I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I came in for a gel manicure while going through an incredibly difficult time, I flew in from Seattle to the valley for the passing of my brother, and I just needed a small moment to take care of myself. Frank and Christine showed such genuine compassion when I shared what I was going through, they looked up and helped me choose a beautiful set of "funeral nails". Beyond that, everything about the salon is wonderful, the space is beautiful and clean, the energy is calm, and the prices are very fair. It was my first time at Yume Nails, and I'm honestly so happy I found this place after searching for somewhere I'd feel comfortable going to. Parking was super easy, which already made the experience stress-free from the start. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The receptionist who was also my nail tech was so kind, offered me water, and never once made me feel rushed or pressured to upgrade anything. That meant a lot to me. I'm so happy to have found Yumé Nail Lounge! I've come here every month since. It's the most beautiful nail shop I've seen and it's so clean. The waiting area looks like lounge seating with a tv and a nice mural. First time I came I got a mani pedi and my daughter got a mani. We were both very satisfied. After seeing how nice another customer's nails looked I came back two weeks later for a full set and Kristin did not disappoint! I literally get compliments all the time. Very disappointing & uncomfortable experience. After paying for a gel x set that turned out terrible, I was told by Frank to come back and a new set would be provided and I would be happy. When I returned for that appt, they made me wait 45 minutes past my scheduled time with no apology or explanation. Once I finally got seated for my "new set" Kristen had a very nasty unprofessional attitude and didn't speak a word. I was treated like an inconvenience rather than a paying loyal client they had asked to return. Most concerning, the promised correction was not honored, instead of a new set as discussed, they only did a quick file and color change. Warning, if they ask you to return to fix their mistake, you should not be made to feel like a problem or receive a lesser service than what was promised. Unfortunately, that was my experience and considering I've brought them clients because they are new, they now lost me and the other clients i referred. read more

She is top tier at doing nail designs, always on top of the latest tends. I don't even have to ask, I just let her do whatever she wants and my nails are always FIRE! She just opened up this new spot with a friend and even though she's FARTHER away from me now (I live in Sunland) I'll still drive to her only. I'm a ER nurse, I'm hard on my nails, I can easily go for 6 weeks without breaking nails (might lose a few stones, but the nails stay strong!) This may be a lengthy review but I really think this is a great salon that can succeed greatly with a few changes, therefore I have a few recommendations after my recent visit. Things I loved: The staff was so friendly and personable. They created conversation that went past the normal "salon talk", it felt like I wasn't just another client. The salon is clean and they have a beautiful couch and large TV you can sit on while you wait. They provided water bottles and also have massage settings on the pedicure chairs. Recommendations/Concerns: 1. My sister and I were both burned by the water because they told us to put our feet in and then started the water. I'm not talking about warm water, the water was scalding. It happened to both of us. So I'm not sure if the water heater is really good or just our bad luck. I think if the wrong person is burned, this could create a bad situation. We understand that accidents happen and it wasn't on purpose, but someone else may not. Having clients wait before telling them to sit & making sure the water is a safe temperature for skin is my recommendation for this. This was my literal first impression service wise, so it threw me off a little. 2. The procedure of the pedicure is inconsistent between the different nail techs. The lady that did my pedicure did not clean up my cuticles. But the other tech that did my sisters did. She rubbed lotion on my legs and feet and that was as far as a massage went. The other tech gave my sister a lower leg and foot massage. I also asked her to just file my toe nails straight and she took the angled nipper to my big toe and made it crooked. When filing my gel off, she nicked me more than a few times. 3. This salon doesn't have a large selection of colors. I think a bigger selection of staple nail polish colors would be beneficial. For example staple DND colors & OPI colors. 4. For up charges, the customer should be informed BEFORE the service is provided. My sister's big toe was chipped so she said to him "Do your best and just file it straight." He took it upon himself to fix her nail with an acrylic paste and when we went to pay, the owner told us it was a $10 up charge. We were caught off guard because the tech never informed her about this up charge. When we said this, the owner told said, "theres usually a standard $5 fee for broken nails". Again, caught us off guard cause he was just assuming we knew that, which we didn't. He did remedy the situation a little and just charged her $5 vs $10 for the confusion. read more
