First off, it was so hot inside with obviously no AC running. We had to eat as fast as possible because my baby overheated and we were sweating profusely. Pretty sure only one person working there doing every part (taking orders, cooking, etc). The menu is also somewhat incorrect (I.e. a drink actually does not come with the burger). Foodwise, the burger was tasty. The eggplant taco was pretty flavorless. This review is for their takeout breakfast tacos. Normally we get our tacos from One Taco as it is close to the office. Today we were gifted with Yummis tacos. Never heard of Yummis but I'm pleased to report that their breakfast tacos come in as a strong 4-star! These are definitely Mexican street tacos served in a double-wrapped corn tortilla with salsa, cilantro, and onions. Corn tortillas are an option. My pork taco was perfect. I have had other pork tacos and the meat texture was dry to hard. This was not the case with my Yummi taco. Check out their menu as Yummis is more than a breakfast joint. I came in Thanksgiving week to pick up something for myself and my ride before heading into my surgery. Pre-surgery eats Kimchi fries Oh where do I start, the Kimchi for these fries weren't fresh which was such a let down as the kimchi is to be the star of this dish. The bulgogi for this dish was extremely oily so much so that all that could be tasted on this dish was the cooking oil. This dish was tossed. Chicken Burrito The store bought HEB tortillas wasn't the let down of this dish if you can believe it. It was the dried out chicken meat and lifeless veggies that were a real miss for me. I had to come back again since the first experience was great. Ordered a simple banh mi chicken sandwich under $7 and in my opinion, still a great value. This is my 2nd Vietnamese sandwich and I am Vietnamese. The bread is crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. The chicken is marinated in some broth so when you bite into the sandwich, it's not dry and it's a flakey chicken meat bite with a little bit of soy sauce and tang. The binder is the creamy mayo sauce so with one bite, you get the freshness of the vegetables, the pickled carrots and daikons are nice. In my opinion, I would like for them to be more pungent with vinegar but they are tame for the masses. I like the touch of white onions and lettuce, normally those are not inside but it's a nice addition. I love the chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeños, and boyyyyyy, they did not skimp out on the meat and vegetables. This is how a Vietnamese sandwich could and should be. Imagine if they added pate, man that would make this sandwich on another level. Very satisfied for under $7. Pro tip, ask for hot sauce togo. The menu has a lot going on and you definitely see that they have variety. They also have two vegetarian options, the tofu and eggplant. I had the eggplant taco, spicy pork burrito and the egg and steak breakfast taco. My friend had the chicken bahnmi. Eggplant taco- I was not a huge fan of it. It was a bit too moist and it just felt like you were biting into mush. I think if they maybe fried the eggplant, I believe it would definitely taste better but it its just kinda mushy. A little flavor but it was aight. Spicy Pork Burrito- Definitely was not what I expected. It was really dry. I recommond getting this if you want something really dry. They had beans but it was not enough. I would not recommend this one . Steak and Egg taco- This is mainly bulgogi. Out of all the food I got, I liked this one the best cause how can you mess breakfast. You get the egg, potatos and bulgogi. I was pleasantly surprised about the affordability of the meals and the portion sizes were also surprisingly larger than expected. trying the taco first I quickly realized my previous judgment based on appearance missed the mark the beef was juicy and well-seasoned with an almost sweet after-taste, the salsa added a light and fresh spice too. the eggs were sadly overshadowed by the beef but still had a presence. the bulgogi burger on the other hand left more to desired as the same seasoning was used as the stake and egg tacos although it did not taste bad, I was hoping to have some more variety in flavor. as for the chicken banh mi, it had a different blend of flavor compared to the two beef items I had, but overall, it was a rather forgetful item. the taro milk tea had a standard taste to others I've have but was refreshing enough to enjoy it for its price range. The meat for both was wet and mushy with a weird texture, like paper mache falling apart.. I'm happy that they loaded veggies on (albeit it was mostly white cabbage) but I really only finished them because I was starving. The flavor for both was also absolutely lacking. No sign of garlic or lemongrass?? Just confused. I was eyeing the banh mi but now don't know if I'd come back to try anything else. A family-owned hidden gem in northwest Austin! The small shop looks really unassuming, but they sell a good variety of Asian fusion food. I really enjoy eating their beef bulgolgi tacos- there's a good amount of flavorful meat and they top it off with their spicy mayo. I also enjoy their curries and it's a great deal bc it's only $7. Service is always really great! Only downside is that they close at 6pm most evenings as they are more of a lunch spot, so be sure to keep that in mind. read more

Yummi kept popping up on Yelp with great reviews. So I had to try them out myself. For a Saturday lunch I drove down and found it with no issues. It is in a little strip mall. The inside had a few tables and booths. You order at the counter. Standing at the counter while looking at the menu, I was struck how inexpensive their food was. So I ordered a beef banh mi, shrimp rolls, and a Greek taco. For me, that is a lot of food. Since I am a lover of shrimp, I dove into the shrimp rolls first. Basically they are shrimp wrapped in a won ton wrapper and fried. Addictive appetizer, I could eat these all day long. Next up was the beef banh mi, it was filled with the usual banh mi vegetables. The beef was tender and full of flavor. The Greek taco was held until dinner. I didn't bother to reheat it and the cold taco still blew me away. They did not skimp on the feta either. The price of the three items came to $10.50. Very reasonable. If this place was closer to where I live, guarantee I would be there weekly. read more

I love this place. It's a small restaurant, but a hidden gem for me. Their banh mis are inexpensive ($5) yet filling and delicious. Their signature is definitely the rising sun burrito. It includes rice, fries, bulgogi, and veggies; basically everything inside the burrito is amazing separately so when it's combined, it's even better than what you expect!
