I'm really sad to be writing this. I've been going to this nail place for literally a decade. Today was the first day that I was dissatisfied. The ladies doing me and my daughters pedicures were talking about us (we know enough Spanish to get the high points). But worse, the person who did my nails poorly shaped them and cut me several times. I told the owner how disappointed I was - first time complaining in ten years- and he was like oh well I'll get you next time, and still charged us $185 for two nails sets (my daughters was messed up too) and average pedicures, no designs etc. I sadly need to find a new place now, the vibe was completely off. read more

terrible job on my nails. the owner selected two different people want to do my toes and want to do my nails. I had gel polish on and they would not let it be removed with a buffer so my nails are scratched and ruined for months so my real nails all they do is crack and break from all these scratches they put in my nails. this is later and I go to real salon so I know I was out of town and needed to get my nails done. Awful customer service. Had 3 appts at 1:00 and had to wait 1/2 hr. Saw other patrons coming in with no appt and getting service before me. Brought my daughter and her friend. They had wait even longer! Luckily they finally had technicians who knew what they were doing. I think my technician was having a bad first day. She cut my skin, my toe bled. She polished my toenails as well as a 5 year old could. She used her own thumbnail to clean my cuticles. Gross. I opted not to get my manicure after! Horrible experience! My niece n I went in for pedicure n manicure for my birthday photo shoot. We got there close to 6pm,Friday 24th March As soon as we entered ,the male owner asked what we wanted done,we chose our nail polish n sat down for the pedicure , The owner said something and all the workers looked at us n started giggling Actually my foot was in the water , that really made me angry n uncomfortable.One of girls came over to clean my finger nails and was rushing me ,I stopped her immediately n told her if she can't wait till my toe nails are done for me to sit in the manicure table like everyone she shouldn't bother! I've been going to Yumi for 8+ years. I moved out of monroe several years ago and still drive a half hour plus to come to Yumi to get my nails done. They do your nails with care, it's clean, they offer free food quality massages and always do a great job! They have powder gel (which I have noticed is hard to find at other places) and they also do eye brows too. They have a rewards program which is also great too and the staff is always warm and welcoming. I'm a big fan. read more

First time visiting Yumi nails... Visiting from California and I wanted to treat myself to my first mani/pedi in 8 months! I called ahead and was excited that they could immediately accommodate me. When I arrived, I was pleased to see that safety protocols were all in place. I was asked to sanitize my hands at the door, and the station where I was seated was surrounded by hanging plastic. Everyone was wearing a mask. I felt that everything was safe and clean, and there were maybe two other clients in the salon. So far, so good! I got a gel pedicure along with a full set of acrylic tips. Gloria finished my nails with an ombré French dip powder manicure. I had shown the technician a picture of the color and shape I wanted, and she did a great job. Tina did a great job with my lavender spa pedicure. It included a full 10-minute massage. Extremely pleased with the service - it was a relaxing experience and just what I needed. Highly recommend Yumi Nails and hope they continue to thrive despite the challenges with the pandemic. read more

My manicure came out absolutely horrible and lopsided so after complaining to the owner (which I've never done before so I was so nervous) she was angry but let me get them re done without charge. They came out eh-but the tech was rushing so much to take the previous polish off that she DESTROYED my cuticles. All cut up, burning and bleeding and I ended up getting scabs. I went here in May to get my acrylic tips removed and get a normal manicure. I will say that I was seen immediately without an appointment and that the woman who did my nails was very polite. However, the manicure was horrible. She did not remove all of my acrylic tips like I asked for. I noticed when I left that SEVERAL of my nails still had tips on them. Instead of completely removing the tips, they left some nails with them on and just painted over them. This led to the remaining tips pulling up and ruining the paint/manicure. I won't be going back to this place ever again. Note: I was asked where I was from by a man that looked like a manager while I was getting my nails done. Not sure what that was about. I tried Yumi nails mostly because it was nearby/on the way to another appointment. I'd heard others raving that it was the best place in town, etc. My nails were in pretty bad shape (I'd waited too long) from my last set of UV gel nails. So in wanted to get a quick gel polish to let them heal and grow. The end result was okay, I guess. There was a long, 3 person discussion about my nails that went on for about 5 minutes. I had no idea what they were saying but it was unsettling and weird. Then the technician just started working on my nails. She seemed annoyed about it. And the prices are higher than other places in town... Why? It not a nicer, cleaner place, the service is not as good. I don't get it. The polish was good for about 6 days. Then the chipping and cracking started and my cuticles were in shreds. That's never happened to me. Not horrible overall, but I don't know why people rave about this place. I've had a far better experience at Coco nails. They are incredibly nice, helpful, kind, and talented with fair prices. read more

