Casual, ready-to-grab and eat, Korean fare. I've stopped in at various hours and almost always there's a least one of each dish selection ready to go. My favorites are the beef bulgogi (in any form) and chicken bibimbap. The dosirak (bento) tend to have a larger serving. The bibimbap a little lighter lunch. The gimbap is also excellent, much more fresh than those at H-mart. The owner's are great folks, too! Very friendly and happy to recommend a dish. There's a few tables and seats if prefering to dine in. Parking is ample. read more

I got here a few times and usually in the evening. The only part of going in the evening is that they can run out of food, so be careful coming later in the evening. I like that it is part convenience store and packs food ready to be served. There are even 2 small tables there if you want to just eat there as well. I had a few dishes there and they were great. I got a pork bowl before and the pork was great flavor and was tender. I am hoping to visit again and try to get other dishes to try. read more

I visited this shop several times during their pop-up events. Today, I called to ask about the line and whether the bread might still be available. Unfortunately, the owner wasn't very helpful and couldn't give any indication of how many bread was being sold or whether it was likely to sell out.I ended up driving about 30 minutes from Central Austin, only to find that the salted bread from the pop-up was already sold out. That was really disappointing. When I went inside the store to buy some regular items instead, the interaction with the owner was also frustrating. He seemed to misunderstand what I was asking and kept directing me to stand in the pop-up line, even though I explained multiple times that I just wanted to purchase items from the store, which didn't require waiting in that line. In the end, I bought a few small items, but three small items came out to about $20, which felt overpriced for what I received. The overall service experience was not pleasant. The owner came across as rude and unwelcoming, and it didn't feel like customers who made the effort to come support the business were being valued. I understand this is a small, local mom-and-pop shop, and I usually love supporting small businesses. However, customer service still matters--especially when people travel a long distance to visit. Talk about a hidden spot. This a good place to go if you spent too much of your lunch break at the Five Below store and need something quick. When you walk in, you're greeted with a cool DIY Ramen making station if you desire. To the left you've got cold items and to the right you've got pre-made hot items to go. There were so many unique yummy items that were calling out to me on but I had to turn them down, can't get them all. I feel like maybe the time of day I was there, there were less items on the shelves than in the pictures online. But for sure was able to find something to hit the spot. I picked the beef bimbimbop which was so nice. Protein, carbs, and fresh veggies. Wham bam thank you m'am. It was nice and refreshing and I feel still healthy. Finally!! A grab and go that I can actually GO back to!!! I wanted to grab dinner quickly but refused to buy fast food. I finally tried Purple Rice and I'm in awe. The inside is so clean and we'll organized. The warm items are kept separate from items that are kept cold. This is why this works! This is why the food is so fresh and good. The program is definitely understood . This method keeps the integrity of the dish! When I got home, it taste as if I went to a restaurant. I ordered the bibimbap with beef bulgogi. A sauce came with it as well. Everything was so fresh and good. The beef was good quality and not super fatty. The veggies were crisp and well kept. I liked the beef gimbap quite a bit. The rice was pretty fresh and wasn't hard and the beef was seasoned well. I also tried the ube crispy treat but the ube flavor was not that strong. I think their sides are reasonably priced but I thought that their hot meals and gimbap were a it pricey. read more

Came in to pick up some quick lunch and got the beef bulgogi bibimbap bowl with some tteokbokki. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I came in with some hope that it was as good as everyone says it is and it truly was. I had tried coming another time but they were sold out of almost everything and one of the workers really wanted to help me get something I decided just to come back. It is definitely a grab and go place I do believe they might have had some seating but not a lot or enough for a big party. Prices were amazing and the quality was so good. I am not Korean nor a coinsure of Korean food, I am, however, a very adventurous eater having lived on 4 continents and eaten street food to Michelin star, the flavor profiles are just really weird. More of a teriyaki flavor than anything with onions, broccoli, and very dry rice. Absolutely nothing independently or together tasted good. I diced everything up and put it with eggs to make it eatable vs tossing it to the raccoons, but even at that it was not great and eggs can fix almost anything. read more

This place was so good! I got delivery from it, and ordered the mayak eggs, and it was so delicious. Apparently in Korean mayak means drug. Those eggs are addictive! It caused me to then start making my own marinated eggs. Galbi is also really good. read more

