First time here and not planning to go back any time soon I ordered Chirashi, unfortunately sashimi weren't not fresh at all. I couldn't finish them because they were too fishy and some of them were mushy in the middle. I had to order Salmon belly roll after I tasted that. I also had a hard time downloading the menu from QR code since phone reception inside was not that good so I had to ask for physical menu instead. First time here, definitely will be a repeat! Dragon Roll was delicious, love that the roll wasnt too "fishy" (IYKYK) Salmon Teriyaki was perfect! Nice charred taste, not dry at all, cooked perfectly well and the sauce... omg it was just the right blend, not overly sweet. Definitely my favorite so far. Beef Udon flavor was very good, not too salty and very comforting. Udon was not over cooked and had great texture. Chicken Katsu was also flavorful and the sauce it came with had a sweet and savory (almost bbq like) taste. Dining area was clean, definitely brighter and more spacious than expected. I was very disappointed with this restaurant and quite frankly I am still in shocked on how bad the food was. One thing I can say is nothing is fresh. We went here right when they opened at 3pm yesterday. The female server just had a straight face didn't smile for anything. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. Parking was easy as we were able to park right in front. Food: this is pretty much where everything went down hill. I ordered the CA handroll and the nigiri deluxe with spicy tuna roll. My boyfriend ordered the 2 item bento box with teriyaki chicken and California roll. The moment my nigiri deluxe was placed down on the table I could smell an odor coming from the fish. So I decided to try out the hand roll first. Avocado was in between okay to about to go bad since I started seeing black speckles from when you peel it from the skin. Avocado definitely was not fresh. I took maybe 2 bites and left that alone afterwards. The nigiri deluxe was disappointing. The cuts were very thick and I couldn't really taste any of the fishes. I always eat nigiri without soy sauce because if it's fresh the taste of the fish is enough without having to dip it in soy sauce. The spicy tuna roll was definitely already pre made. The kicker/shocker for me and my boyfriend was the chicken teriyaki bento box. The chicken was lukewarm, honestly we think it was already cooked prior they just warm it up in a microwave or something. Even the rice wasn't hot and the California roll was not fresh. My boyfriend ate two and did not want the rest when he would usually finish a whole bento box. Is it cheap yes. But ive been to other cheap places that atleast has some freshness to their food. My boyfriend barely touched his food cause it just wasn't good. All the food came out within roughly 10 minutes of us ordering it. If that, maybe lesser but it was really quick. And again I didn't hear anyone cooking anything. The server was literally on her phone 80% of the time. The best thing I had here was their hot tea. read more

Echoing the reviews that mention how the quality of the fish is poor. We ordered the nigiri deluxe and it was awful. The cuts of fish were large with an overly fishy odor. Texture was also questionable. Their cut rolls were okay, but you get what you pay for. The waitress is also not the friendliest but she had a particularly bad attitude that day which made the overall dining experience unpleasant. They also charge a 3% convenience fee for card payments too, regardless of how much you spend (we had spent $60+). This was not the case the first time I was here. Waitress/owner asked if I had cash instead since that was preferred. That was already irritating on top of the poor quality of the food and the poor service. Will not be coming back. read more

I'm surprised after all the times I've been here or ordered from here, I've never done a review. This is our go-to sushi spot. Reliably delicious and quality consistent. The blue fin toro is a fatty treat!!! I like to get my hands on their chicken teriyaki bento box because you can get it with rolls or Salmon sashimi (amongst other popular options like gyoza and tempura). I am opting for the 2 sides of Alaska roll and Spicy tuna today in my bento box! I had the beef teriyaki bento but felt I got more bang for my buck with the amount of chicken they put in versus the beef. The owner, I assume, is prompt. She takes orders quick and the food is served quick. Come on time for your pick up to get it warm! In fact my food was ready in under 15 minutes for 2 bento boxes with 2 sides each! You get the benefit of grabbing food but quality food for quick service. Hats off the fast chef too. It's been a few years since we ate here but that is more due to us not being a couple that dines in. The place is decorated in Japanese images. Our dance troupe performed on 13th July at the Hayward Veterans Memorial Building, where all the open windows couldn't disperse the heat enough--and there was no ice for bottles of water. Once everything was stashed for travel, about 7.30, our Fearless Leader (who had been there before) directed us to Yuki Hana, where there were a few vegetarian sushi options: we also have troupe sisters who need GF options, and non-fish eaters (I'd be a pescatarian if I could). We weren't the only ones from the dance festival choosing to eat there. When we entered, it was pleasantly cool. The "straight faced woman" (from another review) got our disorganized group of 7 seated, and menus, napkins, chopsticks were set out, with full glasses of water with big chunks of ice following shortly. We asked for water carafes, making it easier for both parties While I didn't see a section of sashimi with prices, I saw quite a lot of food I would eat. Hadn't had anything since 10am but water, so I might've order some to go. I had the largest spider roll I've ever had -- $12, less than I usually pay in the South Bay, and the double hamachi roll $15. If I hadn't still been overheated, I would've order o-cha. The food came out shortly, and the sound level went down immediately. We were all happy with our food. Given as many drivers as we had, no one ordered alcohol--but given the laughter, you'd never have known. Post-performance meals are usually politely raucous. I almost had to take home leftovers--at least four of us did, the portions being that generous. We discovered while trying to do "bistromathics" that the woman (owner? Mother of owner?) has a dry wit. I left a larger tip than usual, because we were a large group. I've bookmarked Yuki Hana under GBA Sushi & under Alameda County restaurants. Ordered takeout after the all-too-common urge to buy as much sushi as humanly possible overcame me. It's an affliction I'm sure you all know. I can't say much about the service, seeing as I just ordered takeout. The meal was ready within 15 minutes of ordering. Fantastic. Upon walking in I was greeted by the gentleman behind the sushi bar and the lady at the register gave a warm smile and welcomed me. The ambiance was clean, appropriate for the price point, and suitable for a neighborhood sushi spot. The toro was a bit sinewy, and the rice was underwhelming, but that's more a factor of the time between prep and actually eating it (about 30 minutes). The rest of the nigiri was fantastic. The classic rolls were assembled pretty well. Nothing fell off and all of it stayed in one piece upon picking it up with a chopstick. Wanna know if the rolls aren't done well? It falls apart. All in all, it was a good experience. I'm looking forward to eating there in person. This meal with a cold Sapporo sounds delightful. read more

We ordered ahead and picked up for takeout -- the owners are such nice people who are always safe and cautious. The only downsides are parking and location.
