I was in the mood for Asian food last night. Other than the Ramen place, and the Thai place near Shelter Cove, I've never been to any other Asian restaurants on the island, so I looked up the options here on yelp. Yummy House was the closest one to our villa in Port Royal, so I decided to try it out despite the mediocre reviews. Thankfully, it exceeded my expectations in every way. First of all, they're open till 10 PM, even on Labor Day. Late night options can be hard to find in HHI. Secondly, the decor is attractive with a large dining area. I expected more of a takeout place, but this really is more of a sit down place. Lastly, and most importantly, our food was delicious. I got the Mongolian beef, and my wife got shrimp with vegetables. Total cost was more than I was hoping for at nearly $40 for two people, but the portions were so big that we both took half of our meal home and ate it for lunch today, so I guess you can't beat $40 for four meals in HHI. We will definitely return. By the way, as is typical for HHI, this place is basically hidden behind trees and you don't see it driving by. Driving by on 278 many times, I'd seen the Dunkin and the thrift store, but never realized there was a Chinese restaurant right next to them. read more

We have been here twice now, once delivered and once we picked it up and I am sorry, its just not for me. I am a white girl and this is too white even for me, more like the nasty chain PF Changs as far as quality. Just not for me. It is nice inside, looks recently redone. The buffet wasnt up and running cause it was kate afternoon but they said it is up and going for lunch for $10.99. I dont know though what all comes on it and I thought about trying it but I just dont like it enough to go back a third time. Also, it is very expensive as far as chinese places go but we are also on HHI so there's that. Eggplant was decent. Honey walnut shrimp has too much breading and as much as I love sauce this is just swimming in way too much sauce making the overly breaded shrimp soggy and gross. All dishes had the worst broccoli in them I have ever seen, it was weeks old if it was a day! Every dish came with a carton of steamed rice which I dont eat to begin with. One of the few places I found open after 9pm. Staff was super friendly and made sure our LARGE to go order was correct and ready quickly. Wonton soup was good and loved the wontons. Cashew chicken was tasty and full of chicken and veggies. I like when the carrots aren't uniformed cut. Makes feel it's fresher. Their lo mein was good and had great flavour. When you arrive - the food is moist and at the right temperature, however if you arrive after noon, quality varies by how busy the restaurant is. Most of the offerings are variations of chicken with some exceptions. The salad bar is limited and nothing to shout about. read more

Unfortunately the sesame and orange chicken was soggy, the fried rice lacked flavor, and the service was far from perfect. STAY AWAYYYY! We arrived for dinner around 7:00pm on a Saturday evening. My husband said "there's no one here ... not a good sign". The windows and glass doors were so filthy we could not clearly see through them. But we saw an "A" rating in the window and decided to stay. BIG mistake ... it got worse. The food was tasteless and old. Looked like it had been sitting for a long time. Secondly, as we sat and ate, we looked around and began to see filth on the counters, on the floors and baseboards. The restaurant was dimly light but the filth was very visible. As we tried to finish our meals we saw our waitress picking and pulling (scabs?) from her scalp. She smelled (it?) and closely looked at whatever she pulled from her scalp. Honestly, I began to feel sick to my stomach and felt like throwing up everything. She NEVER washed her hands then came over to bring our check. Like us, don't be lured by the $10.00 all you can eat Chinese Dinner Buffet .... Stay Away!!! Wanted to try this place because it was the closest Chinese take out to us. We ordered the egg rol, orange beef and the house rice noodles. It is actually pretty expensive for standard Chinese fare that isn't that good. The egg roll was cooked well, but it was bland. The orange beef was soggy, watered down, and spicy despite our request to make it mild and the rice noodles were fine. It's not gourmet, nor would you mistake it for an authentic Chinatown restaurant, but it's well made American Chinese food, the ingredients are fresh and the portions are substantial. They did have the sushi bar with two selections, served at warmer than room temperature :( I'd rather not die, sorry. 0/5 I begrudgingly ate one piece and had gas for hours. Every visit should end as good as it started, so when you have to poop the bathroom should be clean. I placed a large delivery order for a family of 19 the other day... and THEN saw the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by tasty sesame chicken and beef with broccoli. Just received my delivery from this disgusting place....never again will I eat here! My food arrived cold and without utensils. Come on, did they expect me to use my hands? Smh. But I ended up getting a spork from my hotels front desk. I took my first bite and that was it. Not just because it was cold but it tasted spoiled! I threw it away immediately!!! After I did the review we were back at a later date and we notice the Black Mold in the ceiling, the vent ducts, and walls. The mold is airborne contaminating the food in the buffet! Don't go in the bathrooms. The health department should visit this establishment. read more

I ordered online for delivery and the order was delivered in 30 minutes. Ordered an egg roll and fried rice with shrimp. I've had egg rolls from the frozen food department of the grocery store that were better. The egg roll was very large wrapped in a tough thick doughy wrapper. Every egg roll I have ever had before came in a light, crisp wrapper that had a nice crunch when I bit it. The inside appeared to be all cabbage but the only thing I could taste or smell was overpowering vinegar. Ugh!! It was terrible. The fried rice with shrimp was generously portioned with all ingredients. Vegetables were fresh and shrimp were plentiful and good but the flavor I'd say was overly enhanced with salt. I gave three stars for the quick delivery, generous portion on the fried rice. I'm not sure if I will order again but if I do I will not order the egg roll! That I know! read more

Diet style chicken and broccoli was completely devoid of taste and the chicken was rubbery. General Tsao's and sautéed string beans were swimming in sugary, gloppy sauce.