So I booked a last minute appointment here. I got a mani-pedi & it was SO GREAT. I loved the pedicure. Literally no complaints there. It was definitely much needed. Yumi nails is great. They're super attentive & I had no complaints the entire time I was there. I paid $37 (pre too) for a basic mani-pedi. Definitely recommend this place!! Everyone is nice! I used to live coming here but today I went to get a mani/pedicure and told the guy if they were busy I'd come back bc I only had an hour. He sat me and then I waited for 20min. I questioned if I'd have enough time and they kept saying yes but I kept seeing the time dwindle down. When they still didn't polish when I had 10 min left they told me that I'd be fine if I wore the disposable flip flops when I left...OUT IN THE SNOW!. I said forget the polish so they went to finish my feet with the hot stone and burnt me leaving a mark! Saw great reviews and was told by many to come here. It was my first time ever getting tips put on and a friend of mine and I decided to go together. She needed a new place and a new set of nails, so it was a good opportunity. We walked in at 10 AM. We didn't have appointments, but we went early figuring we could wait if we had to, we were flexible and it wasn't a big deal if we had to wait or were turned away. When we walked in, my friend told the girl who greeted us what we wanted and she looked at us very puzzled. She didn't seem to understand, so my friend clarified and said we wanted fake nails put on, and the girl turned and started talking to everyone else very quickly and clearly about the two of us. Then she laughed and pointed at chairs and told us to sit down. It made me feel like I had done something wrong and I was very uncomfortable. We sat and waited for about 15 minutes. There were about 6 employees milling around and one girl was working on a pedicure for someone else, but other than that we were the only other customers. They never came over to us or talked to us, and after feeling very unwelcome for that long, I suggested to my friend that we go somewhere else. As we left, they just said "Sorry." No explanation of why they were ignoring us, and no apparent regret. Awful customer service, super rude. I went down the street to Coco Nails and was treated fantastically and have a great set of tips for my first time. So go there instead and stay away from this place. read more

First off, the color selection is SO good - wide variety of colors that are well organized by color and brand (similar to a higher end nail salon I go to in Westport). The pedicure process was very relaxing as well as the mani. The lady doing my nails was very sweet. She took her time and made sure I loved them. So so overpriced and terrible experience overall. I usually get a powder gel manicure for no more than $40 and here it was $60. They also do not refill which is extremely strange. My husband bought a gift certificate for my birthday. He asked for 2 pedicures & asked to include the tip. Jason, the owner, gave him a $50 gift card. I went today with my daughter. When I went to pay they told me cash only for the tip I explained how my husband boughgt the giftcard with the tip included and they said cash only. So I said, "well this is all I have." Of course she comes back and tells me "my boss said it was okay." SO we sat there and waited for our massages while our toes dried. We watched Jason and the other massage guy finish up the massages they were giving and walk around ignoring us. They then sat someone at the drying station in front of me and proceded to give her her massage. I asked where the oil was for our toes and Jason the owner just pointed to it. The girl who did my nails was lovely and really paid attention to detail. I'm giving a two star review due to the owner. He charged me 15$ more than I was quoted. He said it was an extra ten for the ombré (which was one of the gel powder options that came with the 35$ quote) which came with a sparkly top coat. I didn't want the sparkle but the manicurist recommended I at least did my ring fingers. He charged me an extra five for the sparkly ring finger!
