The Short Version: Great little Asian restaurant in the Plateau that specializes in dumplings but also has other items. Food was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and we really enjoyed it. I initially was going to get their soup dumplings (their specialty), but when I looked at the menu, I saw that they had Laksa ($18.99), so I couldn't resist ordering that instead. My husband prefers pan-fried dumplings over soup dumplings, so he got the pork and mushroom dumplings ($14.50) and there was a $1.99 surcharge for pan-frying (the base price is for steamed). My Laksa was huge and delicious. The broth was so rich with coconut milk and a bit spicy. It was really flavourful. The noodles had a nice chew to them. The soup also contained some decent-sized shrimp, velvetized sliced chicken, cubes of tofu and a boiled egg. I wished it had some vegetables in though because I felt very unhealthy eating just starch and protein, lol. I did enjoy it though ;) I had one of my husband's dumplings and it was good. It had ground pork in it and chopped up mushrooms. There was a slight gingery taste to it. I liked it and my husband liked them too. Service was very pleasant. The server refilled our waters regularly and I like that the water had ice in it and was very cold. The restaurant is not too large and has seating on a main level then up a few steps they have 4 more tables of 4 by the front window. All 3 were freshly made & ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Dumplings were soft, delicate & the peanut sauce was amazing. Gentlemen taking orders(owner?) was polite & efficient, repeating the order back again on pick up. This place was oh so close to hitting a homerun with us! We came here on a recent Friday night for dinner, and the cozy dining room was busy enough but we saw at least one open table, but were told by staff that we would need to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated. This is not a massive space, and I kinda digged the unassuming, bustling local restaurant vibe. There were two pairs of people in front of us but they turned out to be picking up, so we were seated probably right about when they said we would get a table. The menu is uncomplicated, and we settled on the shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings (12 pcs) and seafood laksa. There was a chili next to the laksa on the menu and when I asked staff, we were told that it was impossible to make it less spicy. Food came out without much delay. The dumplings were possibly some of the best I've had, and if someone told me they made them to order, I'd totally believe it because they tasted freshly made. The fillings were tender and flavourful, and the honey soy sauce was just right for dipping because it wasn't overly salty. The laksa is where Yum Yum lost an extra star. Apart from the fact that the broth was so spicy that it almost made me gag when I occasionally accidentally inhaled it, it seemed that they have added their own touches to the authentic laksa in that the broth wasn't as rich as I'm used, and the noodles weren't the typical fine ones that I've come to expect. Having said that, the toppings were cooked to perfection, and the overall flavour was enjoyable. By the way, the lady who sat next to our table and got the same laksa as us was clearly having trouble with the spiciness as well. Curiously, the staff offered the lady to make the broth less spicy, which the lady politely declined, but it did make me wonder about whether they can make it less spicy for people like us and her who enjoy the flavour but can't handle the broth as it is. Really wanted some soup dumplings even with the winter storm happening so went to this place as it was the closest one to our accommodation. Food came out a bit slower than usual but the staff did inform us it might take a bit. Really enjoyed the peanut rolls, the soup dumplings were just okay (I've had better ones). What a surprise this little dumpling restaurant is! It's just down the street from where we are staying in Le Plateau and it got great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Saturday night at 6:30 and they were pretty full but we were able to get a table right away. They did great business with a steady turnover of tables and a thriving to-go and delivery business. There was just one server and he was super busy but really nice and attentive- my water was always full! Hubs had his first soup dumplings (the shrimp, pork and chive ones everyone raved about in other reviews) and the owner came out and showed him the proper way to eat them! I had the vegetable soup and the mashed potato dumplings which I loved. Their house made chili oil was out of this world and you can actually buy jars of it (which I did). Food is a little slow to come out because all the dumplings are made to order. Talk about fresh! The only thing I didn't love was the side of kimchi that I ordered. It wasn't bad, just not for me. Ate at Yum Yum because I just happened to be walking by and looked in the window and the food looked amazing. We got the vegetable fried rice, vegetable noodles, and the #39 and #40 dumplings. The friend rice was the best I've ever tasted in my life. Not too salty & very creamy, plus the vegetables were all fresh. I was surprised when the noodles came out and they were crunchy but I ended up loving the dish. Not something I would've tried intentionally but glad we got them because they were delicious. Their ingredients are so fresh! My husband and I were walking down the street one night and stumbled upon this place. From their front sign, it seems like they opened not too long ago as they offered grand opening specials. We ordered soup dumplings, one order for each of us (each order comes with 10 dumplings!). Each order came with a choice of an egg roll or wonton soup. I had the wonton soup and it was cleansing and not overly salty. My husband said the egg roll was alright. The soup dumplings were delicious and you can really tell that the cook uses fresh ingredients. Other soup dumplings I've had, they are always very salty. We were actually walking to a french restaurant for my birthday dinner when we passed a few dumpling spots on our way. This one caught our eye because we love soup dumpings and while yes we have them in Dallas, they're not great. So we said "let's just get one order and then go to the other expensive restaurant and not have to spend so much"...well as soon as I tried #117 (pork & shrimp xiao long bao) I knew that's what I wanted to eat for my birthday dinner! We slurped em up and ordered more and never bothered with the other restaurant. It seems to be a family run place and the server probably could have used a little help but I was shocked there aren't more reviews! Please go give them a try. I do wish they had fresh ginger dipping sauce to offer (when we asked for ginger they just gave us pickled sushi ginger) but other than that I'd eat these every day! read more

Really loved this place! Came for a long weekend trip with a couple of friends, and arrived Friday night STARVING and exhausted after a long drive. Yum Yum was extremely accommodating and stayed open late just for us! The food was delicious and filling, and incredibly affordable. They had great specials on drinks too. We were staying just down the road from Yum Yum, and found ourselves back multiple times during that one weekend (one guy ate there 3 times in less than 48 hours!). A few minutes after we ordered, the waiter came back and told us that they were quite busy so we might have to wait a bit longer than usual. We were okay with that, and it was totally worth the wait! Overall I think it's a decent restaurant, soup dumpling is good, but not at the very top level comparing with all the good soup dumplings I've tried in the very first store of Din-Tai-Feng in Taiwan and all others back in Asia.
