    Chicken and Mushroom Dumplings

Fresh and amazing! Great quick service and Simple delicious food! It was busy, the food speaks for itself!

These were comparable to Din Tai Fung soup dumplings (but maybe their wrappers were a little less delicate?). We really liked the pork and chives, the shrimp and coriander xiao long baos tasted lighter, and the lamb and coriander soup dumplings were the heaviest but unique. We couldn't stop eating the hot and sour cucumbers, which were both sweet and sour and not too spicy.

Small place. Very busy kitchen. A lot of people. Food delicious !!!! Service was quick. People were waiting outside. Well worth coming here Totally forgot the before pic but this is the after lol

We ordered the juicy pork soup dumplings (very good), pan fried lamb and coriander dumplings (good), spicy cucumbers (great). Service was kind but a bit spotty - food runners brought our food to another table twice. Outdoor dining was nice. Chairs did look more comfortable inside in case that matters.

This is one of many dumpling shops located in Chinatown. It is very busy and this place is quite jam packed. Waited about 15-20 minutes and we were seated. Ordered their pan fried dumplings and Xiao long bao to share. The dumplings tasted A-OK but better with chili oil. Taste wise I'm sure there are other dumpling spots that are equally as good in the area or close by. I would come back if I'm near Chinatown but I don't think I'd go out of my way for these.

Montreal isn't know for their chinese food so it was refreshing to be able to go to Sammi & Soupe Dumpling and try their selections out. The venue itself is really beautiful, walking from the outside you get met with a waiting area and plenty of seating inside with exposure to the kitchen. The staff was incredible attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Food wise, the menu wasn't too large which made it easy to order. Overall I'd say the food went down well and wasn't too greasy. The food had good flavor and my only critique is that it was on the pricier side for the portions - we were still hungry after eating. We decided to get a mix of their signature dishes - pork soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings, and their spicy tofu. The spicy tofu was really cold and refreshing to start out with - it's basically cold tofu with lao gan ma chili oil. The dumplings were filling and the chili sauce is incredible, though I felt the dumplings were on the smaller side. Definitely a go to spot in Montreal's chinatown.

Some of the best dumplings we've ever had. Pork & chives, beef terraki and fried beef and cabbage. Only suggestion - add wine. They have only beer and sake.

Having from NYC, where we have many places from great dumplings, these dumplings are very average. The juicy dumplings were not juicy, and the filling was not tasty. We ordered three kinds of juicy dumplings. I think the classic pork was the best. The lamb and cilantro was gamey, and if you do not like cilantro, don't order this. The worst of all was the pork pan fried dumplings. It might look fancy and authentic from the pan fried, but the pork filling was dry and tasteless. This part was very memorable. How bad it is!!! I couldn't have a second one. Packed it to go but ended up in the trash. The best part of our meal was the peanut butter noodles and spicy oil tiny dumplings. The peanut butter noodles were cold, so it's gave me the refreshing start, plus I like sesame flavor. The spicy oil dumplings were half a biter. Lol. The skin was the best part as it was very soft. I would skip this place if you are looking for good dumplings.

My boyfriend and I wanted the perfect Thanksgiving meal so why not come to have Xiao Long Dumplings :) This place definitely exceed our expectations!! Quality of Food: We ordered Classic Juicy Pork, Juicy Pork & Chives, and Shrimp & Coriander. We were use to Din Tai Fung size which are smaller dumplings so we were quite surprised when we saw how large the dumplings were. Our favorites were Juicy Pork & Chives and Shrimp & Coriander. I would recommend ordering two for a party of two. We ate almost all of them we only had 5 dumplings left. Wait Time & How to Pay: There was a short wait for two, about 15 minutes. When you arrive you let the host know how many and just stand in the lobby until you're directed to your table. When you are done eating you pay at the entrance. We only knew how to pay because we saw others pay when we arrived. The food was amazing and the service was okay! You can tell this spot is where the locals go because everyone knows what to do and how to order. If you're in the area this a MUST :)

Food was excellent! Reasonably priced with good sized portion. It hit the spot on a snowy day!

There was a line for dinner at 6 pm but it moved rather quickly. We waited a bit for someone to come to our table but it was probably less than 10 minutes. Maybe 15 minutes for all our dumplings to come out. We got one order of (10) classic juicy pork xiao long bao, as well as one order each of (15) pork & chive and beef & curry pan-fried dumplings. We scarfed them down, like our fellow diners. This is the classic hole-in-the-wall vibe, but you don't come here for ambiance. It's all about the dumplings. My kid asked as we were eating, "Can we please come back?" There are too many places to eat in Montréal but this place is a contender for a repeat visit!

It is the Labour Day which is the last holiday before the school starts, we went to Montreal in a hot day (38 degrees Celsius) visited Biodôme and Botanical Garden. After, I felt that I need to have some soup dumplings, as a result, my wife and I landed in Sammi. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the Terrasse is very large and spacious. We ordered two famous soup dumplings, along with spicy toufu, wonton soup and cold noodle with peanut butter sauce. I was shocked that the cold noodle was using the spaghetti noodle. This is a restaurant not a community potluck, they should at least make their own needle, a noodle maker is sufficient for this size of restaurant. The soup dumpling is ok, but far from being perfect, the meat filling and the dumpling wrapper need some improvements particularly the pork filling in the soup dumpling is not tasty enough. I am not trying to be very critical here, in fact I would like to see restaurants like Sammi to stay so people in Montreal can have some really good authentic Chinese food. At last I recommend everyone who hasn't been there pleas give it a try, it is a very popular place people line up at the restaurant door waiting to be seated either inside or outside.

Came here on a Saturday around lunch time and got seated right away. My friend and I ordered Xiao Long Bao (classic juicy pork, 10 pcs), pork and cabbage pan fried dumplings (~16 pcs), and a side of hot and sour cucumbers. That was too much food for just two people as we managed to barely finish it all. They were all delicious except the cucumbers were just okay in my opinion.

Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

It looked cool, so I told my parents we'll go on our way back home to Toronto from Quebec City. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, and I'll admit the waiting area isn't the best. When we finally got our table, it was tucked in the corner of the restaurant by the windows. Thankfully it was insulated well despite a cold night. The food concept is pretty unique here, as Southeast Asian cuisine isn't too common overall. We decided to share a bunch of dishes to increase the variety of foods. Pork Belly Steamed Buns - Excellent Laksa Soup with Chicken - Excellent, and I like how they separated the satay on a spoon. Satay Babi - This was an item from their special menu, which is basically satay pork skewers. It was also very good. Fried chicken - Nothing special, could probably skip this. Char kway teow - Very uniquely done. I wasn't expecting clams on it, and it was an excellent addition. Service was also amazing. There are some other dishes that I wasn't able to try, and I would say the uniqueness of this place will entice me to return here.
