Ever year we make a annual trip to OKKO. It is always exciting to watch the hibachi chef do his show. This year I had the lobster, shrimp, and scallops hibachi meal. It was delicious and very filling. The rest of the family did five orders of the chicken hibachi meal. Lots of chicken, I received a small portion after they all were served. The lobster, shrimp, and scallops had a delicious sauce added to the cooking process. The mixed vegetables were awesome with the ginger sauce. I had a second helping of the ginger sauce, that went well with the shrimp, scallops and lobster tail. Will do this again. The serve was prompt never having to look for an attendant. Visited from Florida for my birthday. Very great ambiance when you enter this establishment. Very clean and great decor and felt like it was fancy. My husband and I were greeted quickly. We always decide to sit at the sushi bar when we go for sushi. Chefs behind the counter were nice. Served was attentive even with the busyness. We had 4 rolls; The Tuna Amazing, The Kamikaze, The Naruto, The Rainbow Roll. Our favorite was the Tuna Amazing. Loved the pepper tuna. Nice place and good sushi. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant while on vacation. Decor inside is very modern and spacious, looks like a night club when you walk in. Servers were very attentive. We ordered only the calamari appetizer and 4 standard sushi rolls. Unfortunately when we got the calamari, it was so salty that we couldn't eat more than a bite. We had to tell the waiter and he took it off our bill, it wasn't anything special so we decided not to have them make it again for us. The four sushi rolls we got were good and also nothing special. While we could have gotten special rolls, we just wanted to have our favorites and it hit the spot. Since we didn't order drinks, we got out of there with a very reasonable bill. Service was fast and no frills. We opted for an no-hibachi table and it seems that hibachi is the fun side and we had the overflow. Food was good, and even with the options of hibachi, Chinese, sushi, and Thai we all went with hibachi. I had the filet and lobster which was served with clear mushroom soup and salad, then fried rice and stir fried veggies. It was all good but the fried rice has little to no "stuff" that we're accustomed to - no egg, peas, carrots. My big disappointment was that the lobster was warm water and not cold. That's a big difference to me and they are charging the price for cold water. Filet was fine but I probably wouldn't order the lobster again. If you bring the kids they make it so fun in the container or squirt that they have the soy sauce in. The miso soup was soo salty that I had to add water in it but it was still not edible. Every single local I've talked to absolutely raves about Okko, bragging about getting to come here for dinner for whatever special event, or just because. I heard the hibachi here is insane so I decided to come check it out. I had tried getting a reservation (same-day) for my friends and I for a hibachi table but I had a really hard time and they had very limited availability. I instead went on a different day by myself for lunch. The restaurant is very swanky! It's a neat atmosphere. I wanted to try this famous hibachi, and I couldn't decide between the calamari and the steak. Thankfully they let me get a combination. They first brought out the miso soup and finger dressing salad appetizers. These were both delicious and they tasted very high quality. Then the hibachi came out. So much food, I won't say whether or not I ate it all, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The calamari came in a really fun ringlet shape. And I could eat that sauce by the spoonful. Visited this restaurant tonight for Christmas dinner based on recommendation. It was super crowded, because not a lot of restaurants were opened. I made a reservation for hibachi at 6pm. We were seated close to the promised time. The hibachi room was not big. It felt pretty crammed. Our waiter was not too friendly. He took all the orders of our table, and it was somebody else who brought us our salad and soup. He did come back a couple of times to check on us, but overall not too attentive. The chef arrived pretty fast, something Benihana needs to improve on. However, he seemed to not be able to remember what each of us at the table had ordered (10 people total). At the end he gave my filet mignon to my husband and another lady. I was left without the steak. He did ask the waiter to bring him another piece of filet mignon, but I was not sure if it really was filet mignon. Food was tasty and cheaper than Benihana. Chef was quite entertaining. Will I come back again if I visit Hilton Head Island again? Most probably not. read more
