Squeezed in a congested shared parking lot with other businesses, Yummy Expressed is easily spotted by the bold blue awning. Inside, it has a potent fermented smell but if you can get over that, you'll notice to the right of the entrance, a Vietnamese sandwich station, and two tables in front of the cashier are boxed or wrapped prepared food and to the left, multiple fried items and a soda machine. Eggrolls- I think they were $1 for 2. I really couldn't understand the young lady when I asked what the price was. They were really fresh, crunchy and the filling was pretty good. Summer Rolls- I hate when a place use cheap and flimsy wraps because once I touched these, they opened up and the fillings were everywhere. The shrimp was not fresh at all and I'm not a fan of those fish sauces that didn't added any other ingredients like lime juice into it break up that intense taste. Vermicelli w/ Shrimp & Vietnamese Ham- There were lots of noodles stuffed in there but the ratio of shrimp and ham was not good. Three bites in and you're left with a container with just noodles. Overall Service: Expect strange stares and awkward silence unless they are talking loudly to one another. After my purchase, I notice they had smoothies and asked if they were made with real fruits and the young lady said nodded, and then I looked over and saw containers of powders. Needless to say, I walked right out.

Yummy Express is a small take out Asian deli/mini market in Lowell. Its right in the heart of Cambodia town and on the entryway to the neighborhood. For someone who has no access to Cambodian food this is a jem. Where can I find these unique foods and flavors in my state of Maine? Not easily and likely not at all. So we tried some of the premade take out items : a bun with ground pork filling, a small pint of fermented rice porridge, spring rolls with shrimp, beef and pork. Super good maybe a little pricey but with inflation today it is what it is. They had a sandwich bar where they would prepared for you but we didn't get a chance to try them.

Surprisingly this place has become my go to spot for banh mi. I used to go to hong cuc all the time for my banh mi but ever since they moved to their new spot their sandwiches hasn't been the same. Yummy express offers a lot of varieties of asian food from sandwiches, to soups, to vermicelli noodles plate, spring rolls, bubble tea, and desserts. I only gave them a 4 stars because their soups isn't the best but good enough for some quick food if you're lazy to cook. I never had a problem with their services always quick and I'm out the door just a little small for a lot people to go in at once just have to be a quick in and out.

Not quite sure why Yelp has this listed as closed when in fact I was in this very shop earlier today. I've also been back to this shop for their tasty sandwiches numerous times over the past months. With many other Vietnamese Sandwich shops within the area, I can honestly say that this one is my 2nd favorite place to stop in. Located in a parking lot in one of Lowell's busiest districts, Yummy Express makes some pretty darn good business and also dishes out some of the best sandwiches around. The sandwiches here, although they are of Vietnamese origin, are made with a unique Cambodian flavor, not quite sure what it is exactly but by tasting it you can easily tell the difference. Big fan of the subs they got going on here, fine cuts of meat and fresh ingredients are put on every sub. Their cold cut combo comes packed with different kinds of meats and fresh crunchy fermented carrots that compliment each other. They also put this special sauce blend on each cold cut sub which also gives it that extra kick, again not quite sure what its made of exactly but it tastes pretty darn good. Their BBQ sandwich here is also a killer, marinated BBQ beef on a freshly toasted french baguette with fresh veggies on top, add that with a side of bubble tea and BAM! Instant tasty, inexpensive lunch. Prices here are fairly cheap with subs ranging from $2 - $3 each. They also serve numerous flavors of bubble tea and other local dishes, ready to be served for takeout such as spring rolls with dipping sauce, Hot pot, Ethnic stews and sweet desserts and treats from Southeast Asia. Servers here speak mostly Cambodian but can easily scrap together some English to get your order right. Good eats, cultural and inexpensive, grab a bubble tea on the side and you're good to go.

So to be honest I really only like there egg rolls. The pricing keeps raising which upsets me because the portion is small.

Papaya salad! Yes please!…read more Stopped by for dinner from our trip to New Hampshire because we were craving some Cambodian cuisine. The restaurant is very spacious and the staff is very friendly. We were quickly seated on Sunday night and we were overwhelmed with the entree options because the picture menu was huge! We finally decided on a papaya salad, the spicy chicken with veggies and sauteed watercrest. The portions were a good size and everything tasted really good. I really liked the papaya salad because we ordered it spicy and it came packed with a spicy flavor. The papaya tasted fresh and we enjoyed eating with the big green leaves. The spicy chicken was also very good and it tasted great over white rice. We had a great meal and had leftovers to take home.

Oxtail Noodle Soup (6/10): The soup was a bit unbalanced in terms of flavors. It also tasted a bit one-dimensional (too much fish sauce). The oxtail was decently good. Beef Loc Lac (7.5/10): This was my favorite dish of the night. Crispy and tender! Flavor was delicious. Seafood Fried Noodles (4/10): I don't recommend ordering this. The fried noodles on the outside were fine, but it was a soggy mess on the inside. That would be acceptable if the sauce were good, but the sauce wasn't good either. Also, bear in mind that you will barely get any seafood with this dish. You'll get a few large pieces of imitation crab and like 2 shrimp. I like imitation crab, but just be warned. Service was very good.

It has a few parking spaces up front and we had no problem getting one during lunch time on a saturday. This place is pretty big and I love that they didn't try to cram as many tables as possible in there. The staff are friendly and wheel out your food on carts vs carrying them on serving trays. The decor and presentation of the restaurant is very clean and modern. - unlike most other places in the area. We've tried other cambodian restaurants in lowell and they don't compare to the ambiance and vibes of Simply Khmer. I'd venture to say other places are very mom and pop style, and almost ghetto compared to this place. The food: Hot wings - are a must order! It looks like there are variations as others come with peppers or other stuff, mine only came with sauce. Based on yelp photos, seems like its hit or miss what you get? Still, tastes great. Crispy but not overcooked and the sauce is amazing. It's not too spicy either. Crispy egg rolls - they were fine but I'd skip these. They are tiny but you get 5. There is no meat so inside is mushy, but the outside is fried perfectly crisp. The soup Kuy Tiew Special - it's just basic pho soup with beef balls, fish cakes and greens. Tastes fine if you want some soupy noodles, but nothing that stands out. Still enjoyable if thats what you're after. My waitress didn't tell us the specials but I kept overhearing the male waiter tell everyone today's specials and I heard about their new chicken skin. I ordered it to try. They are thin and crispy and half the plate is pickled veggies and some jalapenos. The chicken skin is light and airy, fried crispy with some light seasoning. Worth a try at least once. overall, this is one of the more popular places in Lowell for cambodian food and I can see why. I'm looking forward to my next trip back here. Food quality is good, service is friendly, parking was easy and it was not too far off from the main highway.
