It was cool, they have an outdoor and indoor seating arrangement. There's hella parking and it's tucked away on the end of mission. We came here in the late afternoon/early evening on a weekend day. There were a few tables taken. The main part where the food is made has about 4 tables. The side part the restaurant is odd with its own entrance and although at the side of the restaurant there is no connection between them and the side part was a little more warm as well. The food overall was fine. We ordered two bento boxes. One with salmon and gyoza and the other with a California roll and tofu teriyaki. The tofu teriyaki had a very slimy texture and would have tasted better if the tofu was crispy. The texture was just weird. The California roll was standard. The salmon had no flavor with the sauce and could have been seared and spiced a little better. The gyoza was standard as well but the sauce was a little odd (thick and creamy as opposed to more of a soy sauce vinegar). The staff was kind and they had complimentary candy for folks. The inside is small but they have extra seating on the side of the restaurant, the owner is very nice but the ladies do have a slight attitude bc I tried to talk to one and she blantly ignored me. I feel like this place makes you think you're getting your money's worth because the rolls are big, but in reality they're mostly just stuffed with imitation crab.We had ordered a couple different rolls and sadly I didn't like any of them. To go order review. The person that took my order over the phone was really pleasant and accommodating. I asked for no crabmeat for a dragon roll and he said they can do it. Most sushi places would say they aren't able to modify their rolls. The spot itself is a small restaurant but they did expand it a bit which is good to see. Sushiland has decent sushi. The Saba nigiri didn't seem as fresh compared to other places I've tried. The salmon in the salmon maki felt a bit grainy when I ate it. Ok it was our first time here and were pleasantly surprised. The yelp reviews did not disappoint. We came around 8:40pm and they're open til 9:30pm. There's two parts to the restaurant, we were sat in the other area away from the kitchen. Small restaurant but the food and service were really good! The lion king was delicious! I haven't had a good one like that in a while, I liked the sauce on top that they used. We also had the soft shell crab (crispy perfection" and the tempura mixed was a big serving and delicious as well. We tried the beef udon and really liked it, the meat was tender and the soup was balanced, not too salty at all it was perfect and it had plenty of vegetables. We also ordered the 49er and they gave us 9 pcs of the roll (maybe they were closing so they gave us an extra one? what a nice gesture) Our bill came to about $100 with a bento box to go. There was only one other party inside so we were able to get a table right away. Just a heads up this place only has a few tables so it could fill up fast. On the plus side they have their own parking lot which makes things a lot easier. I ordered the half chicken udon and a spicy tuna roll. I also got the red dragon roll. The udon portion felt more like a full size to me. The broth is on the sweeter side which I didn't mind. It came with fish cakes which I'm not a fan of so I took those out. The chicken was good and seemed like it was the same teriyaki chicken they use in other dishes. The spicy tuna roll was solid but the highlight was definitely the red dragon roll. It had shrimp inside and spicy crab with spicy tuna on top. Probably one of the best rolls I've ever had. Everything just worked perfectly together. The customer service was also great. I know it's an Americanized roll but it so good. Lemon is my favorite so this always hits the spot. I went with the 3 item bento box , chicken teriyaki, gyoza, tempura ! Sushiland is located on a busy main street off to themself with a small parking lot. The restaurant itself is tiny and cramped, so dining in is a bit hit or miss on most weeknights and weekends. I did not have a positive experience last time, but I decided to give them another chance, as I was nearby and craving sushi - I ordered ahead on the phone for pick up. I ordered the Kani / Sake Nigiris and Sake Maki rolls (smaller version of the salmon roll). They rang it up as Unagi Nigiri instead of the Kani Nigiri (which is more expensive than what I actually ordered - I would believe it was a mistake if they made the unagi instead of the kani, but they made the kani and charged me the unagi price, which is a bit dishonest). I felt like they also overcharged me for the maki rolls, as they were the smaller version of the actual salmon rolls without avocado, but they charged me for the regular Salmon and Avocado rolls. Crazy it was almost $40 for all of this, which was very pricey for what I ordered and received. The Sake Nigiri and Sake Maki were a huge miss, the salmon definitely was not fresh - it smelled and tasted off, and I felt sick right after taking a few bites. The Kani Nigiri was decent, but had a slight weird smell. I had pretty bad food poisoning after eating their sushi, so this was all in all a terrible experience. read more

