caregivers. The play area is very well maintained and clean, regardless of how many kids are there at once. I love bringing the kiddos here to release some energy. I do have two complaints: the price of admission and the no outside food policy. When I bring the kids, I pay almost $25 for the both of them to get in. Granted, admission is for all day play, but with two toddlers it's not likely that I'm going to bring them back out after naptime. I think the price is just a little too high per kid, and would love a discount day or coupon every once in awhile. As for outside food and drink, it's not allowed which is definitely an annoyance. Again, when I have two toddlers who are at the picky eater stage, being able to bring in a snack I know they'll eat--versus having to choose from a small selection of kid friendly but still deemed "yucky" snacks--is preferable. All in all, though, I do love Yu Kids and will continue to come here regardless of any complaints being changed or addressed because the kids love it, too, and that's most important. read more
