    Shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings

This place was oh so close to hitting a homerun with us! We came here on a recent Friday night for dinner, and the cozy dining room was busy enough but we saw at least one open table, but were told by staff that we would need to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated. This is not a massive space, and I kinda digged the unassuming, bustling local restaurant vibe. There were two pairs of people in front of us but they turned out to be picking up, so we were seated probably right about when they said we would get a table. The menu is uncomplicated, and we settled on the shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings (12 pcs) and seafood laksa. There was a chili next to the laksa on the menu and when I asked staff, we were told that it was impossible to make it less spicy. Food came out without much delay. The dumplings were possibly some of the best I've had, and if someone told me they made them to order, I'd totally believe it because they tasted freshly made. The fillings were tender and flavourful, and the honey soy sauce was just right for dipping because it wasn't overly salty. The laksa is where Yum Yum lost an extra star. Apart from the fact that the broth was so spicy that it almost made me gag when I occasionally accidentally inhaled it, it seemed that they have added their own touches to the authentic laksa in that the broth wasn't as rich as I'm used, and the noodles weren't the typical fine ones that I've come to expect. Having said that, the toppings were cooked to perfection, and the overall flavour was enjoyable. By the way, the lady who sat next to our table and got the same laksa as us was clearly having trouble with the spiciness as well. Curiously, the staff offered the lady to make the broth less spicy, which the lady politely declined, but it did make me wonder about whether they can make it less spicy for people like us and her who enjoy the flavour but can't handle the broth as it is. All in all a great experience, and we would definitely consider going back.

Whenever I am in Montreal this is a must stop for soup dumplings. All freshly made to order. Taste is amazing.

Really wanted some soup dumplings even with the winter storm happening so went to this place as it was the closest one to our accommodation. Food came out a bit slower than usual but the staff did inform us it might take a bit. Really enjoyed the peanut rolls, the soup dumplings were just okay (I've had better ones). I think it's still pretty decent for the price though.

What a surprise this little dumpling restaurant is! It's just down the street from where we are staying in Le Plateau and it got great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Saturday night at 6:30 and they were pretty full but we were able to get a table right away. They did great business with a steady turnover of tables and a thriving to-go and delivery business. There was just one server and he was super busy but really nice and attentive- my water was always full! Hubs had his first soup dumplings (the shrimp, pork and chive ones everyone raved about in other reviews) and the owner came out and showed him the proper way to eat them! I had the vegetable soup and the mashed potato dumplings which I loved. Their house made chili oil was out of this world and you can actually buy jars of it (which I did). Food is a little slow to come out because all the dumplings are made to order. Talk about fresh! The only thing I didn't love was the side of kimchi that I ordered. It wasn't bad, just not for me. We loved everything else and would absolutely go back!

Food: good! An order of soup dumpling comes with 10. I wanted more after. I wasn't hungry after finishing, but I wasn't fully full either. Service: the guy let me pick where I wanted to sit and he helped me order. I wish that they would have checked in on me after I had received my food. I might have ordered more food then. Ambiance: the place is okay. It's clean and has a lot of seatings.

Ate at Yum Yum because I just happened to be walking by and looked in the window and the food looked amazing. We got the vegetable fried rice, vegetable noodles, and the #39 and #40 dumplings. The friend rice was the best I've ever tasted in my life. Not too salty & very creamy, plus the vegetables were all fresh. I was surprised when the noodles came out and they were crunchy but I ended up loving the dish. Not something I would've tried intentionally but glad we got them because they were delicious. The favorite of all was the mashed potato dumplings! The dumpling dough was perfectly chewy and the potatoes inside were creamy and flavorful. Best of all, the family that runs this place is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Absolute 10/10 experience. So glad I stumbled upon this place and I will be back.

This has been my favorite meal in Montreal. A cozy restaurant with incredible staff. My server took the time to explain the menu to me, and told me their specialty was the soup dumplings. I chose those along with some dim sum. An extremely kind woman came from behind the counter and taught me the proper way to eat the soup dumplings - what a phenomenal experience! Highly, highly recommend. The food was delicious.

Absolutely fuckinf incredible I love it there so much and I got the cucumber salad which I've never had before and I loved that too my friend Megan got a shirt. Keep up the good work staffs awesome

I ordered noodle size #5, and the texture was just so-so--it didn't have the chewiness I was looking forward to, which was a bit disappointing. I also found the beef to be underwhelming. The slices were very thin, which can be nice in some cases, but here they felt a bit lacking in substance and didn't have much texture or flavor. It ended up being just okay and didn't add much to the overall dish. I ordered a medium bowl, but the portion was quite large--definitely more than I expected. A small would have been enough for me, so keep that in mind when ordering. We arrived around 8:30 pm and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The service was pretty good overall, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing.

The Long Version: I love hand pulled noodles, so my husband and I had lunch here. He's not a fan of noodle soups but agreed to come and just have appetizers, lol. I got the small-sized Spicy Mushrooms and Chicken Noodle Soup ($13.99). I chose the #6 size noodles which is the thickest noodles they offer. My husband got the imperial rolls ($4.50 for 3) and the fried shrimp wontons ($11.99 for 10). I really enjoyed my soup, especially the thick noodles. They were chewy and the right amount of softness. There were chicken pieces in it, mushrooms and a delicious "tofu sausage." It also had 2 pieces of baby Bok Choy and some pieces of kelp. I wished there was more vegetables. The soup also had green onions and cilantro. The broth was a tiny bit spicy from the chili oil. I am happy that this soup does not have sesame seeds in it, so I didn't have to ask them to hold the sesame seeds. Lol. My only complaint would be that the broth was a bit too salty and too oily for my tastes. I still thought it was good though. My husband enjoyed his appetizers. The imperial rolls were vegetarian. I didn't have any, but they looked like nothing special to me, haha. However, the hubby liked them which is what matters. The fried shrimp wontons looked good and he liked those too. Service was pleasant and efficient. The decor is casual with some fun touches. I liked the rotating lanterns with lights on the ceiling and the drawings of a big squid and clams on the walls. I would return to try their other noodle soups and also their handmade dumplings. Review #10 (2026)

I was expecting a more flavored experience and maybe that is not what they do or I could have ordered differently. The menu is huge so it is hard to know where to start. We went here because of the good Yelp reviews. Were we arrived in Chinatown there were many other places that looked great, so we loitered at the door for a minute while deciding what to do. As we loitered a family came out and noticed us and asked if were were going to Keung Kee. We said we were thinking about it and they said just go, it is the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sold. We went in, up the stairs, waited a bit, and got a table. This is the kid of place you need to bring a lot of people because that is whet it is built for, the menu is extensive, and the portions are huge. We puzzled over the menu then ordered our food. We wanted a bottle of cold sake and the waiter brought it in an ice bucket. Nice. We started with the pork dumplings. The dumplings were very goof but came in a hot thick sweet peanut sauce. With a lighter sauce these would have been outstanding. The scallop was huge and had a bunch of stuff on it. There was some good scallop flavor but it was masked with all the stuff that tasted like old oil. The noodle dish was good but also had some old oil flavor coming from somewhere. All the meats and vegetables were nice and fresh but the good sauce I think was the source of the oil. We saw a table next to us had the pork chops and was asked, what are those? So we got that too. The chops were thin bone in with a batter fried then soaked in a vinegar sauce. These would have been good as our only item with a bowl of rice. Our co-eaters there had many good looking things. I would give this a try again but would bring a few more people so we could try more stuff. Total for all that including the sake was $100 Canadian. Not bad!
