I just love coming here. And I usually get the same thing, but this time, we tried their chicken wings and it was perfectly fried, light batter and delicious. Ordered the pork chop with rice snd barbecue duck and it came with beef broth, that beef broth was the soooo good. Dined here a few times during my recent visit to Lowell. I wouldn't say what I had here is the best I have ever had but it's certainly decent considering the volume of patrons these guys serve daily. Each time we dined in, the restaurant was at capacity which tells me this restaurant must be a local favorite. The menu offers a variety of noodle and rice dishes including signature Khmer dishes that are made in just about every Cambodian family household (curries, papaya salad, rice porridge, etc.). It's a good choice if you're in the mood for some quick Khmer influenced food. It gets packed for lunch so prepare yourselves if you're short on time. read more

In the center of Lowell's Cambodia-town, a restaurant that looks tiny from the outside but is actually quite roomy. Bustling crowd on a weekend lunch. Our official server didn't know the menu too well and was a little unmotivated, but the manager sensed this and stepped in often to fill the void. Pleasant overall vibe. Papaya Salad: One of the best restaurant dishes in terms of flavor (high) to fat (low) ratio, it's crunchy and tart and, depending on where you get it, can also be salty, funky, sweet, and/or spicy. It can differ among the cuisines--it's a staple in Thai, Cambodian, and Lao food--as well as among the restaurants within that cuisine. This one delivered the crispness and kept the remaining characteristics in perfect balance, with the heat set to a constant tingle to accelerate the overall flavor rather than overpower it. If my other favorite Cambodian rendition at Peephuptmei (at the other end of the same street) is the papaya salad equivalent of The Who, this one was more New York Philharmonic. Both are virtuoso presentations. Roasted Quail: The name is a little deceiving, because this quail is fried, but other than that, no complaints at all. You get five to an order and you can feel like a he-man taking an entire quail into your hand and having your way with it. You don't see the seasonings, but they are there, and it even tastes a little like bacon. Very crisp outside, juicy inside, and no dipping sauce needed at all. Beef Loc Lac: Basically, this is steak tips, Cambodian style. Not bad, but the version here is a little less exciting than some others around town. Good crispness, okay tenderness and flavor. Lemongrass Chicken: This is a tough one to find on the menu, because the menu is a little confusing, but with enough pointing and asking you can get this chicken dish which I think is the equivalent of Cha Kroeung Sach Moun at Simply Khmer. Coated in a yellow paste that I believe has lots of lemongrass. Don't take my word for it, but good luck getting a full description out of the server. Whatever it is, it's pretty good, and goes well with the white rice. BBQ Duck: You can get the roast duck, which comes unsauced, or the BBQ duck, which is lightly covered in sauce that complements the poultry. This was crispy even under the sauce, tender, juicy, and very enjoyable. Would get it again in a heartbeat. read more

There's parking in the front or the back, but the plaza is sometimes so busy it's hard to find parking. We went as a group of 7 and the workers were very attentive. There is a slight language barrier if you don't speak Khmer but the workers are very patient and thorough to make sure you get what you ordered. I got the Lort cha which smelled and tasted really good. Everybody else got their own dishes like meekathung, fried chicken and rice and kathew kaw ko and everything was delicious. actually awesome super spectacular. my very last time eating in massachusetts. how sad. this was my departing goodbye meal. i ordered the lod cha cuz i didn't know what that was and the photos online seemed interesting. it was honestly really really good. or maybe i was just hungry. but it was a but hard to eat with chopsticks because it just kept slipping but i realized that a better way to eat it was with a spoon and basically just scooping it. but it was soooo good. the egg was so like idk just the way i like my eggs and then the protein was yum too. i ate more cambodian food in like 3 days that i have my entire life. actualy that's a lie but it's usually the same stuff. but that was an awesome and unforgettable thanksgiving i had yup. read more

This is my go to spot when I want Cambodian food. Their Kathew is delicious. The aroma of that broth is insane. It's like you don't need to add any Sriracha or Hoison sauce.. but I need to. Been doing it my whole life. This is by far the best kathew in town. If you want PHO that's different. It's Vietnamese. You can also bring your own beer! They also have karaoke. We ordered several food to go. The fried rice had good flavoring and a fair amount of meat. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. The sour soup vietnamese style had plenty of vegetables and just enough spices. The beef chow funs with gravy sauce were delicious. Our family shared two bowl and they were completely gone. A few days later, we went back to get two phnom penh noodles. They were not greedy with the soup. The broth had enough flavor that the condiments became optional. This place is genuinely one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. They put a lot of pride in their food and it SHOWS. Ended up getting the Bang Bang Shrimp and Chicken, Garlic Pepper Wings and I tried the Drunken Noodles and Ground Beef Bulgogi. I could not tell you how they manage to cook so many things on this menu to that high of a standard. Amazing atmosphere and the family (staff) that run it could not have been nicer. It was a cold and rainy day and we were looking for some good Cambodian food in Lowell, MA. Unfortunately the parking was very limited and the store front had no awning to protect us from the cold rain. We walked in and there were lots of people eating soups and rice porridge known to many as congee. We did not go that direction when we ordered. So my wife is Cambodian who speaks Khmer but can't read it. The menu seemed like a loose "translation" of the dish but lost the essence of the dish like chicken and vegetables. Not sure how that was Cambodian. So we went with what we eat at my mother in laws house, beef sticks which they call beef teriyaki, pork stir fried noodles which they call chow Foon, and my daughter's favorite dish beef and bahok which they called beef filet with spicy sauce. The beef sticks were delicious and it came with a side of pickled vegetables. It has a light seasoning of lemongrass which I like since I don't like too much lemongrass though my wife does. I, my wife and 3 year old son enjoyed them. Keep in mind it does not come with rice so you have to ask for rice if you're just eating the beef sticks. Next came the noodles. It reminded us of Chinese noodles. We didn't taste any Cambodian influence on it, it was only ok. The final test was the beef and bahok. It came out in a big platter with lots of fresh veggies. The bahok had no spice but it was still tasty. The beef was tough and chewy. We have high standards because my mother in law is a great cook but we still expected a bit more from Lowell restaurant. We will try a different Cambodian restaurant next time to see how it measures up to this place and home cooking. My 7 year old daughter really enjoyed the beef and bahok but it wasn't as good as our home cooking. read more

Service is ok and food is good, but delivery of said food from the kitchen is ridiculously slow. In two different occasions during lunch, food has been brought to the table far enough apart that diners in my party have finished their meals before others could start. It wasn't as if the restaurant was slammed. If the kitchen can't put out the food fast enough don't seat everybody as soon as they walk in. read more

Love this place. Plenty seats. Friendly staff. The interior design reminds me back to the common design of restaurants in Saigon when I was young. I love NamVang Dried Noodle and Lok Lak Beef Fried Rice here. They are soooo yummy ! read more
