Not Worth the Money, Even at a Discount I was really disappointed with our visit to Legoland Schaumburg. Even with a 40% discount per ticket, it felt like a waste of money. Adult and kid tickets are priced the same, and each adult must be with a child to enter -- which makes sense, but still adds up quickly. For the price, I expected a lot more. Most of the attraction is just pre-built Lego displays to look at, with very limited hands-on building opportunities. There are a few things for kids to do -- a small indoor play area, a short VR experience, a little theater, and a mini kiddie rollercoaster -- but overall, it's minimal for the cost. I can't imagine how crowded it must be on weekends, even with the timed entry system. We went during a less busy time and still didn't feel like it was worth it. Bottom line: I definitely wouldn't pay full price for this place. I spent $70 plus for two adults and two kids (5 year olds) I wish I would've bought them a nice Lego set and it would've been better for them! After an hour ish, the kids wanted to leave.

My high energy Lego loving son had an absolute blast at this discovery center. Staff was pretty friendly. We stayed there for about 3 hours. He loved the 4D movies where it blows wins and sprinkles water on the audience. Some parts were geared more towards littler kids but he enjoyed most of it. We are from out of town and just visited downtown Chicago, so seeing the whole model of the city was awesome! We also bought tickets through AAA, so we got two tix for $52. Groupon had deals too.

Absolute money grab. I will Never be back until they fix the pricing. $30 a person even the adults not doing shit have to pay? Ridiculous it's a playground on a second floor. Never coming back.

I was hesitant to visit Legoland after reading some of the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The tickets were a bit expensive but I got a discount of $20 a ticket through my work. I was a bit surprised that children (3-12) were the same price as adults. We did the Chicago exhibit, jungle, Friends area, ship playground, merlin's adventure, and dragon ride. The staff wasn't overly friendly but the kids loved everything! The gift shop at the end was the same prices as local stores but they had a good inventory. Happy we made a visit!

It's meh. I am always looking for fun things to do with my little one and today, I finally caved and checked this place out. It is over hyped and over priced. The worst combo. First off, their main ride, the Merlin wasnt even operating, which they failed to let me know while paying. Pretty scammy IMO. Secondly, the shooting ride was so lame. The shooter wasn't working (we went twice) and it felt like they were trying to rip off the Toy Story ride in Disney but failed epically. On the upside, no one was rude and there were lots of places to sit. However, if given the choice again, I would just go to the Children's museum. Both Kohl's Childrens Museum and Dupage Children's Museum are cheaper and a better way of spending their time. Would not come back, but would still buy legos.

Wow wonderful place and very creative nice creations. Very much fun for all the family and you can buy the cutest keychains and play with the family. Every time I come here I have tons of fun and I wish I could have the patience to build a tower like the once they have in Lego land

This is one of those places that's such a great (corporate) concept but in reality... kinda gross because it's not well maintained. There are a couple of rides you can do without getting the premium ticket, but they will either break or the seat will be so small you can't pedal. In the biggest playroom--legos all over the floor and children absolutely everywhere. Not for the faint of heart or anyone who with a walker, fall risk, etc. BUT: the kids will love it because there's such a great variety of activities. You start with a recreated Chicago skyline and jungle, then lots of free play with legos, a play structure, etc. We went with a 7 YO and two 5 YO on a basic ticket and got through pretty much everything in 4 hours. The cafe has ONLY soft pretzels, nachos and cheese pizza so definitely eat somewhere nicer in Schaumburg before you go.

What is the collectible included in the premium price? Wondering if it's worth it but haven't seen it mentioned in any reviews.

Hi Taresa, the collectible is a small build with a variety of options to choose from at admissions. If you choose to not purchase it with the ticket you are able to still purchase the collectible by itself once onsite during your visit.… Read more

We were able to get tickets via the AAA discounted website for $15 for children and $6 for adults. We arrived at around 10:30am on a Tuesday morning and the place was practically empty. After scanning our tickets and getting our wrist bands, we proceeded to the play area. The play area contains multiple areas themed with different characters such as Rebecca Rabbit's Burrow, Grandpa Pig's Garden, Peppa Pig's House, Madam Gazelle's Bus, Duck Pond, and Dinosaur Dig. The interactive Muddy Puddle jumping screen was pretty cool. There is a small snack shop as well as some tables and seating nearby. The bathroom was clean at the time of our visit. While there were some stained/dirty carpet throughout the space...the rest of the space was in good condition. The staff members we encountered were welcoming and friendly. The store is a bit pricey...but what attraction-based souvenir shop isn't! While we had a great time...I can only imagine how chaotic this space would be during peak weekend times...choose your time accordingly to avoid the crowds if possible.

And I'm sure there are plenty of other parks in the area that do not charge. The place was pretty packed on a Sunday morning at 10:20am, but not in an annoying way. I thought the equipment was uniquely different from your standard playground. Lots of creative equipment for sensory play. I wasn't SUPER thrilled to see the gritty sand and water (am I just super OCD or are there actually parents out there that see that at a playground they drove to that says "oh yay! Water and messy sand!"). Oh and the death trap tight rope was also a "yikes" reaction, but my kids stayed away from it, so no biggie. It was fun. I wasn't bothered by the one hour time limit (although, I don't even know if they actually kick people out because we left a little after 11am and I didn't see them trying to clear the area). But.... It was hot and I was ready to leave the park and do not mind having the backing of being able to tell my kids that the park is closing to help get them to leave.