Our food came out quickly. -Sushiland roll: interesting presentation as it's basically a salad with a pile of cut fish on top, dressing, and a basic roll hiding underneath. I feel like the dressing drenches the roll so eat the roll first or remove it. -Winterland roll: standard and was fine. -Las vegas roll: I liked the cream cheese. Also fine. They are generous with the portions and the fish was solid! They do put a lot of sauce on these rolls though so I felt like I couldn't really use soy sauce. I'd recommend ordering with less sauce if you're not into that. It really is more of a 3.5 star establishment imo but sadly Yelp doesn't give that option. There is plenty of parking available. We ordered the 911 Roll, Volcano Roll, Bento with Teriyaki Salmon and Beef, and the Agedashi Tofu. The rolls were fresh, flavorful, and generously packed with spicy tuna. The teriyaki was tasty but leaned a bit too sweet for our preference. The tofu was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. You won't find a hole in the wall hole-ier in the wall than Sushiland with as warm service and plentiful servings. With fewer than 8 tables in their small dining area, their lack of mainstream popularity definitely works in their favor because our party of 3 came at 6:00 sharp on a Thursday to no wait at all. My companions ordered bento box sets with the teriyaki salmon/sashimi and mackerel/tonkatsu. The salmon was seasoned well and the sashimi had good color to it, and the mackerel was "some of the best [she'd] ever had" with a great crunch on the pork. Soup and salad were solid and even the unfinished plain rice was taken to go. Now for my dish: the Sushiland roll. Imagine my surprised when I was served what seemed to be a plain spring mix salad topped with poke and avocado after having referenced the menu description. Somewhat dumbfounded, I poked at it for a while and made progress on the top layer of fish until I discovered an ENTIRE ROLL under the salad stuffed with the shrimp tempura, imitation crab, and spicy tuna I was promised. Not even kidding, I was AYCE sushi levels of full after this meal. Unfortunately the wait staff have to go outside and enter through a separate door to serve the customers outside. On a cold day like today, that would affect the temperature of the food... Good size parking lot, plenty of parking. Service - Approximately 7+ employees working. 2 wait staff, 2 sushi bar employees, and 3 employees in the kitchen. But 1 of the wait staff had to walk outside to enter the other room, and I am sure that really affects productivity. They both also had to take care of their to-go orders and phone orders. Was looking for a new sushi restaurant and came across this "whole in the wall" type sushi spot. It is very unassuming and you could almost miss it from the street. The inside is pretty small, I think you can only seat about 5 tables inside, but it looks like they may have some outdoor seating as well. Service is friendly, and food is pretty good. I would say that the rolls are bigger than average. I forgot to take a pictuee of the bento box but my neice got a 2 entree box and it was pretty big! This restaurant is located right off the 238 freeway. It is very small inside with 4-5 tables, so when busy don't expect to sit down. I noticed most people were picking up food to go. What we ordered: Appetizers: -shrimp tempura, edamame, miso soup Rolls: -lion king (baked) -California -49er -raiders roll Drinks: -Nigori -Kirin beer Overall the fish tasted fresh and the rolls were made well. My favorite was the lion king. It was warm and delicious. I really wanted to love the raiders roll, but the ratio of cream cheese to unagi and salmon was a little off. I like cream cheese but not that much. The 49er is a classic California roll topped with salmon and a lemon slice, very fresh and light. The tempura shrimp was good, but we honestly ordered too much food so I wasn't able to finish that. The miso soup was 10/10!! It's been a while since I've had a really good miso soup and they didn't disappoint. Nigori sake is cold and unfiltered. My go to when wanting drinks at a sushi place! The one here is pretty mild and tasted good. It wasn't as sweet as other nigoris I've had and I enjoyed that. Overall, I would visit again when craving sushi in the east Bay Area! read more