So glad to hear of another Korean restaurant opening in Austin and it was a fair bit closer to me than any of its competitors. I showed up today as part of their soft open and have to say that I'm tentatively impressed. It's primarily grab-n-go as you can tell from the photos, a lot of warmers with pre-made soups and dosiraks, which are like Korean lunch bentos, and a cooler with drinks and and takeaway soups. Everything was in a purple and white color scheme which made me think kawaii and they even had merch ready. In the immediate center was a little dessert table with samples of their Ube rice krispie treat and their Pumpkin Spice rice krispie treat, both of which were tasty, but they came in a tray and not individually wrapped. Behind that were a couple of different stations with induction burners but that was closed off. I ended up getting their ready made yukgaejang and their brisket doenjang and two little dishes of the eponymous rice. I liked the yukgaejang bettter, it was clean but still had that heartiness. The owner came by and chatted a little bit, she was just as kawaii as her store. She explained the stations are for cooking demos and classes but she didn't want to do that on the first day since she was so nervous. She definitely fit the vibe of the place: warm, friendly and open. She came back with a couple of small banchans when I decided to use one of their two tables to stay and eat. Been wanting to review this place. Went to their soft opening and got a ton of stuff and was so excited to try them all! Everything looked so good and we wanted to sample everything! Across from Mighty Fine and Chipotle and right off Mopac too! So convenient. Especially for grab and go concept. We even did a little picnic outside where there are tables by the parking lot. So fun! I bought a few for our college son and his roomie and girlfriend too. It's perfect for college kids. Easy to heat up. It's great for working people too. Grab and go! A lovely local mom and pop store to pop in and get my Korean comfort eats like I'm going to a family friend's place when I'm in the area! I love the bento assortment and the banchan sides that are readily available for purchase and consumption! The purple rice in our hot warm rice bowls were tasty, and the spicy pork bento was delicious. I also really loved the pickled beets - and look forward to trying the kimbap next time. Seems like a solid place and super convenient if you work in the area for a quick bite. I grabbed some chicken dosirak ($14) after a gym session so I could have lunch the next day and it was pretty tasty! This is a grab and go spot and they've got some decent options. It was a bit slim pickings when I went late last night but still managed to get some goodies. If you're a vegetarian/vegan, I'm sorry to say I didn't see much you could eat here. It is a bit pricier than what you'd get from a grocery store but you are paying for ready to eat goods. They had some samples for their ube Rice Krispies and Korean tuna pasta salad. The tuna pasta salad was tasty and would be great for a lighter lunch with some crackers or a bag of Korean chips. The cashier was friendly and the place was clean! So many side options as well to go with your main dish and of course my all time fav, JOLLYPONG! The options are limitless and can rotate from what I remember the owner saying. We randomly came here during some shopping in the area on their opening day and we did get here a little later in the day so most of the options had run out but that was no issue as we still got to try some really great options. Their side options are plenty and you may go crazy picking them from the fridges. The staff was super friendly and the owner seemed just as excited for it as we were. Stopped by purple rice around 1:30 PM and it looks like they had a busy day so there was only a few dishes left, but I was still able to get a variety of things. I talked to the owner and they do cook twice a day to replenish their stock. They mainly do this to keep their foods fresh and high-quality. I tried the bibimbap, kimbap, chicken stew, beef bone soup, and a variety of their banchan. They make everything in house, including all of the sauces. The prices are pretty reasonable too. They are located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. This is considered a grab and go concept, but they do have a few tables inside where you can eat as well. Judging by the name I figured I'd be in for a treat. My first experience is through catering where we had a variety of bulgogi, pancake, purple rice, sweet potato noodles, and other delicious items. It's was easy to place the order and they even have options for the no meat eaters. I had some to go and the food reheats well. The owners were extremely welcoming and gave us some Rice Krispie ube and pumpkin spice treats to go with our meals.. there are hot and cold stations where you choose- I got a traditional bibimbap from the hot section where they posted a nice note saying remember to get the cold veggies from the cold container. I assembled all my dishes in the restaurant and ate it while chatting with the owners. There were tables inside and out to sit and eat or take yours home. This is an amazing little mom n pop shop for quick grab and go korean deliciousness. I always love stopping by when I'm in the area, because not only is the food delicious and ready to go, but the owners are so dang sweet! I've had numerous things from them and I love all the side dishes to go with them. Their bulgogi is definitely some of the best I've had in Austin and so authentic! Place has some potential however everything I got as crazy sweet! The raw pork I made in the air fryer and while it was good it was SO sweet. Where is the spicy? I bought spicy pork not sweet pork. The potatoes were good but again so SWEET and also needed to be cooked for a few minutes longer. The eggs were good too but inconsistently cooked as 2 were jammy and 2 were hard boiled. I feel like the portion sizes are a bit small for the prices they are charging. Also there wasn't much product on the shelves and displays cases. Id like to see some more stuff for sure. Stopped in 40 minutes before they closed on a Saturday and the store was a bit picked over which was sad, but I was still able to grab the brave spicy tofu and cucumber kimchi from the cold case and snag the Karean pork spicy Bulgogi bowl. Heard a lot of good things. I was really excited to get home and try. I was not disappointed The rice was perfectly cooked. Not dry or hard or overcooked. I am so happy that we have a great Korean grab and go up North. I came on a Saturday afternoon and the store was empty surprisingly. It was super clean and I appreciated the organization and layout. There was a great selection of items and I was a huge fan of the banchan options. The Korean braised potatoes and potato salad were delicious!! And the tofu pockets were also yummy and I loved that there were different flavor options.
