Stopped by yesterday to pick some donuts up walked out with sweet bread instead, one carne asada torta and a tamale. The bread was so fresh soft and butter the carne asada torta was huge full of flavor and not shy on the meat portions. Also did I mention it was on $5 dollars!!! So 6 pieces of huge Mexican bread, one torta and one beef tamale which I yet to eat all in total $18 and everything was delicious and fresh. Customer service was great super friendly. I hadn't been to this store in nearly a decade. I wasn't purposely avoiding it though, it was just one of those things. When I did visit (2 days ago) I was wondering why I'd waited this long. I was looking to buy a couple of Bear Claws that a previous store I frequented were out of. When I asked here the guy at the counter said to hold on they were making fresh batch. "Awesome!" I thought and asked for 2 with 2 extra donuts to round out the sale and make for a delicious box of goodies. The delicatessens were still warm and soft (as they should be) after I arrived home. And they were a joy to eat as I shared the wealth with other members of my family. In the past I failed to recognize the greatness that is Yuma's Donuts. I shall not make the same mistake again as I look toward the future. With other donuts and actual meals to look forward to partaking in, I think I've found the cat's meow in the case of donut shops! read more

In town for business meeting and wanted a quick morning donut. Selected a plain old fashion. During my meeting break I decided to chomp on the donut. This sucker had to be months old as it was harder then a week old concrete. The owner's decision to sell something so outdated and assume that no one would notice is not just dishonorable but also terrible business practice. I used to enjoy eating at Yuma donut many years ago. But now, their prices have become outrageous, and their food is not very good. The last time I ate there about 2 years ago, I saw a dead cockroach near the last table, towards the rear of the restaurant. (At least it wasn't a live cockroach). I know I've been all about exploring great places lately and there are no shortage of 5-star reviews from me... they're a dime a dozen these days. But I've only been checking out places at the top of my to-go-to list-- the places that are exceptionally raved about! And this little diner definitely deserves the hype! The location is conveniently close to downtown. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is clearly an oldie but still a goodie- it was packed with different things to buy but still quite charming, in an old school diner kinda way. There is so much food to choose from and I didn't know where to start. So I got an assortment of things, all of which were delicious. The breakfast burrito was huge and paired with the salsa served alongside it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The yeast donut (we tried strawberry sprinkle) was decidedly better than the old fashioned cake style donuts we got (glazed and chocolate covered), but all 3 were still good. The yeast donut was just oh so fluffy and light and fresh... I'll definitely be getting that kind again! The employees that I interacted with were both very nice, especially the lady that refused to let me help clean up the coffee my son spilled everywhere in the restaurant despite my insistence. Gave this place a shot when my sweet tooth acted up. Glad I did. Prices were good, doughnuts were big and tasty, and they had a great selection. My only complaint, if you call it that, is that it would have been nice for the doughnuts to be labeled so I wasn't having to guess what I was getting. This place is the bomb! I'm 9 months pregnant and was craving authentic donuts at a place that stayed opened later and this place freaking delivered and than some!! I went in for donuts, came out with pan dulce, two burritos, a smoothie and half a dozen donuts. All of them were delicious. I'm going to assume the people running the place were the owners and they are so sweet and attentive! This place has the best donuts. I got a half dozen of the yeast, bear claw, apple fritters, and some long Johns. I'm not a big donut person but I ate so many: the apple fritter was perfectly crunchy and soft. The glaze was just enough sweetness not overpowering. But the crisp fried outside and soft fluffy inside were probably why I liked it. The burritos though!!! Yummmmm. On a whim I decided to order the steak burrito. Oh my gosh, YUM! Had a horrible experience and I will not be back. I ordered a dozen donuts and they gave me 11, in that mix of 11 donuts they didn't even put in the ones I asked for, they missed a bunch and put in random donuts. At the same time I ordered a regular bean and cheese burrito thinking it would be quick because it literally consists of two ingredients. We waited for probably about 20 minutes for the burrito. The donuts are so good! I only bought donuts so I can't review about the other food but honestly the menu sounds so good plus it smells amazing when you walk in. The customer service was great, friendly and helpful! I will definitely be going back for more donuts and also to try their tamales and tortas. They also advertise Menudo too! My family and I always come here but last night we had such horrible customer service. Sam (is the name that the worker gave me) dropped the tongs while he was packing the donuts and continued using the same tongs. After I saw him I asked him "didn't those just touch the floors" he rolled his eyes, mumbled and threw the tongs dramatically and grabbed other ones. I asked what did he say and he said "nothing" and he placed the dirty donut back into the case. After that he kept rolling his eyes and stared at me for awhile once I asked him for his name. Now I don't trust the cleanliness of this business if they have a worker like him. Wow, one of the rare times that Yelp is right on a rating. I happened to be in the area and stopped in to get a donut. To my delight, they were excellent. Fresh, tender and perfectly coated with glaze. As I was buying those I saw the crock pot on the counter with fresh simmering tamales so got 3 of those too. They were also great. Good flavor, tender, lots of flaked beef, like coating. Really good eats for a good price. I will be back very soon. Only next time I will try some of the other mexican items. read more

So I've been here a few times for the tortas. TORTAS? At a donut shop? Yup. Pretty decent. A perfect lunch. Never seen this place crowded.
